"This Stinger has been repaired by James Walker at Synth Repair Services in the U.K. (both while at FX Music Control and subsequent). Unfortunately, I do not have access to a MIDI keyboard or appropriate 1/4" out for audio, so I am offering my Stinger as 'untested' as I cannot properly play and test it now. However, the power comes on when plugged in.
Included with the Stinger are an assortment of ICs that can be used in the future if needed. I collected spares 'just on case', and will send printed copies of the operations manual and other notes made wile examining the innards."

Phatt kick drums!!
It contains analog bass drums, from extremely powerful to soft and tender, and covers the whole range from 909-style to 808-fashioned. The MBase01 purposefully sounds different to the XBase09, making it a true expansion for the XBase09 and other analog percussion.
The kick sets in very precisely and the attack sounds very snappy in all kinds of sound variations.
The MBase01 can also be used as real bass since the decay can be lengthened and the pitch can be played on the keyboard in semitones over three octaves.
And we have another important feature included in a JoMoX bass drum: the kick drum can be triggered by an external analog trigger input. This could be any audio material , for example, a club vinyl or the electronic pads of a live drummer! There are no limits set for your joy of experimenting, creating and employment of sounds.'

"The Akai Professional MFC42 Analog Filter Module features 1 x stereo and 1 x mono filter channel which can be controlled independently, linked together or inverted. Each channel is selectable between any one of four filter types: Low pass, High pass, Band pass and Notch. The stereo channel features dual 2-pole or 4-pole filters and the mono channel has 2-pole, 4-pole or 8-pole selectable filters (maximum combination: four 2-pole filters total).
Both channels have independent input trim and programmable output level controls. The mono channel has an additional Pan control.
The MFC42 offers a modulation section with multi-waveform LFO ( sawtooth, square, triangle and random ) and ADSR Envelope generator that can be used to modulate the cutoff and/or resonance of either the stereo or mono channel, with a programmable depth control. The LFO can also modulate the L/R phase of the stereo channel.
The speed of the LFO can be controlled via the Rate knob, the Tap Tempo key, and it can be synchronized to external MIDI clock. "I spent my day converting an old toy drawer from my childhood into a small modular synthesizer frame for some Bugbrand modules.. This is the first test, with a chaotic feedback patch, just for fun.
The baby frame holds 7 frac-widths worth of modules plus power supply and distro. Currently I stuffed it with the following modules:

This one kind of reminded me of The Doors LA Woman for some reason, and the intro sounds to LA Woman below reminded me of Buchla.
"Another spin on this concept, drawing on some of the discoveries last time. Mainly this is about using the 251e as a trigger source, with 281e modulated clock division, using the envelope outputs as the clock outputs, and the 266e FRV to modulate the decay.
Bassline = 259e
Elec piano = 285e with null signal input and FM from 259e (output volume set to max).
Lead thing = 259e soft sync. (still not happy with this, but had to get on with life and call it good enough)."

5 track E.P. exploring random voltages.
All tracks are based on underlying drumtracks programmed with analog drummachines. In contrast to the drumlines, the synths are driven by numerous random voltage techniques, using a Buchla Source of Uncertainty, Serge SSGs, Ciat Lombarde gear and a Serge TKB. More randomness was created by crossmodulating sources. E.g.: The SSG used the respective drum machine noise as source for the S&H.
Tracks were not arranged, but recorded as multitrack and then mixed/muted later on an analogue desk.

Bizarre sci-fi synth tones & effects, with a photo-sensor vibrato way ahead of its time. In great working condition, well-maintained & ready to play. This awesome rarity is a great addition to anyone's collection.
This is Dubreq's professional version of their original Stylophone. The 350S is much larger, to be played on a table or rack rather than hand-held like the Stylophone. It has two styli, a 3.5 octave keybed, many effects & functions, plus a larger speaker. Only a few thousand of these were sold & they're quite collectible now.
Dubreq Ltd estimates all Stylophone 350S's in operable condition worldwide to be about 200-300. This is rare for any musical instrument. This unit is fully functional, and it sounds just weird, out of this world, a musical time warp.
