Yes, that is my OB-Xa. :)

http://www.synthchaser.com

"Today I'm repairing an OB-Xa for Matrix of matrixsynth.com. One voice card is dead, and others are failing autotune and sounding really inconsistent from voice to voice. In this video we take a look at the state of the synth, and troubleshoot and repair the dead voice card.

Parts used in this video series are available at my website. I also repair and restore Oberheims and other vintage synths for customers around the world."

"In this video, I continue the repair of an OB-Xa for Matrix of matrixsynth.com. We rebuild the power supply and voice cards, and get the synth in tune and sounding consistent from voice card to voice card. I also show you a common defect with the voice cards that prevents proper calibration.

Parts used in this video series are available at my website. I also repair and restore Oberheims and other vintage synths for customers around the world."

Late night eurorack modular synth jam with friends (make noise, mutable instruments, intellijel)

Published on Jun 9, 2017 ollilaboratories

"If you like my stuff please support me on http://music.ollilab.com/

Yeah, yeah... ever since I got my modular I wanted to create a classic long BURG style track. So I went back to the drawing board, hit some old melodies in C-minor and out came this tune.

A lot of stuff going on in this one, it all starts off with the make noise morphagene doing a really weird and lovely chopped up sample loop of a melody I found...+ the 0-coast on bass, and an arp on the system-1.

The modular has three sounds, the intro sample + sync bass/melody sequence + snare drum fills. The sync sequence is patched to really not play the same tune and/or note ... borderline regenerative, what I do is that I just open up the filter a bit to help pull in/out the main melody when needed.

The elektron fills in with some percussion and bass + the volca bass handles the low-end notes. The other volcas are there as always and do the stuff they do best :)

Ms-20 is treated with some really long tape echoes from the el capistan + a dual splash reverb in the space which really mashed the sound to a super wide palette.. its crazy nice, just love it.

Reface CP, wurly + csidman and strymon bluesky .. + a reverse piano loop on the ditto X2.

NLA1 does some fifth note strings that I control with a swell pedal on the floor, to pull it in/out with the filter ...

Standard TB3 square bass and monologue 16 note modulated sequence to top things off at the end.

Yeah... great fun, too fun actually, I had to do like 5 takes before I was able to nail a version that I was happy with. Apologies for the blinky blink lights but when turning the laser off between takes it defaulted to the annoying mode which I did not realize was on until I was done with the final take.. so tried to smooth it a bit with some faded film style when editing the film to kill off the worst blinky stuff.

Hope you can enjoy it still !! BoOoOoM !"

MAKING A MINIMAL TECHNO DRUM KIT BY SAMPLING RANDOM OBJECTS ~ Korg ES-1 Electribe Sampler

Published on Jun 9, 2017 once upon a synth

The little dancin being on the display makes it. I have no idea if it's a girl or a man with a man bun. BTW, you can get man buns on Amazon if you want one.

"I sample random objects I found around the house into the Korg ES-1 sampler and attempt to make some lo-fi techno. Objets include a coke can, a book, a banana, a kleenex box, a camera, a lighter, etc. This is a fun way to create your own lo-fi drum kits and end up with unique and interesting sounds that you can layer in with real drum hits to add a bit of flavor.

Final Fantasy IV - Boss Battle Theme (8 Bit Cover)

Published on Jun 9, 2017 BARxMusic

"Its been a while, but I'm back again with another 8 Bit cover, this time its the boss theme from Final Fantasy IV! (also known as the Culex theme from Super Mario RPG)

Branched out a bit more with the instrumentation this time, and I'm using both my Korg MS-20 and Korg Minilogue, as well as a Gameboy hooked up through a Teensyboy for the percussion!

Hope you enjoy!"

Jean-Michel Jarre Live Synths and a MATRIXSYNTH Baseball Cap

This one in via Synth Addict:

"A great Jarre show a couple of weeks ago in Berkeley, with lots of analog goodness and lasers.

ARP 2500 and many more synths were spotted.

In the souvenir area, the most coveted item wasn't for sale. :-)"

Nice MATRIXSYNTH hat! That would be Synth Addict's, not JMJ of course. He's never asked me for one. :) Cool to know it was at the show! Thank you Synth Addict!

Quick Note: the baseball cap was actually made by Synth Addict. The ones for $10 supporters of the site are a different design as you can see here. Just want to be sure anyone that does sign up for the cap, knows which one they are getting.

"Allows any instrument to 'play' a synthesizer. This signal processor converts any audio signal input into a synthesizer control signal. Put together a guitar or vocal synthesizer instantly by connecting the MC-03 between your guitar or mike and any synthesizer with CV and trigger inputs. No alterations are needed; just by plugging into the MS-03 and adjusting the controls, your instrument can actually 'play' the synthesizer. When performing live, connect a foot switch for portamento, pitch hold, and other useful effects."
