Beatstep Pro + Kilpatrick Audio Phenol - Almost Giallo

Published on Jun 2, 2016 Genshi Media Group

"Another quick demo of the Beatstep Pro sequencing the Kilpatrick Audio Phenol synth. This one reminded me [a little bit] of the Giallo horror movie soundtracks of the 1970s/80s... again featuring the Teenage Engineering PO-12 Pocket Operator for beats, and the Eventide H9 for fx processing."

"Arrhythmia as a sound source. Instead of using it as a clock source we connected it directly to the audio output and mdoulated it with a square wave. Pulse wave noise!"

Ripcord - The Plug 'n Play Anywhere USB Power Cable Seeks Funding on Kickstarter

Update: Ripcord is funded!

This one in via MATRIXSYNTH Member, Caroline who is working on Ripcord:

"Ripcord, the 5V to 9V USB cable, works with synths like the Korg Volca, is 78% funded in Kickstarter with 2 days to go

If you haven't seen Ripcord yet have a look at http://kck.st/25CeE4W - it's for powering gear that needs voltages other than 5V from a USB port.

The small-batch version is in use by thousands of musicians all over the world right now, but we've redesigned it from the ground up, with more power and better features..

Gaz Williams and Nick Batt from Sonic State talked about it in their latest Volca Vibes video.

Any questions - get in touch at myvolts.com or with me, Caroline, at https://twitter.com/carolinezoids"

'Silvered Stomp' by Robots Against Children

Hi all,

So, I've come to realize something. I tend to get bored very easily using the same gear so I'm constantly pulling things off the shelves and putting them together in new configurations. I'm fortunate because I have enough gear to do that and it helps to keep me learning and engaged but it is probably not always the best thing to keep me getting better.

I've noticed that every time I put a brand new set up together, my first go with it is generally a little rough around the edges. It seems it takes me a while, through working several different tracks on the same set up, before I can really dial in the sound and music.

This track is a first go. More or less, just a "rough and tumble" acid techno workout to start dialing things in with this rig. There are things I certainly like about it but I can concede to myself that I have room to grow here. Regardless, I hope it is enjoyed. Hope you all are well."
