3rd Wave Analog Core Synth Soundset
video upload by Creative Spiral
"This sound set includes 100 new synth patches for the 3rd Wave, focused on the hybrid analog capabilities of the synth. Lots of classic/vintage synth inspired sounds, famous song patches, binaural stereo stacks and modern analog designs. https://sounddesign.sellfy.store/p/3r...
I've made hundreds of sound designs on this great synth, using all the various engines, including PPG, modern wavetables and the new sample engine -- but this sound set is focused entirely on the hybrid analog / VA capabilities of the synth. Dozens of famous song tone patches are included, and classic analog sounds inspired by legendary vintage synths: Sequential Prophets, Oberheim OBs, Roland Jupiters, Yamaha GX and CS, and Moogs, plus modern sound designs that take advantage of the extensive capabilities of the 3rd Wave.
The sound set is available here:
https://sounddesign.sellfy.store/p/3r...
The patches inspired by famous artists/songs include ones by: Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, MUSE, Tears for Fears, Toto, The Cars, Boards of Canada, Prince, RUSH, Daft Punk, M83, Stranger Things, Blade Runner, Harold Faltermeyer, Foreigner, Journey, Duran Duran, Simple Minds, Talk Talk, Van Halen, Thom Yorke, Radiohead, Steven Wilson, Adam Holzman, Michael Jackson and more.
The demo video features about half the patches included in the soundset... there are 50+ more patches as well! The sound in the demo video is direct from the synth, using only onboard 3rd Wave effects, and no external effects added. The drums in a few of the demos are from a Roland TR-8S.

Eurorack, Keystep & A Fallen Hero (Berlin-style Improvisation)
Published on Jun 16, 2019 DreamsOfWires
"Old school Sci-fi inspired jam using a Eurorack modular system including AJH Synth modules (see gear list) and 2 Arturia Keysteps. One Keystep is sending pitch to the XVCO, which is filtered by the Sonic XV, to create a continuous drone, but it is simultaneously transposing the other Keystep's sequencer (via Midi). This sequencer is is controlling the 3 AJH VCO's, which are sent to both the Ladder filter and Gemini on separate audio channels. The Gemini is being used as a stereo filter here, in Dual mode, both sides being modulated in opposition to create stereo movement. All 3 audio sources are then mixed in real time using AUM on the iPad.
I'm dedicating this to one of my childhood heroes who passed away this month - actor Paul Darrow, whose charismatic, witty, and vividly memorable portrayal of the character 'Avon' in an old UK sci-fi TV series called Blakes's 7 has stayed with me throughout my life. Ironically, I re-watched the entire series just recently. I like to think he escaped the final gun battle, and made it away on the Liberator (ship) to some distant refuge with a cargo-hold full of riches.
Help me to keep my channel going by purchasing my music or supporting me on Patreon:

Gear used:
AJH Synth MiniMod system with 3 VCO's, 2 VCA's, Ring SM, Sonic XV, Ladder and Gemini filters, Dual Contour Generator, DH-ADSR (as an LFO). Frequency Central XVCO (drone) & Wave Runner (LFO).
Arturia Keystep x2.
Recorded into AUM on an iPad with EOS2 reverb. iConnectAUDIO4+ audio interface.
Eurorack cases made by me.
Filmed on a LUMIX GH4.
Next album: 'Live' single-take recordings, no overdubs, all analog instruments. Most tracks are based on past compositions, but re-recorded and re-imagined, as I've wanted to do so for a long time. Most tracks are complete, but I'm in no rush."

Custom Prototype Synth Minim00g 1975
Note: links to listings are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.
via this auction
"What you are looking at is a 100% analog prototype synth professionally built by a tech in the 70s who went on to building aircraft for Hawker Siddeley. The prototype was finished in the summer of 1975. The synth side is complete, really unique looking too. Reminds me more of a Sonic Six but does sound very close to the Minimoog. This synth is clearly based on the later. The keys feel nice to play and are in good condition. All knobs and switches are still intact. I had a tech look at it and they found some faults but does not stop this things power! It's a huge sound! E-Mail me if you want some sound examples. The tech upgraded the PSU with new kettle lead input and caps, cost £120 alone. He advised me not to go further with repairs so to keep it's originality. All that was done extra was fixing low output. But is easy to service if you want it done.
The faults found: Osc. 2 waveshape knob not working on wide and narrow rectangle waveforms. However on Osc. 3 they work just fine. Faulty knob on Osc. 2 no doubt.
Please note this is not a fault but; the drum module was never made for it which was a board that slots inside. All the electronics inside were built for the drum module but the board itself was never completed. You could perhaps have a board custom made if you want the drum section. The last lower 5 keys were assigned for this task so do not sound.
I had the synth up for sale before but decided to get some service done to help preserve it. They don't make 'em like this anymore! Full of top quality components unlike new Chinese toys. I've been as honest as I can be with this listing. I am an established musician and not a dealer. Local pickup is also welcome. Courier will be over £20 for full insurance. Worldwide shipping available but at new owners risk. Insurance a must! You also accept in the terms of this sale that the synth does require further servicing and is sold as non-working because of OSC. 2 knob fault. Rest of the synth is working sounds like a monster! It's easily worth over 2k for something like this. To have a custom built one now would run you near 5k easy. I'm in no rush to sell so please sensible offers only (ovno)"

Pre-Burns Scots Song (Session 3)
Published on Nov 13, 2018 Kris Lennox
"Nice set, this one. Good melodies.
For 'The Black Bird' I've went for a slightly raspy, bird-like sound. Silly, really, as the song isn't even about a bird! Still, it works well.
You've probably noticed I'm recording 10 works per video. Given the works are single-note melodies, they probably don't seem like too much work. But this is turning out to be quite an involved project i.e. creating an entirely new/original patch for each melody. Add on video editing etc, and it is quite a task. Projects like this normally have considerable financial support, but this is purely a personal project I'm investing my own free time into.
I have around 500 melodies to record. I plan on recording 10 videos (i.e. the first 100 works), after which I'll take a break from the project for a while. Disdain for the music could quite easily set in, given the scale. Better to take a step back. No rush, given the melodies have been around for a good few centuries!
Track listing/Timestamps:
0:00 = Here's to the King, Sir
1:15 = This is no my Ain House
1:53 = Deil Stick the Minister
2:47 = Lewie Gordon
3:45 = Charlie is my Darling
4:29 = Johnie Cope
5:06 = The Black Bird
6:19 = To Daunton Me
7:13 = The White Cockade
8:17 = You're Welcome, Charlie Stuart

Sync-Shift Mark II MIDI Clock Din Sync Converter Delay/Lag Offset Correction

"Features:
'Gridlock' Midi Clock to Din Sync Conversion with ultra-low, constant conversion lag time so your initial conversion offset remains fixed and tight.
'Brick Wall' Midi Input Filter - because the Midi Specification gives no priority to Midi Clock messages we felt that in order to get the best possible I/O sync integrity we had to make sure that all midi message other than strict Midi Clock were well and truly ignored.
Innerclock Sync-Shift Mark 1 real-time Din Sync offset/lag correction lets you compensate for common hardware and software Midi Clock and Din Sync start lag time issues plus it has two full bars of Shift available so you can easily syncopate sync slave devices or software against the master.
Rotary push-pull Shift 'Fine Tune' lets you rush or drag the slave against the groove in real-time with no loss of sync. Go from hard 16th swing to phase locked grid quantize and back again all in one bar and in real-time!
'Gridlock' Din Sync to Midi Clock Conversion - same ultra-low, constant conversion lag time but reverse engineered to provide Din Sync to Midi Clock.
Modular/Discreet design - no CPU personality disorders. We could have done all three jobs on one chip with a shared instruction set but we didn't. From experience - especially where synchronisation is concerned - sharing hardware resources is a bad idea. Each of the three core components that makes up the Mark II Sync Shift has its own dedicated IC and code. This means they work great in isolation and there is no loss in performance when you connect them together.
The Mark II Sync Shift is really three separate, ultra high quality devices in one compact package where the whole truly is greater than the sum of the parts.
Hands-On. Five pots - four switched and one free turning - work collectively to provide up to two full bars of Sync offset. The top three switched pots set Quarter divisions, Sixteenth divisions and Individual Clocks respectively. The bottom left rotary switch is for Bypass, Real-Time Shift and Shift Lock. The last free turning pot provides the real-time push/pull sync fine tuning between master and slave.
All three internal components have individual rear facing Midi/Din sockets for discreet I/O.
Use the Midi Clock to Din Sync conversion on its own or simply route the converted Din Sync signal back into the Mark II for real time lag correction and syncopation of your Din Sync Slave device. Now take the Shifted Din Sync signal back in to the Din to Midi Clock converter to apply the exact same real-time lag/offset correction and syncopation method to any of your Midi Clock slave devices.
The Sync Shift Mark II provides a simple, accurate, hands-on way to make all your gear lock the way it should - Hardware or Software, Master or Slave, Midi Clock or Din Sync/+5v.
Check some reviews here."

Amazing Yamaha DX7 analog patches demo – Van Halen 1984 & Jump, Rush Subdivisions, U.K. and Berlin
Published on Apr 29, 2016 Power DX7
This one in via MTG.
"This is a Yamaha DX7 demo brought you by Power DX7, showcasing the breathtaking realism and unparalleled versatility of the Yamaha DX7.
This video demonstrates amazingly warm and rich Yamaha DX7 analogue patches including Oberheim synths. These DX7 analog patches can transform the DX7 as well as Yamaha DX7s, DX7 II and TX802 into analog synthesizers. Also, a Yamaha DX7 plugin (such as FM7, FM8 and Dexed) can be transformed into an analog synthesizer with uniquely DX7 patches.
The Yamaha DX7 is the one of the best ‘pure’ synthesizer which has a very powerful FM synthesis engine. It is a famous vintage synthesizer, released in 1983, that is gaining resurgence recently. Yamaha DX7 sounds were very famous during the 1980’s with its typical E. piano and E. base sounds.
I have owned my Yamaha DX7 Mk I since 1986 and making my own original DX7 patches ever since. My focus is to push the DX7 and its FM synthesizers to its limits, hence creating many original patches with breathtaking sonic quality, realism and expression, from warm analog synthesizer sounds to uniquely DX7 piano, brass, string voice, etc.
For those interested in a Yamaha DX7 review, this is the excellent Yamaha DX7 demo showcasing its capability and versatility. For those interested in Yamaha DX7 programming, this DX7 demo shows you that creating amazing DX7 patches are only limited by your imagination.
I have chosen 5 songs to create this great Yamaha DX7 cover video. All DX7 analog patches featured are created and fine-tuned by myself, using my DX7 front panel only (no patch editor used). I hope you enjoy Yamaha DX7 music that I created for this cover and hope to inspire you that the DX7 is the truly powerful and versatile ‘pure’ synthesizer of all time.
Video Contents
Power DX7 Intro song
All original DX7 patches with amazing realism and expression, are used - Piano (High and Low notes), Male Choir, Female Opera and DX7 Brass
0:15 - Van Halen, 1984 & Jump
Beautiful, warm and rich Oberheim synth (e.g., OB-X and OB-Xa) string and brass patches are faithfully created. It is amazing how the Yamaha DX7 sounds are so close to sounds from Oberheim synths. Also, it can mimic filter sweeping, creating analogue-like, yet uniquely DX7 sounds.
2:35 – Rush, Subdivisions
Rush (my favourite band) used an Oberheim synthesizer for the powerful song Subdivisions (you can see that at the intro of the music video Subdivisions).
The DX7 faithfully emulates a warm Oberheim synth brass sound with rich mid-range harmonics you hear in the song Subdivisions.
4:06 - U.K., Alaska
This DX7 analog patch is uniquely DX7 with its’ FM synthesis engine. It ‘s a very powerful DX7 synth brass sound with ‘ear-piecing’ mid-range harmonics as well as it’s own flanging effect.
6:35 – Berlin, Masquerade
Berlin has a song called Masquerade and you can hear a very nice synth string sound. This DX7 analog patch emulates the synth string sound very nicely, as it is rich in higher harmonics and highly modulated."

OP-X PRO-II: Famous Sounds in a Netbook!
video upload by virtualoberheim
http://www.sonicprojects.ch/opxpro2/description.html
"Playing some famous bank patches on the SonicProjects OP-X PRO-II virtual analog Oberheim VSTi synth hosted in a cheap Acer netbook.
The used netbook is an Acer Aspire One 270 - 26Dkk featuring an Intel Atom N2600 1,6 GHz CPU, 1Gb Ram and Windows 7 Starter as operating system.
The used vst host is the free Hermann Seib SaviHost. Because of the small size screen of the netbook (1024 x 600) the virtual keyboard of OP-X PRO-II doesn't fit the screen, but luckily the main panel with all controls does which is perfectly usable.
For audio only the built in audio card was used together with the free Asio4all drivers for low latency performance. The used buffer setting was 512 samples.
The audio was picked directly from the headphone output and was recorded with a different computer over the line inputs of an RME HDSP 9632 audio card directly to disk. No effects or any other treatments have been added. As you can hear the audio quality of this netbook's headphone output is astonishingly good and is completely noise free. The slight noise in the video comes from the camera microphone which was mixed to the line signal for the ambient noises.
The used MIDI master keyboard (an E-MU Xboard 61) is connected directly to the netbook over USB and is powered by the usb port.
There haven't been done any optimizations in the netbook for this video, the virus scanner and all the background services are running.
Note that in this unoptimized state and without an external good low latency audio interface OP-X PRO-II only barely can be run and there is occasional crackling and overload artefacts with some cpu intensive patches. 12-voice patches have to be reduced to 10 voices by deactivating voices for a glitch free performance.
For serious and artefact free performance for all patches the next higher Intel Atom CPU (Intel Atom N2800 1,86 GHz) is recommended and if possible an external USB audio interface like the E-MU 0204.
The played patches all are patches included in the "famous" bank coming with OP-X PRO-II. These are the featured songs:
00:04 Rush - The Camera Eye
00:21 Rush - Subdivisions
00:46 Journey - Separate Ways
00:59 ELP - Lucky Man
01:13 Gary Numan - Cars

Lofi on the Sonicware Lofi-12 XT
video upload by No Rush
"Just a quick lofi jam on the XT. I'm really loving this device so far; the workflow is super fluid and flexible, the hardware is solid and it sounds great. I probably should have taken the screen protector off before I started filming, sorry!"

Two Sequential Circuits Prophet VS in Quadro Mode
video upload by synthlegends
"The Sequential Prophet VS was the last synthesizer from Sequential Circuits in 1986, before this company became bankrupt and was sold.
Nevertheless the Prophet VS is a very sought after synth and it was used in the 80ies by France Gall, Rush, Whitesnake and Scorpions.
It is an 8 voice hybrid synth with 4 digital oscillators consisting of 98 waveform plus 31 user waveforms. You can merge the Oscillators with a vector stick called waveform mix. The Prophet VS has a curtis low pass analog filter chip, three envelopes, also with panning and a great modulation matrix with two LFO. There is also a chorus effect and a very capable arpeggiator. The Prophet VS came out as keyboard version and quite rare also as a rack version. The Prophet VS is definitely one of my favourite synths, maybe my favourite, so I also have got the rack version just in case my keyboard version brakes down sometime.
In this video I mix these two synths together via Midi. I programmed a lot of double layered sounds on both synths, so I only can play 4 tones at once. Because the synth has 4 Oscillators, you get 8 Osc at once. By merging two of them, you get in Double mode 16 Osc. If you play it in Unison mode, you get 64 Oscillators at once. That`s ultraaa fat!
I didn’t use any FX, only the internal chorus, but no additional processing, no limiter, no equalizer, compresser etc. Just pure, dry and raw. The VS is fat enough.
I hope you enjoy this video. Thanks for watching, see you next time!"
