"i have contended for sometime that the OB-6 is truly the Dark Knight of synthesizers (or shall we say The Batman in loving honour of Matt Reeve’s expert vision. it’s an opinion mostly, but backed by a tad bit of objectivity, only in so much that the brassy, brash tones of this instrument, coupled with its dark and brooding chassis, certainly embody the tone of the canon of the legend, as we know it today. the SOMA Lyra-8, my favourite modular sounding instrument that’s not modular, but quickly accessible and wildly raw for those terribly icy and northerly tones."

"Second test of Sequential Prophet 6 in MPE mode controlled by Chameleon custom setup and includes external trigger of Prophet voices via multiple arpeggiators.

Maybe will find a use for it at some point. This was to see how well this could work as a sound design tool and unlock the Prophet 6 some more. Might as well video it..."

e-ther is played with gestures in the air like a theremin and can output:

MIDI over USB
MIDI over TRS (a TRS-5-pin DIN lead gives MIDI over 5-pin DIN)
audio at line or headphone level and a gain control (with optional Pimoroni PicoAudio DAC)
e-ther's sensors don't use visible light and therefore aren't affected by changes in ambient light. They measure distance very accurately (invisible, eye-safe) making e-ther very predictable and consistent."

"This is a 6-oscillator synthesiser with a choice of 4 waveforms per voice, ADSR, filtering and modulations such as PWM and vibrato. It also has some advanced features like ring modulation and waveform sync.

The SID (;Sound Interface Device;) was designed for the 1982 Commodore 64 home computer. It has many features and a distinctive sound. MIDISID uses two modern SID recreations (Nano SwinSIDs). MIDISID has three modes allowing you to play .mid files or plug in a MIDI controller such as a keyboard. You can choose from preset sounds or dive into the parameters, create and store your own sounds.

"With the imminent release of Obsession Vol 1 for the Oberheim OB-X8, I thought I'd do a video covering some of the Sounds I have made, plus some interesting techniques I've used when making the Bank.

I'll be joined by Peter Fitzpatrick who is an owner of an OB-X8 to discuss his thoughts on the Synth too.

My artist name is Circuit3. I write, record and perform from my home studio in Dublin, Ireland.
My third album Technology For The Youth was released through AnalogueTrash in 2022 on multiple vinyl variants, CD and digital. Available from circuit3.bandcamp.com 'Brilliant retro-futurist orbiting synths…evocative electronic music for stolen futures' Electronic Sound Magazine.
