"This is a holy grail synth. Truly the heart of early Gary Numan/Tubeway Army's sound. This was Moog's first attempt at a proper polyphonic synth. It is a real classic! Two oscillators per voice, a stunning filter, and an unrivaled warmth are the key to the Polymoog's lasting mystique. These rarely come around, so take advantage of this opportunity! In very good condition, tested and found to be functioning as it should. Comes with the original foot pedals."

MJ’s “Thriller” Monster Growl Bass | Synth Breakdown

video upload by Anthony Marinelli

"Join me for a detailed breakdown of how to create the Monster Growl Bass from Michael Jackson's iconic song "Thriller". I programmed this big "phat" swooping bass sound on a Minimoog Model D synthesizer while in the room with Michael, album producer Quincy Jones, songwriter Rod Temperton and keyboard player Greg Phillinganes. We'll get into all the settings that you'll need to know whether you have a hardware synth or plug-in. Also, the techniques I discuss about creating sounds can be applied to any style of music.
This sound occurs only one time in the song (at the end of the bridge) but serves as an important example about thinking dramatically when arranging and orchestrating. Rod Temperton employed this mind set when orchestrating and arranging throughout the Thriller album. Every sound serves a specific function that's related to the sound(s) before it and that's related to the listeners emotions. This is key lesson I learned working with Quincy and Rod. In this case the Monster Growl Bass is a one-time featured sound that kicks off the ever elevating and evolving 2nd half of the song."

One of my favorite tracks from the 80s.
Tonight, Tonight, Tonight by Genesis (1986)
Written by Tony Banks, Phil Collins and Mike Rutherford
Invisible Touch album

featured the Yamaha DX7 II FD, the Moog Taurus bass pedal, Linndrum and Simmons Drums

This cover song series contains my own recreations of my favourite songs from the last 50 years. The original music from which I take inspiration belong to their respective owners. I recreate tracks only for personal passion and to pay homage to these tracks.
My intention is not to create covers that sound exactly like the original (if you want to hear identical sounds, please listen the original). It's more of an inspiration with my sounds from the old synthesizers from the past and of course the great appreciation for the original performers and producers.
Check out the original songs with the original artists here on YouTube.
Thank you."

The Venerable Moog Memorymoog - Inspiration for the Moog Muse?

video upload by Vintage Synthesizer Solutions

"Please join us while we explore the infamous, but actually quite venerable Moog Memorymoog synthesizer. As is widely recognized, the Memorymoog was developed too late and was rushed to the market. By 1982/83, the era of extremely expensive flagship analog polysynths being ubiquitously adopted by professional musicians and studios was coming to an end. Synths like the Sequential Prophet 5, Oberheim OB-X/Xa, & Roland Jupiter 8 had dominated the market, but new digital technology - both in synthesis and sampling, was quickly gaining a substantial foothold in the music industry. The Memorymoog was notorious for reliability issues right out of the box while innovative instruments like the Yamaha DX7 were cheaper, much more reliable, and had a unique new sound.

In hindsight and considering the analog renaissance we've expereinced of late, one can evaluate the Memorymoog from a different and more forgiving perspective... It sounds absolutely fantastic and offeres an incredibly unique & fat tone relative to competetive products of both its era and modern times. Additionally, once a competent technician has sorted common issues with the power supply/fan, connectors, etc. the instrument can be quite reliable from a functionality and tuning standpoint.

The audio is DIRECT, with a just a touch of OTO Bam reverb added on an aux bus - You are hearing the raw audio as it comes directly from the synthesizer. There is NO EQ, Dynamics, etc. Listen on good headphones or monitors!

Thank you so much for watching! This channel is a passion project. These videos are recorded off the cuff. We are just two hobbyists who share a deep passion for synthesizers."

via The Bob Moog Foundation

"The Bob Moog Foundation is excited to announce the recent addition of a rare Moog muSonics Minimoog Model D synthesizer to our collection.

Donated on behalf of the late Philip A. DiTullio, the synthesizer is a physical representation of the transition from R.A. Moog Inc to muSonics in 1971. On the front of the instrument, the synthesizer has the muSonics logo, while the back mentions it was built in Trumansburg, New York, meaning this specific Minimoog was likely built by R.A. Moog Inc, but later sold by muSonics following the change in ownership, and relocation of the company to Buffalo, NY.

Originally owned by producer Charles Stepney, who famously worked with artists like Earth, Wind & Fire, Ramsey Lewis, The Emotions, and Deniece Williams, this Minimoog was later acquired by DiTullio. As an avid lover of music, DiTullio would go on to found the Schillinger Society, an organization focused on preserving and promoting the work of Joseph Schillinger, a composer and music theorist who collaborated with Léon Theremin and created the Schillinger System of Musical Composition.

The Bob Moog Foundation is incredibly grateful for this unique donation, which will help convey the intricacies of the Moog legacy to the tens of thousands of people who visit the Moogseum.

If you have any items that you would like to donate to the Bob Moog Foundation Archives, please contact us. You can also find out more about our vast and growing archive here.

Visit the Moogseum soon for a chance to see this rare and historic Minimoog Model D."

"This Memorymoog is fully functional and in great condition. It is in cosmetically great condition but is functionally excellent. It includes factory new DoubleHeartAudio power supply.

The Memorymoog is a powerful vintage polyphonic synthesizer released in 1982. It features 6 voices, 3 VCO's per voice, Moog's signature 24 dB/oct lowpass VCF, and 100 patches of memory. It boasts flexible modulation routing with it's dedicated LFO that offers multiple waveforms, and selectable destinations including individual VCO's for pitch & pulsewidth, and filter cutoff. It also offers routing for Oscillator 3 for audio rate modulation or a second LFO."

Background Modulars No.4 - Moog Modular

video upload by Memetune Studio

"Can't find a vintage Moog Modular 3C system to create a self-generating patch on? No worries! Just put this video on in the background (in full-screen mode), and have the next best thing 😁

This patch uses 10 VCOs, 3 VCAs, 4 envelopes, 1 filter, 2 sequencers, a VC Delay, a noise going through the Fixed Filter Bank, some sub-mixers, a slew and a stereo Matrix Mixer to create a slowly evolving, slightly haunting ambient tone poem"
