Soundtoys Sale

Soundtoys is currently having a sale. You'll find full details here, including demos.

Note although the sale is focused on "Creative Guitar Processing" their effects can of course be applied to synths.

"This week we’re obsessed with guitar, which might be one of the most popular, most versatile, and most important instruments in contemporary music. Over the decades, guitars have shaped a multitude of hits, transcended genres, and become distinctive sounds within popular music.

We’ve been deep in the studio exploring effects, playing with presets, and trying different mixing techniques on all types of guitars. Check out the links below to find some inspiration on how to transform electric guitar, pedal steel, or lap steel tracks into something sonically succulent and explore limitless possibilities of creative guitar sounds using Soundtoys."

Waves // Beads as a wavetable synth through the Instruo Lubadh

video upload by Mega Modularis

"For this week’s video I tried using the Mutable Instruments Beads as the only sound source, with nothing plugged in Beads becomes a wavetable synth, which I then modulated and fed into the @instruo Lubadh, before manipulating those recordings and feeding them back into Beads and Monsoon by Big T Music, as well as my trusty @MAKEN0ISEMUSIC Mimeophon delay. This resulted in a pretty interesting ambient patch I think, with some nice use of the time control on the Lubadh, and that lovely reverb-rich granulation of Beads and Monsoon, what do you think? Anyway sit back and enjoy! MM.

Patch Notes:

Voice: Mutable Beads, Instruo Lubadh
Modulation: ALM Pam’s, @DivKid Ochd
Audio FX & Processing: Instruo Lubadh, Mutable Beads & the Big T Music Monsoon"

"I had this chord progression in my head all week, so now I've finally had the time to lay it down on the Rhodes and add other stuff on top. I hope you like it!"

"The Moog Model 15 is a remarkable reissue of Moog's vintage touring synthesizer, with only 150 of these Limited Edition models available globally. This modular synth has been precisely reconstructed from the integrated vinyl-covered travel case to the hand-soldered components. It presents a unique opportunity for contemporary composers and performers to explore the rudiments of subtractive synthesis in a vintage format.

The Model 15 comes equipped with 14 finely-crafted modules, among which are three oscillators and the 907A Fixed Filter Bank. This latter module is particularly noteworthy for its massive sound-shaping capabilities, providing unique synth effects. The Model 15 Limited edition reissue offers boundless potential for sound design, with three Moog oscillator modules that support oscillator sync, two envelope generators, two voltage-controlled amplifiers, and a noise generator module with pink and white noise outputs. It also includes the 995 Attenuator module for creative gain control of audio signals and control signals.

The 907A Fixed Filter Bank module is a distinctive feature of the Model 15, enabling you to segment your tone into distinct frequency bands. It boasts eight fixed filters, in addition to lowpass and highpass filters, each with its level control. This enables real-time manipulation of knobs to generate evolving, atmospheric soundscapes, or layer the filter bank over a base oscillator to emphasise specific timbres. This versatile synth module offers endless creative possibilities.

The Model 15 synthesiser has been meticulously constructed to the same exacting specifications as of the original 1973. Moog engineers spent over three years scrutinising the original documentation and rediscovering circuit board and art for every module. The limited run, coupled with Moog's dedication to authenticity, ensures each component has been hand-soldered using traditional wiring methods. Furthermore, the photo-etched aluminium panels and vintage-style cabinetry provide the perfect finishing touches to this faithful reissue. Includes all original cables, incredibly detailed hard cover manual & lid for tolex-cased enclosure. In excellent condition."
