"The new Mystery Mutant Drum unveiled!

Our pal Dr. Snarold showed us around his lab while he played around with his new Mutant Machine, so we caught it on video.

It will be a eurorack format synthesizer module and DIY project.

More information can be found at the hexinverter.net page ( http://cv.hexinverter.net ) and by searching for the Mutant Machine on ModularGrid

Many thanks goes to these fine fellows for all their help!

AS-866 Synth Jam Based on the Allen Strange's Electronic Music Book

Published on Jan 22, 2015 ikjoyce

"A full on live jam from the AS-866 patch

The original patch was my attempt at figure 8.66 in the Allen Strange book. I added an extra figure that takes the output of one of the oscillators, mixes it with a third oscillator playing a different sequence, and then ring-modulates against itself. Adds a bit more interest, especially when playing with the filter cutoff. I also added a Dark Time 15-note sequence with pitch modulation from one of the sequences driving the main patch, switched in and out with a 4 way switch - this is playing the Dark Energy."

Spring Will Come - Roland Aira TR-8, Korg Volca Keys, Korg Volca Bass

Published on Jan 22, 2015 Tony Horgan

"More of a jam than a track, but all played live using only the onboard hardware sequencers. The Volca Keys plays the bassline, passed through the TR-8 to make a submix with the kick drum, both of which are compressed with an Alesis Nano Compressor. The Volca Bass gets some effects from a Zoom 1201 rack unit and a Korg KaossPad Quad."

Shovel Knight is a very special game. Its one of those games we will look at in 10 years and try to figure out exactly what made it so special. And its soundtrack is just so freaking good. I always appreciated Mole Knights song, An Underlying Problem, because of the tight syncopation on the chorus section. I hope you enjoy our take on this great song!
