Pics of the inside below.

"Rebadged Keio Donca Matic Rock Mate, Keio being the name of the company before it became korg. This was made in the mid to late 1960's and is possibly the first portable drum machine manufactured.

It is a preset drum machine which runs off wither a 9v battery or 9v ac adapter. It has 6 basic rhythms A- F and an interesting "solo" button. This solo button seems to have 3 function but actually the way it works is (as it is a momentary type of switch) when you hold it down you get repeating 32nd notes - but if you manually press momentarily you can get 16th or quarter notes.

In any case this solo function enables you to varie the limited presets by a fair amount… its a wonder why this function didnt appear much on later units as it transforms a rather boring preset drum machine into something much more useful."

EDP GNAT with Elby Designs MIDI

"It has had the elby designs midi retrofit installed - this has no impact on how the synth looks - the wasp interface simply becomes a midi input socket ! Elby designs are still operational and continue to provide really good support for upgrades to the midi interface O/S Correct power adaptor supplied (it has a strange 'mini jack' type socket) The synth itself is in great condition - the membrane keyboard works as well as I can imagine it ever has done! Some of the pots need a few crackly twists to clean the signal if they haven't been used for a few days but this would be very easy to fix. Also, the battery compartment cover is missing...

The sound itself is the real deal. The filter is exceptional. The LFO is unique - fastest speed really is FAST! All together this is a great sounding synth and can go from cutting solo lines to squelchy 303'esque basslines to full on SFX. I've written in the title 'analogue' - it's actually digital VCO with analogue filter."

"original Taurus pedals. It is used and is missing one key (low D) that was broken before I got it. It was previosly owned by Lynda Millard of "DreamTrybe" from Austin TX. She did the artwork seen on the instrument. It is acrylic paint and will peel off easily. It functions at all levels but has some intermittant indicator LEDs on a button or two."

"Unforgivable sinner" - on Yamaha HE-8

YouTube Published on Apr 23, 2012 by organfairy

"Some people say that I play too much old music. So this time I am moving considerably forwards in time comparing to the majority of my repertoire.

Unforgivable Sinner was a hit for Norweigean singer Lene Marlin in 1999 so we are moving closer to this millennium!

I play it on Yamaha HE-8 and Technics SX-C600 organs and Roland JX-8P synthesizer."

Trogotronic 676 vs 666_1

YouTube Published on Apr 23, 2012 by DJjondent

"A friend of mine has asked me to compare the two modules.
So here goes.

Are they just noise machines.?
Are these musical?
Who cares??
They are handmade beasts.
If you like britney spears (no offence to B) this module is not for you.

I found that Both are really Really hard to tame.
But possibly the makers dont intend that they "behave".
In the 1st demo of the 676
Ive got a single CV signal from the Autobot (Miami acid) , duplicated and then
plugged into the OCS1 & OSC2 inputs on the 676.
I don't think its meant to track Hz/v or 1v/oct.

The other modulation inputs respond to LFOs and envelopes.
It has 5 CV inputs

Maybe a gate triggering an envelope might produce interesting results.
The 3 switches are described as normal (up) and mayhem (down).
I think this says it it all. :-)

Its Worth future experimentation if you like stepping outside the comfort zone

Beware ..the sound may be harsh for some.

I'll compare the trog 666 next

Thanks to Matt of Rhythmactive for the Trogotronic modules"

"Ok now the 666... the number of the beast.
Im expecting the apocalypse now.

Its got 9 CV inputs.
Ive got the same single CV signal that I used with the 676.
Its from the Autobot (Miami acid) , duplicated and then
plugged into the OCS1 & OSC2 inputs.

Ive added 2 extra Cv signals from the snazzy FX.
OMG.,,, there are still 5 left unused

Lots of burp, fart and swarms of locust noises.

Thanks to Matt of Rhythmactive for the Trogotronic modules"

JP80 VS JP8 Jupiter Strings Comparison

YouTube Published on Apr 22, 2012 by synthartist69

"In this video I compare similar string patches of the Jupiter 80 and the Jupiter 8. What I have found in this case is that if you play a single note and compare, the sound is very similar between both Jupiters. However, if you play chords you can hear a difference in which the Jupiter 80 has a very nasal effect to the sound, especially in the higher octaves. Both keyboards were played with the EQ flat including the patch eq on the JP80. All effects were turned off."
