"Note: the instrument seen in the video is a slightly different build than the set currently up for sale, but it has the same exact operation and same fat internal sound."

"I have met a lot of players that tell me that they don't want to fool around with MIDI, that they just want a Set of Bass Pedals that is simple to use, with a solid bass sound built right in. Well here it is! Made from old Organ Stock, these pedals feature a great all-purpose bass sound that is rich and deep. The operation is very simple.. plug in your 1/4" guitar type cable, run it to an amplifier and you're ready to play (no additional controls, just *solid* bass). Power supply is included."

Can this eurorack module take care off all your utility needs? - with Arkan / Malstrom

video upload by

"Utilities are often overlooked. But things like mixing, attenuating, inverting, and adding offset are what makes patches great. Today we take a closer look at Arkan from Malstrom. A module that can tackle all the basics, but adds voltage controlled polarizing to the mix. So, it can be used as a regular VCA, VC inverter and ring modulator as well. Beside that it can gain or boost signals into distortion or wave shaping. And it can do all that twice.

Timetable:
00:00 – Intro & sounds
01:18 – Overview – Input & Bias
03:41 – Overview – Modulation
06:13 – CV Patches
15:55 – Audio patches

Malstrom's Arkan is a two-channel bipolar VCA that is perfect for modifying control voltage signals and features a curvature parameter that adjusts the shape of the CV in a new way. While it excels at controlling voltage, the Arkan can be used as a unipolar VCA to control audio signals. When using the VCA at audio rates, you can dial in great sounding ring mod sounds and with channel 1 normalized to channel 2, plus the ability to chain multiple units together, rich modulation networks are easily created with minimal input. A built-in bias lets you control the offset for waveshaping and adjust how much of an additional signal gets mixed in or inverted. Grab an Arkan from Malstom and take control of your CV in creative ways.

ARKAN FEATURES

2-channel bi-polar VCA
Symmetrical signal boost up to 4x for gnarly audio and CV waveshaping
Asymmetrical bias waveshaping
Invert switch for each input
CV Input curvature lets you shape the signal and enhance the 0V attenuation
Chain multiple together with rear linking cables
Outputs are normalled

Get ready for something big!

Erica Synths Stereo Compressor Eurorack Module

sound demo video upload by Erica Synths

"Erica Synths Stereo Compressor is a THAT-chip based compressor with sidechain input.

Patches:

00:02 - Patch 1 / Using compressor on the master output of the LXR Drum module

00:47 - Patch 2 / Using compressor on synth sound with a lot reverb added and then sidechaining it with the dry synth sound to create ducking effect

01:48 - Patch 3 / Sidecahining FM radio with the Bassdrum

02:41 - Patch 4 / Using phase shifted LFOs on the sidechain inputs to create stereo effect

03:53 - Patch 5 / Using LXR Drum module individual out as a sidechain source for the compressor

04:48 - Patch 6 / Using drum break from the Sample Drum to sidechain the Wavetable VCO output

06:20 - Jam 1 / Compressing whole Techno System mix and sidechaining it with the Bassdrum output"

"Whether you need a bit of extra pressure for your drum sounds or just that extra touch to make your modular mix more nimble and tight, the Erica Synths Stereo Compressor will make your live performances a joy. The module is optimized for percussion sounds and will be a great addition to any Erica Synths Drum module rig. The Stereo sidechain can be used to animate melodic layers on the beat and to truly bring your Basslines to life."

Bastl Drum Kastle - Eurorack version(s)

video upload by John Schussler

"Bastl created the Drum Kastle as an offshoot of the Kastle portable sound maker. It's now available in Eurorack by a couple makers who've adapted it for the 3U format, with appropriate cv controls.

I was curious to see if there was much sound difference between the two, given they're working from the same basic circuit design. There are a few differences, but do they radically change the experience? Inquiring minds want to know.

No other modules involved. Just Kastles.
