ROAT is an 8-bit experimental oscillator inspired by the Soma "Rumble of Ancient Times" synthesizer.

It includes 4 oscillators that can be triggered independently, by pressing 4 different zones of the keyboard, or recording a step sequence.

Combining oscillator activation with the different settings per oscillator (pitch, shape, LFO) and different combination algorithms, and adding randomization and chaos, gives you a wide range of sonic possibilities, from melodic to digital noise.

This surface makes it easier to play LinnStrument by feel instead of by sight. Each row is shaped like a long speedbump, which has three benefits:

Guides fingers to stay on target during long pitch slides

Provides confident tactile feedback when shifting a finger up/down between rows or hitting a double stop

Allows more intentional Y expression by feeling for the front, back, or crest of the bump

The grooves are centered over the top of the notes, instead of on the boundaries. The way the finger can feel when it's on target.

The root note bumps or dots have been removed to make alternate tunings easier.


This surface is great for playing LinnStrument with eyes closed or playing with two hands.

The composition process involved us improvising with loopers using mainly Buchla Modular Synthesizer, RD-9, TD-3 for Acid House vibes, Roland SP404 MKII, and 2 Space Echoes on the vocals. The looping performance was ultimately recorded to 1/4" Reel to Reel Tape. We like to call it Cosmic Tape Music, but this one is in the vein of Classic House Music from the 80s."

"Exceptionally rare EMS Synthi Sequencer 256 - AKA "The Synthi Moog Sequencer"

Here we have one of the rarest items produced by EMS, it was incredibly expensive while in production, think of it as 3 layers of CV recording - you can record and play back CVs from external envelope generators, Pitch to CV converters, random voltage generators (etc.) or its own built in keyboard.

If you are interested in history, this particular Synthi Sequencer is serial #001 making it possibly the first production digital sequencer assembled and sold by EMS. I updated this unit to later spec while under restoration, original cables and components are included with this sale along with a manual and service documents I purchased from EMS in Cornwall.

Please note: The DK1 keyboard in the photo is shown for scale and is not included with this sequencer, however it is available in another listing.

Condition:

This synthi has recently been restored and calibrated. It is very clean but exhibits signs of its age such as wood chips and scratches. Contact me for more details on the condition and restoration."

Uaxactum marks the fifth studio album from Glasgow-based artist Tom Scholefield, better known as Konx-om-Pax.

Following 2020’s Astronomical Objects, this release transcends the boundaries of a traditional record—serving as the sonic counterpart to an ambitious audio-visual work of the same name, commissioned by Glasgow’s Cryptic.

Conceived during an artist residency at Arthouse Jersey, a former army barracks turned creative haven, the album emerged from a period of focused isolation. This environment afforded Scholefield the rare opportunity to develop both score and visuals in tandem, resulting in a deeply integrated multisensory experience. The piece premiered at Sonica 2024 in the Glasgow Science Centre IMAX Theatre, where hallucinatory visuals collided with immersive sound design. A second performance followed in May 2025 as part of the Glasgow 850 celebrations.

The Wire described the work as -

'a tentacular dreamscape where oil slick rainbow colours mutate across an IMAX cinema screen, in synesthetic flow with his tense Penderecki-inspired soundtrack.'"

"In this video, I walk through three practical grain-processing techniques for beat makers using granular synthesis. Instead of the usual pads and soundscape examples, I’m focusing on drums and rhythmic material — showing how grains can shape feel, create modulation effects, add tonal character, and even move into wavetable-style synthesis.

These examples use loops from Joshua Van Tassel, part of the upcoming Odd-1 factory library. The Odd-1 is a modular grain synthesizer we’ve been developing at Oddment, and all of these techniques can be recreated directly on the hardware.

Techniques covered:
• Tempo-locked grains for changing the feel
• Grain-size modulation and rhythmic dropouts
• Tonal effects using closely spaced grains
• Wavetable-like sounds from tiny slices of audio

If you’re interested in granular synthesis, drum processing, time-stretching, or experimental beat-making techniques, you’ll probably find something useful here.

"Meet the TRIAX 8 , an oscillator like no other, featuring 16 analog triangle-core oscillators with full note polyphony and patching. The TRIAX8 is a landmark in synthesis technology, combining true polyphonic patching and full note polyphony with the creative and joyful hands-on workflow of a modular synthesizer. Every function has its own knob, and all modulation inputs are ready for patching with patch cables. Beneath this interface lie 16 true analog oscillators, real circuits built from semiconductors, capacitors, and resistors, each one alive, drifting naturally with temperature and with the magnetic and electric fields they generate. This is the sound of analog: full, warm, organic, and never the same twice.

In this demo, we showcase just a glimpse of what the TRIAX8 is capable of, and how easy it is to design sounds through instant patching. We focus mainly on pads and drones, with a touch of arpeggios. A note about video sound quality:
YouTube plays compressed audio, which significantly affects sound quality. Compared to the original recording, the audio will generally sound muddier and harsher in the highs. However, it still provides a good sense of the character and tone of the demoed device.

Patch Overview for this video: For modulation, we used the OCTOLFO to randomly patching LFO signals into the TRIAX 8’s CV inputs. The audio output was routed through the OCTPASS 24 dB low-pass filter and then into the OCTOGAIN. From the OCTOGAIN’s stereo outputs, the sound was sent to the Z-DSP, where some patches feature reverb or delay from the Z-DSP. For control, we played notes from Ableton through the Octopus, or used G-Mode sequencing on the Octopus and NerdSeq."
