This is my 4th video performance on the Lawrence Public Library Modular Synthesizer. I played a volca beats through the modular for the percussive textures. I also processed the output of the modular through an old, warbly cassette deck."

"For sale is a rare PAiA Oz 3760, an old school poly-synth kit with a very distinctive sound. This early 1970s synth kit is assembled and portable. Needs work and I don't know it's playability. Case latches a little loose and top speaker decorative bezel is loose. Looks easily repaired, but I'm not equipped to do so.

The 1 1/3 octave keyboard is fully polyphonic and has a selectable five-octave range. As used by DEVO. The PAiA takes 9v batteries and has a built in speaker.

Background: PAiA Electronics, Inc. is an American synthesizer kit company that was started by John Simonton in 1967. The Humpback multimode voltage controlled filter is a 2-pole, CA3080 based implementation of the classic state variable architecture. The controls of the filter are as follows:

Filter cutoff – a hardwired DC voltage frequency control
CV inputs – two frequency CV inputs are included on the panel and controlled by attenutators.
Outputs – lowpass, bandpass, highpass and notch are available simultaneously
Signal input – one signal input is available on the panel
Resonance-resonance control is included and is hot-rodded to allow self-oscillation. In self oscillation the filter will produce a sine wave output."

New Delptronics LDB-2e Analog Drums Module Demo

"This is a demo of the Delptronics LDB-2e “Little Drummer Boy” Analog Drums Eurorack module.

It packs packs eight drum voices into only 6HP: kick, snare, low tom, hi tom, wood block, rim shot, and open and closed hi-hats. In the video, the drums are sequenced with the Delptronics Trigger Man module, but they can be triggered with any trigger or gate signal.

The LDB-2e is an update to our popular LDB-1e module. It is only 2HP wider and now includes the the individual volume controls and output jacks functionality of the old expansion module. The sounds are different too, so you don't have to sell your old module.

The LDB-2x expansion module (also shown) is totally new and gives you knob and CV control of the pitch of every drum, and the decay of the kick and open hi-hat. The video demonstrates these features using a pitch sequencer module.

The module uses totally analog circuitry, not samples. The audio was direct into the camera. No effects were used during or after recording.

Patch Notes #22 - Eurorack Sequencer in Ornament & Crime

"Patch Notes #22 explores the Quantermain mode in the polymorphic Ornament & Crime module, a 4 channel Eurorack pitch quantizer with 48 different scales and some amazing hidden features.

Ornament & Crime is in Quantermain mode, of course. Trigger3 and CV3 are receiving cv and clock out from the DU-SEQ, fitting the sequence into an Ionian scale and then out from channel C to the pitch input on the Noise Engineering Basimilus Iteritas. The clock for the sequencer as well as the pattern sequence for the BI are being controlled via Reaktor Blocks and the F1 controller seen in the distance.

The gate out on the DU-SEQ is routed to Mutable Instruments Braids trigger input. Channel D on the O&C is set to Turing Machine mode, instead of receiving pitch cv from another source. This mode randomizes a stepped series of cv voltages, and can freeze a certain number of steps and loop them. This mode is routed out from channel D to Braids. To enable some control over the randomization and looping, I routed a row on Make Noise Pressure Points to CV1 on the O&C and selected CV1 as the voltage source for the channel D Turing probability. A specific step on the PP is selected, so that corresponding knob can be used as a voltage offset, locking the random Turing sequence into a loop.

Braids is then routed out to the Vintage Synth Lab VCF-74, and on to the Mutable Instruments Warps running the Parasites alt firmware in delay mode. So beefy.

Another trigger sequence from Blocks is routed out of the Audio 10 DJ (NOT a DC coupled interface) to the Malekko ADLFO, which is controlling the noise hihat in the Roland Scooper. Yet another sequence is routed to the second channel on the ADLFO, with one envelope routed to the Scooper kick drum (see our Roland Aira Drum Machine tutorials) and a second envelope routed to the FM input on the Tiptop Audio Z-3000. The square wave out is routed to the Make Noise Optomix, which is also being modulated by an envelope on the ADLFO, and then down to the Malekko Mix 4 with the rest.

"For sale here is a Kawai K5000r rack synthesizer. This synth is not the most well know(n) but it has a very special sound and large range of capabilities. Definitely worth checking out. This unit is in excellent shape and fully functional. The screen is bright and easy to read (a bit hard to show it's brightness in the photos but it looks great in person). It also includes 10 disks (pictures of disks coming tomorrow). I've seen some of these disks sell for $50 each, so they add nice value.

Autumn Layers - Buchla 200e Improv 2016

"I built up a 200e patch - layers of functions and sounds that intertwine. Its allot like building up an instrument.... and instrument that has never existed. After its patched, its always interesting working through the "layers".

Here's an improv as I work through the layers of this patch.

Just iphone room recording. Instruments/gear used:

- Buchla 200e
- Roland RE-301 Tape Delay
- Kaleidoloop loaded with a 5 minute recording of me walking around Loch Ness
- Output of the 200e into an Eventide Space Reverb
