"So, I had no idea before today, but apparently the Pulsar 23 gives you two discrete delay lines if certain conditions are met. I wanted to explore some sounds, so I thought I'd invite you along. You brought ice cream, right?"

Roland U-110/20/220 | A dream for the gigging musician in the late 80s

video upload by Espen Kraft

"Roland released the U-series in the late 80s and instantly they became keyboards that a lot of gigging and amateur musicians really embraced.

My demo song here uses sounds from all three romplers. I use both internal effects from the romplers as well as external reverb. Some sounds, like the piano, have been compressed really hard in the mix to get that "house" sound to it.
The drums, again, only from the stock factory sounds, has been treated with a lot of compression and external effects to cut through.
All the parts you see me play in the opening are recorded as I was recording the sounds themselves, into the DAW for mixing."

"Kind of strange to say that this is a rare bird nowadays.

Fully functional Yamaha DX-9. This essentially the 4-operator version of the DX7 DX5 DX1 Yamaha DX Family

Battery has been placed with a new cr2032 battery holder and patches loaded in.

The left end cheek has been damaged but it’s just a cosmetic defect. The left end cheek can easily be replaced with a donor part or maybe some custom wood-end cheeks (available from some eBay seller in Europe)."

Memorymode Patching Demo

video upload by boxoftextures

"I love this thing. When I was in my 20s I suppose this was *the* polysynth. Yes, I know there were others, but this was the one I always wanted but I had no chance of being able to afford one. So when Memorymode came out I jumped on it immediately. Is it the same as the original? Not sure, but I think that's the wrong question. And the answer is that Memorymode feels like the original and can make the patches I've always wanted to make. And hey, it costs about $8,000 or $12,000 less than the original to boot, so I'm not complaining at all.

In a way I don't have all that much to say about this synth, other than that it's easy to program and sounds great. Three thick oscillators, nice filter, and some decent modulation capabilities (a little limited, but hey, that's how things were in the '80s). Plus, I can toss it in my backpack, which is something you could never do with the 70 pound original.

Recommended.

Review Arturia Microlab: teclado controlador USB compacto, para fazer música em qualquer lugar

video upload by Marcus Padrini

"Nem sempre é possível andar por aí com um controlador de 61 ou 88 teclas, cheio de knobs e faders no painel. Muitas vezes o espaço que temos no estúdio ou a necessidade de produzir em qualquer lugar pede algo compacto, fácil de transportar e simples de usar. É exatamente essa a ideia do Arturia Microlab! Neste review, eu apresento mais detalhes desse controlador de 25 teclas, extremamente compacto e plug & play."

Can a Modern Synth Inspire New Ideas?

video upload by Alex Ball

"I was offered a loan of a Super 6 from UDO Audio, which I jumped at.

As its features and functions have been covered brilliantly on other YouTube channels, I thought instead that I'd pose a question: Can a modern synth inspire new ideas?

In the video I try to explore that using some of what the Super 6 has to offer."

Erica Synths Introduces New Standalone Desktop Matrix Mixer Based on the Syntryx

Plugging in to the Matrix Mixer by Erica Synths video upload by Synth Diy Guy

"A whole new way to patch a modular, with endless mults and mixers, presets saving, randomization and more. I take a deep dive and devise some strategies for using this powerful tool."

"As Eurorack users may know, it can be challenging to change a patch radically during a performance, therefore diverse performances require large systems or they end up being extremely experimental. But what if you could repatch your system with the push of a single button? The Erica Synths Matrix Mixer is a 16 – input, 16 - output desktop patch matrix – it can route and mix signals with high precision, create buffered multiples and random patches. It can also interface external instruments with your Eurorack system, and – it’s not limited to Eurorack!

You can use the Matrix Mixer with semi-modular synthesizers, as well as through adapter cards with the EMS Synthi and Buchla Music Easel. Thanks to simple patch changes via panel buttons or MIDI program change messages, the Matrix Mixer will be particularly useful in performances that combine Eurorack and other performance instruments, such as drums, guitars, wind instruments, etc. Make your modular performance stand out and enjoy the Matrix Mixer!

F e a t u r e s:

All analogue signal path
16 buffered, DC coupled inputs
16 independent, buffered, DC coupled outputs
256 connections, each with 3 attenuation levels
Random pattern mode with definable randomization area and density
254 pattern memory
Pattern change via MIDI program change messages
32 3,5mm jack sockets
4 6,3mm jack sockets

RRP: 490 EUR

SOMA Pulsar-23 + IK Uno Synth Pro

video upload by Robin Rimbaud-Scanner

"A little sonic conversation between the SOMA Pulsar-23 + IK Uno Synth Pro in the studio today. Nothing grand, nothing spectacular. It was hot, sticky and reached 34.5C degrees, which believe me was hot enough for me to remove my jacket and take my socks off. Don't worry though, I remained in black clothing still 😀 Just a little bit of studio fun to share with you."

Generative & Experimental Patches for Moog Mother-32. Ambient & Techno Jam. Sound demo/No Talking.

video upload by Anton Anru

"«Probability» is a collection of 20 generative patches. This genre of sound design is very popular inside modular culture, and Mother-32 suggests a good set of features to enter this club.
🎧 Get the soundset: https://bit.ly/3x756yg

Controlled chaos and randomness, probability, non-repetitiveness, tempo break, pattern uniqueness, short and long sounds alternation, unexpected changes, silence and density, harmonic and fx-like tones, freaky splashes during a sequence - all these things are included in the soundset.

Generative timbre may be a good addition to (or a lead part of) ambient or techno tracks, jams and performances. You may also record fragments into your DAW or sampler, splice it to one-shots or make loops - you’ll get a unique material for further processing.
You need up to 10 patch cords to recreate the patches.

🔊 Mother-32 - Progressive (35 Patches), Probability (20 Patches), Expressive Bass (10 Patches), Cheat Sheet PDF
🎶 Subharmonicon - Undertones (50 Patches)
🥁 DFAM - Techno Generator (50 Patches)

Ocean Noise Generator - Analog Relaxation Beast

video upload by SyntherJack

"Ocean Noise Generator (as the name says) generates stereophonic ocean-like noise, by simulation of background noise and different kinds of waves ("close" and "far"). The device is built around 2 white noise generators, 4 filters (to get pink and kind of hi-frequency boosted pink noise), 4 VCAs controlled by 4 LFOs with variable waveshape and modulation depth. By mixing generated signals you can go from waterfall-like sound to gentle sea or storm if you like. All this is 100% analog.

Originally, the main usage was supposed to be ambient mixes for chill out-zones, but it greatly will serve as well as a home relaxation device, may be also useful for yoga classes. As the white/pink noise generators quality is not bad, will work as a backup, two-channel, generator for simple measurements."

Reflections | Using regular sound files with Tasty Chips ECR-1

video upload by Cinematic Laboratory

"A convolution reverb uses recordings of a reflected sound (e.g. a gunshot) in a room or space, thus creating super realistic reverbs. However, you can also use any sound file to create spaces that will never exist in real life. In this video, I've been using the new 'angel hair' Morphagene reel which was recently posted by MakeNoise to create rooms which were originally sliding windows, toy trucks running from a playground ramp and crushed angel hair spaghetti falling down on a vibraphone. Rings and Strega were used as voices, Desmodus Versio provided some regular reverb when ECR-1 was doing the unreal rooms. You can download the reel here: https://freesound.org/people/makenois..."
