"Hurray!! @9.9_woodshop finished the modifications to my stand so my Perfourmer fits up there now and I just love it. Feels great to use in that position and my desk is all cleaned up again :)

This jam is pretty fun! Kept it short and simple, but had fun tweaking the kit defaults on this. Came together rather quick but I think it works!

[29 Kits Challenge! Roughly each day for a month I will be making a jam using each of the 29 preset kits that come with the Digitakt 2 as an exercise and for fun, featuring the Vermona Perfourmer MK2. I can't change any samples, but don't have to use them all and can manipulate their parameters at will.]

"First video featuring the Vermona DRM-1 8-voice analog drum synth 😊 For a long time I've been stopping myself from getting one as I already have the MAM ADX-1 which is a bit an ancestor of this DRM-1! But the Vermona Perfourmer was feeling a bit lonely 😅

In this video, I decided to use my DAW to sequence both instruments as I wanted to be able to "play" the knobs on the instruments 😉

The track starts with the BASS (Voice 1 of the Perfourmer) and PLUCK (Voice 3 panned left & voice 4 panned right, of the Perfourmer through the H9 reverb). Then comes the KICK (Voice 1 of the DRM1) which is going into the Pill ducking pedal to trigger it.
Afterwards arrives the LEAD (Voice 3 of the Perfourmer through the Bigsky reverb + Pill ducking pedal) and the 7 other voices of the DRM1 (wanted initially to use them through the Particle granular delay, but didn't have enough time to blend it in! 😅).

"First i demo a few patterns I programmed along some of the functionalities like "flam" (which affects either toms or snares depending on the state of the dedicated switch), "solo", "fill", "bass only", "second rhythm". Then I program a pattern on the fly to show how straightforward it is to do (either in "TR" recording or in realtime). After that I demo the presets of the unit and finally I hooked the Vermona to a Roland TR8S to use the latter as a MIDI pad and sequencer to play the DRM's sound."

"Analog drum machine from East Germany, often tagged as the "east block TR-808". I think it deserves better than this comparision, since it's a very nice sounding drum machine on its own, with many features for the time (MIDI, optional trigger input and individual outputs etc)

Unit was serviced, calibrated and is in fully working order. You could argue some switches sometimes mis trigger or double trigger but nothing major, and quite normal for a 40 years old technology.

Cosmetic is in very good condition with some wear of course."

"Almost all of this is from the Tanzbar 2. The Vermona does not actually create as much of the drive/distortion as you might think, as the Tanzbar 2 has a secret weapon in the onboard (but almost hidden) bit crusher, plus the very dirty filters that very quickly sound crunchy when you trigger what should be melodic samples through them. The LEPLOOP just adds a small amount of synth stuff at the end. I enjoyed this one a lot hence all the camera nonsense."

"Power supply recapped, 3 prong cord attached, refurbished by the magicians at Bell Tone Synth Works in 2022. This synth is ready for another few decades of lush stringing.

This is a classic string synth like the ARP Solina, but with more features.

The keyboard is split in the middle so that you can have a different mixture of Cello, Viola, and Violin and different Attack and Sustain settings for each section. There is also a bass oscillator and a feature called “perc” which is a deep, percussive sound similar to an upright bass.

This Logan String Melody II is in good cosmetic condition. The tolex is a bit worn, but is in overall great shape. The Veneer has a few splits or cracks. There is some minor dirt and scratches, as to be expected with a 40-year-old synth!"

Besides deciding on a scale and having an idea of the notes to play for each instrument, this was improvised. It was also unquantized and played in free time. I switched each sequence into 'Walk' mode, which is semi-random and adds an element of chance in terms of how the 4 sequences will interact."

No mixing desk, the Prophet 6 and Prophet 12 went through the internal mixer and effects of the Digitakt.
Only factory samples were used on the Digitakt.
The output of the Digitakt was recorded into Logic Pro X via an A Designs Pacifica preamp and Apogee Duet 2 audio interface (with preamps bypassed)"

From scratch - Needles 🧵 (Perfourmer Mk2 + Superego+ + H9 // Deco v2 // Simplifier Dlx // Hapax)

"This is a 'from scratch' jam featuring only one instrument, the Vermona Perfourmer Mk2, 4-voice analog synth. I've used its individual outputs for the BASS which is being saturated with the Deco v2 pedal, and LEAD through the Simplifier Dlx analog amp.
The PLUCK riff is being fed into the Superego Plus synth-freeze engine and H9 delay.

The PLUCK and BASS are being sequenced and the LEAD played live on the Hapax hardware sequencer.

I used the RANDOMIZER and SCALE MIDI effects of the Hapax in order to transpose occasionally and randomly the PLUCK (for the riff to be a bit more interesting 😊).
The PLUCK is also being turned sometimes into a PAD when I activate (green button) the Superego+ pedal."
