via Kenneth Eldhardt: "Even though I was informed by another forum member that somebody else chopped the legs down on a Polymoog and called it a coffee table, I'm not sure that really makes a legimate, functional, or asthetically pleasing coffee table. So I did a full Polymoog to coffee table conversion. It was a lot more work than I originally wanted to put into it, but it came out great and really makes a nice coffee table. Later it will go up on ebay. I don't have a decent living room setting, so I'll have to take it somewhere to get better pics in a nice living room, but for now it sits finished in my garage and in the initial pictures below."

via the AKAI S900 Blog: "I've gone crazy for months before finding a working way and even that suddently stopped working for apparently no reason for nearly one year. Now things are working fine but I bet there are many users out there that simply can't get the damn thing to work!
Since some of you contacted me privately telling me their desperation I decided to help people wanting to upload some samples into the machine. Send me your .WAVS and I'll send you back an image of a floppy with the sounds in it, so you can simply convert it into floppy using Omniflop and load it into the AKAI S900.
Limit for this free offer if of one floppy per person, as MIDI sample dump is SLOOOOOOW!"

This Phantastron was built for a customer from the same components & case parts in the kit. The phantastron has a great 30's all vacuum tube sound like an Ondes Martenot in the highs and a Trautonium in the low range.
Phantastron was recorded direct to camera. No effects used..."

I was so amazed at how accurately the x0xb0x recreates the sounds of the TB-303 that my x0x were literally blown off. Seriously. I was x0x-less while watching this interview. Take my advice and affix your x0x with x0x-garters before watching.
via Khoral: "I just stumbled across this Jarre fan site that I thought might interest the matrixsynth readers. It's in polish (I guess) and you get the traditional gear list of JMJ, but the catch to me is that the guy has recorded good quality examples of how some synths were used. For instance, JMJ used a lot of D50 factory presets on his Revolutions album, and you get recreations of the parts played with the original factory preset. All in all, a nice source of info about his use of gear, but also a good source of synth examples in general. Best regards Khoral www.khoral.net"

If this seems a lot like my previous video showing tuning of the LM-2, well..., I guess I was trying to make my LM-2 more like an LM-1. You can judge whether I succeeded.

images at this auction "The Drum Scape is a part of an ongoing body of work entitled "Quadrum", a series utilizing analog drum sounds. These works, especially the more current pieces are capable of big authentic analog sound and beautiful drone scapes.
This particular piece is a simplified version of the two other more recent works: the Impressionist Drum Scape and the Simian Drum Scape in that it is stripped of the delay section. It is, however, capable of the same sounds as heard in the sound samples of the Impressionist Drum Scape, subtract the delay, the internal synthesis is essentially identical. There are also several videos of the Simian Drum Scape that you should consider watching if you're interested as this piece does contain all of the same synthesis.
This particular piece has more drum pads, each of the metal plates is a trigger which activates one or more of the four primary waves. Each has a natural decay and with exception to the snare (white noise) each also has pitch control. Up to three waves can be played simultaneously for drone scapes.
In addition there are four jacks which act as triggers to sync to external modular synths or sequencers. Two switches have been added to hold waves for working with the drones. A 1/4" output, volume control, bright white lamp (not shown lit) and a power adapter."
