"April is filling up beginning with the recent release of Softube.com’s Buchla 296e Spectral Processor plugin for their Modular platform.
I was lucky enough to do a 10 part video series overview/tutorial of the amazing Spectral Processor. [posted here]
Bruce Bayard and I, known as Control Voltage Therapy are looking forward to joining our friends Caballito Negro: Terry Longshore & Tessa Brinckman this Friday, April 12 at 7 pm at the Schneider Museum of Art as part of the Ashland Independent Film Festival’s celebration which included a video by Bruce which we will perform with. "Semi-improvised chordal playing on the PolyEvolver. Maybe for a film.
This patch changes from brass to strings depending on filter envelope settings, velocity and pressure.

Modular Synthesis Intro Concepts from Patch & Tweak
Published on Apr 7, 2019 PATCH & TWEAK
Tutorials from Patch & Tweak co-author Chris Meyer of Learning Modular.
"When you first get into sound synthesis, it may seem like people are speaking an alien language, describing it in terms of frequency, amplitude, harmonics, waves, modes, poles, envelopes, modulators, and the such.
But behind those words are some fairly simple concepts: What pitch you playing a sound at? How loud is it? How does that loudness change over the course of a note? How bright or dull does it sound? How can you change that brightness or dullness?
We describe these concepts in the Modular Synthesis section starting on page 12 of Patch & Tweak. But there’s nothing like hearing what they actually sound like, and seeing what we’re actually doing on a modular synthesizer to create those different sound qualities.
Therefore, Patch & Tweak co-author Chris Meyer of Learning Modular has created a set of short beginner-friendly movies that explain these Basic Concepts."

Float - Eurorack Modular Ambient
Published on Apr 7, 2019 sprunging for voltage
"First video in quite a while. First video with the new Eurorack set up. Off camera the Novation Ultranova lends a sitar-like pad, while the Arturia Matrixbrute provides a dreamy, bendy lead. The Behringer Neutron is providing functions only and is not actually producing any sound via its oscillators. Also off camera are 3 Korg SQ-1 sequencers piping CV to various inputs on the modules. Various pedals and effects are also in play. Recorded in one take, stereo in to Ableton from my mixer. Enjoy."

"By integrating the Morphing Sequencers with it's expressive synthesizer engine the Quasimidi Polymorph a sophisticated instrument with many complex features and facilities.
The Polymorph is 4 part/4 synth sequencer/drum machine and an 8 to 16 voice synthesizer featuring Quasismidi's ANALOG EMULATION SYNTHESIS as well as sampled waveforms with a noise generator. the synth parts can have 3 oscillators each or to share polyphony parts can be 2 oscillators per voice.
The instrument also includes 4 independent effect blocks for each part and a memory of 128 programs and 64 performances."
