"Baldwin Syntha Sound for parts or repair. The sliders need to be replaced on this synth, some of them are completely broken, others are just very stiff or frozen. Currently it does make sound, only the "flutes" presets and they can be intermittent. The spring reverb appears to be working when played through the internal speakers with the flutes preset.

This synth likely needs alot of work, but it is incredibly rare."

Dark Arcade – a Low Cost Paraphonic Synthesizer Module

Published on Oct 15, 2018 the.room.dis.connect

Currently seeking funding on Kickstarter.

"Dark Arcade is a $120 paraphonic synthesizer with digital oscillators and an analog filter, amplifier, envelope generator, and LFO.

What is Dark Arcade?

Dark Arcade is intended to be an entry level hardware synthesizer for musicians looking to branch out from software synthesizer based workflows, as well as a distinctive addition to any hardware synthesizer collection. Its hardware features microcontroller-produced digital oscillators, an analog OTA band-pass and low-pass filter, an analog OTA amplifier, an analog ADSR envelope generator, an analog LFO, and MIDI input and output. External audio can be processed by the filter and amplifier section and external CV signals can be used to control the filter cutoff and amplifier gain. In addition to the hardware features, the software extends the feature list to include 4 voices of paraphony, 8-bit Karplus Strong synthesis, waveform blending, and many more. Below is a song produced with Dark Arcade in which all sounds (minus drums) are generated by Dark Arcade and then mixed with some basic effects (delay, reverb, and compression).

What features does Dark Arcade have?

CGS36 Pulse Divider / Boolean Logic module - AND Demo

Published on Oct 19, 2018 Lower West Side Studio

"Lower West Side Studio presents a quick and dirty demonstration in the use of the AND boolean logic feature of the Cat Girl Synthesizers CGS36 Pulse Divider / Boolean Logic module.

This example uses constant clock input on one AND input and a gate triggered by a MIDI keyboard on the second input. This is done to activate envelope generators on a keypress so the patch will play when desired"

New ACL - VC Dual Amp Eurorack Module

"High quality dual linear VCA with mixing function.

Audiophile Circuits League VC Dual Amp contains two fully discrete voltage controllable
amplifiers with linear characteristic. It is based on a new circuit design which delivers unheard
clarity of sound. To this day there is no other VCA using this special technique!

The module offers a very low harmonic distortion in the whole linear gain range, no crossover-
distortion and no overshoots nor ringing. Furthermore it has a very high dynamic range which

provides a lot of headroom. The VCAs will amplify the input signal very accurately and it will
sound crystal clear, without any coloration, distortion or bleed.

Each channel has a Gain potentiometer for manually setting the VCA's initial gain and a control
voltage input which is equipped with an attenuverter for scaling the modulation.

Thanks to normalized signal and CV inputs, both VCAs can be used in conjunction. - Great for
processing stereo material. Furthermore, you can create voltage controlled panning effects and
crossfades in next to no time.

Beside the two individual audio outputs from each VCA, there is a Sum-output which provides the
mix of the output of both VCAs and of the signal coming from the Aux-input. This additional input
has no level control and is mixed at unity gain. Thus three different signals can be mixed together.
The amplifiers are also suitable for processing control voltages thanks to a completely DC-coupled
signal path.

Behind its simple appearance, this module shines with its functionality and sound quality!

"The Qu-Bit Scanned is the first scanned synthesis eurorack module. To celebrate we made this video with it and a powerful black light. We also used Expert Sleepers glow in the dark cables for extra illumination. Scanned synthesis is a form of synthesis where a slow moving system is excited which is then scanned to create a constantly changing wavetable for an audio rate oscillator.

Yamaha EX5 FDSP / Water and Seismic

Published on Oct 19, 2018 Floyd Steinberg

"In this video, I'm taking a look at the Yamaha EX5's Synthesizer workstation's hilariously complicated "Water" FDSP effect and try to wrap my head around it to produce some useable (or at least, interesting) sounds while avoiding deadly signal spikes. Also, a short look at the "Seismic" FDSP effect, which is far more approachable.

Sequential Circuits PROPHET 5 synthesizer - sounds & presets【SYNTH DEMO】

Published on Oct 19, 2018 synth4ever

"Sequential Circuits Prophet 5 analog synth demo. Playing sounds and presets on vintage Prophet 5 analog synth from Sequential Circuits including pads, bells, polymod, filter and resonance tweaks. The Prophet 5 in this sound demo is a Revision 3.3.

The Sequential Circuits Prophet 5 synth was created by Dave Smith (from DSI/Dave Smith Instruments) and John Bowen, and manufactured from 1978-1984. Nearly 6,000 Prophet 5 synths were made in total, and three major revisions: revisions 1 and 2 used SSM chips, while the later revision 3 used Curtis chips.

The Prophet 5 has 5 voices of polyphony and was the first fully programmable polyphonic synth with an embedded microprocessor. It features 2 VCOs (square/pulse/tri/saw), 1 LFO, 4-pole resonant low pass filter, 2 ADSR envelopes, 61 keys, FM (Polymod) and can store between 40-120 patches (depending on model).

The SCI Prophet 5 is a legendary synth and commands high prices on the second hand market. It is known for having a warm, lush and brassy tone and for being very organic. The Prophet 5 has been used by many artists over the years on many hit records.

This Sequential Circuits Prophet 5 synthesizer demo was filmed at the Vintage Synthesizer Museum in Oakland, CA. Visit them at www.vintagesynthmuseum.com or watch the studio tour I did here:" [posted here]

"New LCD Display: The new display has LED backlight, and is much brighter than the original. The original display required a high voltage converter for the backlight which is prone to high pitched whining noise. The high voltage converter is now bypassed and there's no potential for any whining noise with the new display. The new display is therefore an improvement over the original.

New Disk Drive: A brand new Sony disk drive is installed. As seen in the pictures, the drive is fully operational and can load/save files from disk. As a bonus, there's a 26pin to 34pin interface adapter installed with the new drive, which will allow you to swap out the disk drive for a USB reader if you desire, so you can put all data on a USB stick instead of floppy disks."

X1L3 - DDX - circuit bent yamaha DD7 drum machine

Published on Oct 19, 2018 X1L3

"Intricate circuit bending techniques and another DDX demo. A DD7 in this instance. What and where in the description below.

A varied set starting out in the dark with some sludge laden ram glitch. Slow and obsessively tweaked on the filter and pitch to really let what the ddx can do in abstract percussive forms shine through. It then moves on to a more driven section to illustrate it in a more conventional but still mildly glitched format, finally fading out into the dark again with an even more ram glitched and pitched down section where how bizarre it can sound is allowed to shine.

Midi trigs are coming in from the DAW and a yarns midi interface in my euro rig is being used to generate the CV for the filter cut off and pitch. The key roll in the daw is used here to generate the cv levels which allows me to implement intricate stepping from hit to hit and so generate the cool glitchy sequences and incidentals heard in here.

All DD7 through the track. No support from percussion in the daw to nail down the rhythm as is the case on the DD6 demos. The DD6 is a less versatile machine with fewer sounds and a more 'rock' flavour to it. No less impressive but not quite so good on its own at nailing down a hard kick etc. The delay built into the DD7 is generatign a syncopated echo throught the track to add atmosphere to the sum of the slower sections.
