Intellijel Cascadia - Patching in the FX Section
video upload by Intellijel
"Who ever said FX pedals were just for guitars?
Cascadia has a dedicated FX section for patching in pedals and line level FX processors. No need for adapters or weird cables - ¼” jack sockets for Send, Return and Expression control can be found on the back of Cascadia, with complete signal control to ensure the best possible match up. Cascadia works great with delay, reverb, distortion, chorus.. Pretty much whatever FX you have to hand. Matt explains how this all works while partnering Cascadia with some of our favourite pedals. What are your favourite FX for synthesizers? Let us know in the comments!

The Brutal Ambient Synth: Neutral Labs Elmyra 2 Demo
video upload by mylarmelodies
"Elmyra 2 is a hybrid digital/analogue desktop synth/eurorack module suited to making dusty and brutal ambient strings, drones, pads and chords, and in this demo I'm using it to accompany three Moog DFAMs, Mother-32 & Subharmonicon. 90's warp music fell out of this setup. Vibes were had. I had a good time.
Extra stereo reverb was provided by the Universal Audio Golden Reverberator set to Lexicon 224 Hall. The dusty delay is built-in!"

The Silent Alchemist is an isolated USB Power hub, this Before and After looks at noise removal.
video upload by myVolts
"The Silent Alchemist is currently live on Kickstarter here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...
In this video, we look at how this power hub, built for musicians and mobile professionals can remove noise caused by ground loops from your setup.
This was recorded by taking the output of the Bastl Dude and connecting it directly into the sound input the camera filming it. (Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K).
No changes were made to levels on setup or camera.
No post-processing of audio on either Before or After were carried out.
Gain was added within the setup on the Bastl Dude, but this setting was not changed between Before and After shots.
Other than changing the power source (Hub vs Silent Alchemist) no physical changes were made to the setup, other than giving the two pedals their own power connection (in the before setup they share a daisy-chained from the Volca).
The setup comprises of a Korg Volca (9V+) NTS1 (USB-micro), Two pedals, Respira and Avalanche run (9V-), and Bastl Dude mixer (12V +.)."

"One of the rarer ones in the line up, somewhere between a 700s and an MS-20, featuring the amazing Traveler filter, superb sounding ring mod and very unusual chromatically playable noise.
Imported from Japan in 2018, professionally serviced then and fitted with a Kenton Kit allowing external CV/Gate/Low Pass Cutoff Frequency control, under the Korg standard, so you need a Hz/V (as opposed to 1V/Oct) capable interface, like Kenton boxes, Arturia Keystep, various options in Eurorack...
Great cosmetic condition, no missing metal ring to any of the knobs, which seems to have happened to a lot of those. A noticeable chip to one wood side, otherwise only a few regular micro paint chips and dings, clean example overall.
Great working condition, amazing sound."

Roland Jupiter-8 real time sound design | How to make great pads
video upload by Espen Kraft
"Programming synths has been my life for over 35 years. I'm good at it and I always enjoy it.
Most of my sounds and patches are made so they will fit in nicely with other sounds in an arrangement. Not too thin or to thick in the frequency spectrum. Sounds must blend well with each other.
I have a set of chord structures and intervals I often play through to find the sweet spot of any sound I'm working on. This video shows how I work in the final stages of a patch. The release time of the envelopes, the filter, filter envelope and oscillator detuning. It all comes into play (literally) when finding that sweet spot and small adjustments can change a lot.
The ability to detune Osc 1 from Osc 2 (on synths that have two or more oscillators) is always tempting as the sound will fatten up, but it can easily turn a usable sound to unusable as it takes up too much space and with Roland synths and a saw waveform, it will turn the sound into a "supersaw" which in turn will make everything sound like "Trance", which is not good if you're doing 80s pop. Be very careful about detuning oscillators like that.
When I'm creating a sound or patch I have one rule I live by; Could I use this sound in my OWN music? If the answer is yes, then the sound is ready.

Serge Modular | Episode 02 | Voices and Utilities
video upload by Cinematic Laboratory
"I wish I could do this all day. Building a Serge system in eurorack is great fun, and the same applies to figuring it out. I've been running this channel for a while know and I assumed I knew a lot. In EP01 I knew nothing and I could hide behind fancy animations. In this episode I still don't know enough to dive deep but I've figured out there are 4U voice- and utility panels. Most of them can be directly translated to eurorack and in this episode I've 'built' a La Bestia II (with some missing parts).
A deep compare with Maths is unavoidable, so we're going to compare Maths with DUSG again. I shouldn't do this, but Serge modules have rise and falls all over the place and they sound totally different. Indeed, they're designed to double as full featured VCO's with varishape waveforms, AM and FM. They can filter, and work as VCA's or LPG's. This is called 'patch programmability'. So what's on the panel isn't necessarily what the module is for. Without direction, a dual slope means nothing.

GForce impOSCar3 Mini Demos
video upload by GForce Software
"At the heart of GForce‘s impOSCar3 lies the design of the legendary British hardware synth. Like the original, its hybrid architecture combines the precision of digital oscillators with the warmth of analogue filters, providing a wide range of sonic possibilities.
Craft expansive, lush, dark or ambient pads, resonant bells, and precise leads with this exceptional recreation. The finely tuned filter, aligned with the new wavetable editor, blends the best digital clarity with an unparalleled analogue richness. If that’s not enough, switch to poly-unison for a true wall of sound. Prepare to be surprised."

Groove Synthesis 3rd Wave first impression and walkthrough
video upload by MIDERA
"A few notes: I think it's clear that the OS version on this unit is not current. I'll figure out what it is later and post it, but looking at the website it appears that it now has poly unison - something I wasn't able to use in the video. I'm also hoping it fixes whatever happened with 'Make Waves' where it crashed twice. I read up on it later and this is for recording incoming sounds to 'make waves' and was arming the input. However, I do think it should allow me to exit, so I hope other owners can chime in and say whether that's been 'fixed' (if there is indeed something off with what happened to me).
Again, please realize I basically spent zero effort looking into this before playing it. Think of this as your friend testing this out in the most likely way that you might do so yourself before using it.
Also note - that because I didn't spend any money on it (this is borrowed) it's very easy for me to be dismissive of certain features. If I pine after something for months and then get it, I usually feel like I can 'trick myself' into believing it's the most amazing thing in the world. Although - that's possibly not entirely accurate, because when I got the Prophet 10, I kind of hated it for how much I spent. I have grown to love that thing as a top 5 synth I've ever used... but when I don't put any money into it, I can see myself saying 'Well, cool, but what's the point?' And that sort of thing could give it a negative spin on something, especially when the only thing I know about it is that it's like a modern PPG.
I'm now sitting here wondering if I could have held the source and destination, LFO, and other buttons and twisted the controls to 'connect' things easier - that would be nice, but something that didn't occur to me during this first video.
No external FX used. I chose not to in this video because, well, it has FX."
