ARTURIA MATRIXBRUTE PRICE TO RISE ON JULY 1ST, 2018

Update: one thing I forgot to mention is the impact Trumps new tariffs may have on the price of synths in general and other goods. If you haven't heard, read the news. The cost of imports including the materials used to make gear will likely go up.

I think this is the first time I've heard of the price of a synth going up instead of down over the years. The MatrixBrute was officially introduced in January of 2016. Curious what this will do to sales after July 1st. How do you convince yourself to buy something new that you could have gotten for less?

via Arturia:

"Grenoble-based hardware and software synth creators Arturia have announced that the retail price of their flagship analog monosynth will rise from July 1st, 2018.

Due to increasing cost of the internal analog components, manufacturing, and shipping, Arturia have made the decision to raise the price of the MatrixBrute, which was announced at NAMM 2016, and has gone on to win multiple media, consumer, and pro audio awards since its release.

'Arturia has always been keen on delivering instruments that offer high value for money. This is what we did with MatrixBrute, I believe, making a real statement that we could bring an outstanding synthesizer at reasonable price.' remarked Frédéric Brun, Arturia's founder and president.

'The decision to raise this price hasn't come easily, and we waited to make the change for as long as we could. Due to increasing component costs, and to aid our distributors and retailers in a context where several Euro/US$/£ have fluctuated since the introduction, we considered that now was the right time.'

From the start of July, the price of the Arturia MatrixBrute will see the following increases:

In the Eurozone, the retail price will change from 1999 € to 2299 € .

In the USA, the price will change from 2199 US$ to 2499 US$ .

Even with this price rise taken into consideration, it’s still one of the most exciting, experimental, and inspiring premium synthesizers on the market.

Arturia’s global network of distributors and their retailers have been notified, and are ready to reflect the change in cost from this date.

To find out more about the Arturia MatrixBrute, visit the Arturia website, or any good instrument store."

The Moog Fox Red (Moog DFAM, Mother-32 & Freqbox)

Published on Mar 22, 2018 HardtekStudios

"For this semi-modular all Moog jam, I have run the Mother-32 thru the Moog Freqbox. The DFAM is sharing one of it's envelopes with the Freqbox to control it's FM Amount. The Mother-32 is also sharing some CV power with the DFAM, using it's Mult to provide maximum sequencer tweaker power! Lots more interesting patches control other characteristics of this fun jam."

Endorphin.es Shuttle System Techno Jam

Published on Mar 22, 2018 TheEndorphines

"That's a raw live techno jam by Audio Units using an amalgamation of analog machines in the studio.

Audio Units use Endorphin.es Shuttle System as part of the #LifeIsATrip contest.

The KORG MS20 delivers the bass while the Endorphin.es Shuttle System comes in with the noisy lead sound.

A little something about the Endorphines #Shuttle, it's an excellent and versatile piece of gear with almost endless CV modulation possibilities with their 'Shuttle Control' module (incl. features like converting automation or MIDI CC values to Control Voltages that most Eurorack format modules should be able to comprehend)

The oscillators sound fat and rich, easy to tune. The choice of filter modes make it easy to shape frequencies or destroy them. The envelopes can be adjusted to make everything from the snappiest of percussive sounds to the longest of decaying drones. Cross modulation between the oscillators using the "Furthrrrr Generator" is incredible too. A must have for the modular synth addicts!

The Make Noise 0-Coast is being used to replace the filter envelope on the MS20 mini.

All of the above is being sequenced by the teenage engineering OP1's 'endless' sequencer with some basic spatial effects on the synth sounds using Ableton Live 10.

Please watch in HD and use a pair of headphones for the best quality."

New ADE-33 Event Boss Eurorack Module From Abstract Data

Published on Mar 22, 2018 abstractdatabiz

"30 second overview covering the main features and functionality of the Abstract Data ADE-33 Event Boss.

The ADE-33 is a pattern and rhythm creation and manipulation module.

It has 36 algorithms in 6 sets covering Variables, Multiples, Probability, Logic, Phase and Gates with configurable CV control over all parameters."

"Abstract Data is very pleased to announce the launch of our debut rhythm and pattern creation module - the ADE-33 Event Boss.

The ADE-33 combines 6 sets of algorithms - with 36 algorithms in total - covering:

* Variables: Rhythmic patterns and circadian-style rhythms
* Multiples: Clock and LFO multiplication and division by factors from 1-12
* Probability: Pseudo-random, probability and chance-based variations
* Logic: Classic logic-based functionality
* Phase: Phase shifting, time-based delays and swing-style effects
* Gates: Trigger, pulse and gate manipulation and generation

The Event Boss is designed to work with any clock, gate, trigger, square wave or PWM-type LFO input. It will take regular clocks and generate rhythms, it will take rhythmic patterns and generate new patterns and it will take irregular and random clocks and generate new, irregular and probability-based patterns and variations.

There is CV control over every parameter so patterns can be rhythmic, continually evolving, entirely random or pretty much any combination the user chooses.

Of course, it can also be used as a utility module to perform various clock division/multiplication, phase-shifting and logic-related tasks. However, it is at its most creative when used as a real-time pattern generator for creating musically useful rhythms and patterns from simple clock, rhythm and CV inputs.

The ADE-33 Event Boss is on sale now for GBP199.00 and can be bought directly from Abstract Data or our international dealers. Please talk to your local Eurorack dealer about availability."

"This is a custom made sequencer synthesizer. All analog. Very fun to play. Lots of sonic possibilities to add to your mix. Unique VCO can be chaotic but very usable. Inspired by circuit bending. Can be synced to external gates, triggers, or clock sources, and can be used to gate or clock other things. Check out the video...

Handmade in Portland Oregon USA."

"If you're here then you know what it does. It does a kind of waveshaping distortion, not dissimilar to PLL type noises, but not the same either. It enjoys spiky/choppy waveforms (run your guitar through a fuzz first if this is your use) and it really shines in the modular environment where you can control the incessant angry TUBE HARSH NOISE with envelopes.

Either way, enjoy a rarity.

I bought this used last year, it works properly, it is TM-1 #14.

The silkscreen is a little rough and there are some chips in the paint, but I've only used it tabletop in my house to try to extract death sounds."
