Black Corporation Kijimi Patches (First Pass) by Paul Schilling

"Some examples of the sounds Kijimi can make."

Valhalla VintageVerb (HomeStar BlaseRunner preset with decay generally around 6 sec) on reverb. Some adjustment per preset with Ableton.

Neural WaveTable

Published on May 1, 2018 Hantraks

"A wavetable synthesizer VST that uses WaveNet to interpolate between different wavetables. We include two formats of this synthesizer, a plug-and-play VST you can download and play RIGHT NOW in your DAW! For the more technically inclined, we also include all our source python and c++ code using tensorflow and JUCE for you to experiment and build upon. Happy music-making!

Alesis A6 Andromeda - Exploring the Filters

Published on Aug 25, 2019 ProckGnosis

"Got the A6 cleaned up last month, and while I was testing it out and playing with it, I thought I'd do a quick video discussing how the filters are set up. Playing with the synth starts at 2:15, and the more technical explanation starts at 12:30. As frequently happens with me, the video didn't turn out to be so quick.

The A6 truly is an awesome synth, and it's programmable as hell. Though I call it an analog synth in the video, and it does have a all-analog signal patch (minus the effects), it's really sort of a analogy-digital hybrid, because all of the controls of the analog signal are executed in the digital domain. That doesn't stop it from sounding great through."

Part 2 RP 158 Internal mode

"Part 2 of my look into the Red Panel by Buchla 158 Sine-Sawtooth Generator with a brief gander at the 156 Voltage Processor which is essential to any 100 system and especially to the 158. Stay tuned for Part 3"

electra.one with a soft synth

Published on Aug 25, 2019 Martin Pavlas

"A frequent question is if electra.one MIDI controller will work with soft synths and VSTs. Here is a short demo of using MIDI CC with Absynth 5. For more information visit https://www.electra.one/

Electra.one is connected to Mac with a USB cable and ESI KeyControl 25 is connected to Electra's USB host port.

Three MIDI CCs are used to control Absynth 5's oscillator frequency, filter cutoff and resonance."

Introducing reSEMble

Published on Aug 25, 2019 Randy Piscione

"This is the maiden voyage of reSEMble, a single-panel, single-voice synth inspired by the Oberheim SEM, for Eurorack. More info below.

This is a prototype panel, home made (obvious I know) but the building blocks are available from PM Foundations. The panel is currently in Front Panel Designer, but I have not ordered one yet. The 'modules' can be built as standalone Eurorack modules or built behind the reSEMble panel. There is no point-to-point wiring. All connections are made with ribbon cables that run from the back of each module to a single busboard.

We haven’t decided how to market / sell it yet, or even if there is enough demand to bother, but I’m definitely making another one for myself. The 3 VCOs, VCF and two EGs are based on the SEM, but, in addition to a 3rd VCO, there are a few other enhancements, including an expanded LFO, Noise, sample and hold, a wavefolder and more modulation and routing options.

This is not a clone of an SEM. Unlike someone who shall remain nameless but whose initials are UB, we actually sent a note to Tom Oberheim, who forwarded our note to a friend of his, who spent some time on the phone with me. He encouraged us to take Tom’s work and build on it, which we did. The combination of toggles and expanded module functionality replace approximately 80 patchcords."

Chock Full o' Filters

Published on Aug 25, 2019 juanito moore

Juanito Moore is the man behind Modular for the Masses, and will be part of the speaker line-up at Knobcon this year.

"Hardware Jam weekend challenge. The challenge was to use filters, filters filters FILTERS!!! I used filters as oscillators and as a little bongo drum sound, and of course to modify the drums and keyboard noodling. Now, a high quality filter will self-oscillate in a very pure sine wave, which doesn't have any harmonics for a 2nd filter to work with, so I needed to use a square wave for the "keyboard" part. Square waves have lots of harmonics to filter out in interesting ways. Check out the cheap Chinese reverb effects module -- these modules are SO GOOD. Highly recommended.

Waldorf Nave & Eurorack Jam (iOS/iPad + Analog Modular Synth)

Published on Aug 25, 2019 DreamsOfWires

"A rough session revisiting an old recording I made using Nave and Magellan on the iPad a couple of years ago, this time using the AJH MiniMod system for real analog synth sounds.

The original Magellan patch used 6 VCO's and 4 filters in parallel (audio sent to 4 different filters). This Eurorack version uses 3 VCO's and 2 filters in series (output of one filter into the next), although the second is a dual filter (AJH Gemini - Dual mode) and is being used to create a stereo effect/movement.

The output of the Transistor Ladder Filter is sent to the Gemini, and I'm using it's Freq (cutoff) to find sweet spots.

I created the Nave patch myself, and it uses the built-in arpeggiator. Midisteps (iPad app) is sending note information to Nave's arp, and patterns to the Expert Sleepers FH-2, which is sending CV/Gate to the modular synth.

Recorded initially in AUM on an iPad, then exported to Reaper DAW for delay, reverb, lose mixing.
