Invasion of the PolyKrell 1

Published on Nov 16, 2014 jdanielcramer

"Invasion of the PolyKrell, a video description of my Krell style modular synth patch in which I create a generative melodic voice accompanied by a polyphonic chordal voice. An ever changing function, modulated by a complex engine of control voltages, is used to generate the phrasing and timing of the melody and chords resulting in an organic breathing ensemble. Key modules include the Intellijel Shapeshifter, uFold, uMod, Korgasmatron, Doepfer A-149, A-148, A-160, Livewire AFG, Dalek and Vulcan."

bubbleosund Introduces New Dual ADSR Eurorack Module Based on Roland M-140 & SH-101

Published on Oct 10, 2014 bubblesoundmodular's channel

"The first demo of bubblesound's dual ADSR. A VCOb and uLFO being sequenced from X0Xbox. The gate is going into the dADSR, the 4ms PEG and the Rotating Clock Divider and Multiplier. 1 VCA4p acting as a mixer for the 2 oscillators, mix out into channel 4 of the VCA, dADSR going into the CV for channel 4, out to the SeM20 and back into a second VCA4p. High Pass out from the SeM20 into the Wow and Flutter which goes into the second VCA. mix out to a speaker. The 4ms modules are doing clock multiplication and division for the FMing and for the gate of the dADSR."

"The dADSR is clone of the Roland M-140 module, and are very similar to those in the SH-101. As a transistor based EG, it's very responsive and snappy. The perfect companion to the VCA4p.

In addition there are 2 LFOs acting as clocks, one for each EG. There are 2 LFO outs per EG, a Triangle and a Square. The LFO operates independently from the Gate, so when using an external Gate to drive the EGs there is still an LFO available. The Inverted Gate outputs are just what they sound like, an inverted version of whatever is coming into the Gate input, either the internal Square wave or an external Gate.

The Output section has the standard 0-8V and inverted outputs of most EGs, but there is also a +-5V out for modules that accept bi-polar modulation like the SeM20. These are also good for FMing VCOs and anything else you
might use an LFO for. The Mix section is simply that; the two normal, inverted and +-5V outs get mixed for more complex envelopes.

With 2 EGs, 2 LFOs with 2 outs each and 9 Envelope outputs this is the most versatile and dense analog EG out there.

Width - 16HP
Depth - 40MM

LFO range - 15 Seconds - 300Hz

EG Specs
Attack - 1.5MS - 4 seconds
Decay - 4MS - 12 seconds
Sustain - 0-10V
Release - 4MS - 12 seconds"

MODULAR SYNTH JAM #10 - Lost In Chords

Published on Jul 21, 2014 DivKidMusic

"So here's the latest in my extended vine style jams with the mentality of 'this is pretty cool I'll film it'. Got really lost in this one and a lot more to it than some of the simpler jam videos. 4 fully independent voices create some chords. Full patch notes below (best I can remember and from notes, to add that white noise was mixed in a few places too)

PATCH NOTES -

Voice 1 is Livewire AFG square sub, triangle and animated saw going into STG .mix then into Livewire Frequensteiner filter in low pass mode before going into a final STG .mix as an output mixer.

Voice 2 is Synthesis Tech E350 going into Doepfer A-189 Bit Modifier into a Synthrotek EKO then into Mutable Instruments Ripples then mixer.

Voice 3 is Mutable Instruments Braids Intro Malekko Borg 2 filter mixed with white noise into Doepfer A-199 Spring Reverb into output mixer.

Sequence is from the 4ms SCM and breakout clocking the Make Noise Brains and Pressure Points sending top row of pitch to ADDAC 207 Quantizer. The top row of Pressure Points is quantised and sent to the Livewire AFG. The second quantizer out is set to an interval of a third and passed onto the E350. Channel 3 on the quantizer takes input from Pressure Points middle and bottom row going into a switch to create a 16 step sequence. This then goes into the Braids.

Turing Machine is clocked to x8 the clock pulse and sends the random sequence out to a Malekko 8nu8r attenuator before going to the E350 y Morphing. The Turing Machine sequence is also multed through a stackable into the Ripples filter cut off modulation. The Turing Machine Voltages expander sends it's sequence to the Livewire Frequensteiner filter.

A Bubblesound uLFO sends modulation to AFG animated saws and E350 Morph X. Aswell as a Frequency Central Ultra Wave distort input to bend the Ultra Wave waveform output. It also send FM into a Intellijel Dixie in LFO mode.

Frequency Central Ultra wave is clocked from the 4ms SCM and is modulating a uLFO shaped sine output which goes to the E350 and also modulates another animated waveform modulation point of the AFG.

An Intellijel Dixie sends zig zag waveform modulation to the Braids Timbre and is FM'd from the uLFO. Braids also receives sine wave modulation of the colour through an attenuator from a second Dixie oscillator.

The second Dixie oscillator sends voltage influence to a Pittsburgh Modular viLFO which sends it's triangle output to the A-189 sample rate reduction. The viLFO also sends it's triangle/square shaped output to the EKO rate.

Manual wiggling was of all the filters cut offs, spring reverb mix amount, and attenuators for modulation depth."

Analogue/Lofi Techno Jam - Eurorack, Mode Machines SID, Vermona DRM

Published on Mar 15, 2014 Mono Jono·2 videos

"A recording of some Jammin'

On Lead:
Intellijel Dixie
Bubblesound VCOb (into VCF sub osc input).
Blue Lantern Asteroid VCF
Rohren (tube) VCA (for distortion)
ADDAC sys 101
Mode Machines SID

On Bass:
Intellijel Dixie
Dinsync.info VCF 303 (with overdrive cranked up)
Asteroid VCA stage

On Drums:
Vermona DRM

Arranged by: Analogue Solutions Oberkorn sequencer

Synth mixed by:
Pittsburgh M3

A couple of short techno tunes.
All sounds from the Asteroid VCF (Dixie, VCOb and ADDAC 101) are fed through a Rohren (tube VCA).
The VCF 303 is fed a squeare from the Dixie and is run through the VCA on the Asteroid VCF. A CV channel from the Oberkorn is fed to the VCF 303s CV in, which causes the filter to fully open up (if you were wondering why it disappears into a tweeting budgie!
The above are sequenced by the Oberkorn.
The Sid is used for a couple of glitchy 8 bit sounds.

Really this is just part of a jam and is not a professional job."

Bubblesound Variable State Voltage Controlled Filter Module

via this auction

"2 cv inputs, 1 audio input and 4 vcf outs - Hi pass, Low pass, Band pass and notch

Great sounding filter, does not quite reach self oscillation but will oscillate when the Hi pass out is connected to the input, it will then track 1v per octave and can be used as a sine oscillator and can vary in sound depending on how much gain is applied. Also try plugging the band pass into 1 of the cv inputs.. Very interesting to say the least !

It is based on old circuits from the classic Oberhiem VSF and Ms20, and does sound vintage with a lovely squelchy resonance ! Crank the gain and it goes into mild distortion, very juicy indeed

More info here"

MODULAR SYNTH JAM #3 - Self Generating Drone

Published on May 5, 2014 DivKidMusic·20 videos

"So here's the latest "extended vine" style synth jam video, NO TALKING! (yey I hear some of you scream) just a patch I've been enjoying and playing around with.

The bases for this is the Bubblesound uLFO through an attenuator into the ADDAC 207 quantizer create a self generating musical drone style patch. The uLFO and quantizer combo in the engine room or hun (however you want to think of it) of the whole patch. The quantizer sends triggers out which clock everything else. As the attenuator is manually move you get a flurry of new notes and triggers as the voltage rises or falls faster than the static rate.

As always feel free to ask questions and I hope you like the patch. Some of the future jams are more elaborate but I'll keep using the "synth jam" title for patches with no talking and just sharing odd patches and bits of playing around."

MODULAR SYNTH JAM #1 - Techno Patch

Published on Apr 1, 2014 DivKidMusic·13 videos

"The first in a series of patch / synth jam videos. We Vine (search DivKid and follow us if you use it) a lot but 6 seconds isn't enough to share a patch properly.

These will be really simple for some and more interesting for others so we hope you enjoy them.

Here's some patch notes:

Kick - Envelopes are triggered via a quarter note midi clock and is a sine wave from an Intellijel Dixie going through an Intellijel uVCA II. With another envelope going to the Dixie pitch to create the kick and thump.

Clap - is a Bubblesound uLFO running at audio rate with the shaped sine (if I remember correctly) going into the WMD Geiger Counter, pushing the pre-amp and wavetable processing.

Hats - these are the high pass noise output from the Blue Lantern Mr. Noise module.

Noise) the sequenced noise sound in the white noise output from the Blue Lantern Mr. Blue module going through a Bubblesound VCA4p with the gain amount modulated by the GinkoSynthese TapLFO (synced to midi clock) with the random output affecting the VCA gain.

Bassline - all 3 rows of the Make Noise Brainds and 2x Pressure Points combo going into a Mutable Instruments Braids. Top rows goes to Braids pitch (1v/oct) input with the quantizer on, second row goes to Braids Timbre modulation and third to the Braids Colour modulation. All the pressure points outputs pass through a Thonk At-At-At for attenuation. Braids internal envelopes are trigger automatically (Braids auto-detects pitch changes) which is affecting the internal VCA level. So Braids acts as a single voice all in one module. The Braids output goes to a SOB filter from Animodule then goes to a Doepfer A-199 Spring Reverb, which then passes into a Happy Nerding FM Aid. The FM Aid then goes to a Malekko Borg 2 filter. Braids also has FM modulation coming through a Livewire AFG with the FM modulation depth adjusted manually.

Each part is mixed together on a pair of STG .mix modules. And as you'll see there's a fair amount of manual wiggling going on.

Subscribe and comment/like etc. As always feel free to ask questions."
