SCMRCD light test

YouTube Uploaded by sduck409 on Nov 21, 2011

"Finally got a decent set of LEDs in this module, the 4ms Shuffling Clock Multiplier/Rotating Clock Divider- this is just a quickie iPhone video to show them off - full video later."

Always love a blinky light show.

Update:

SCMRCD demo

YouTube Uploaded by sduck409 on Nov 21, 2011

"A brief demo of some of the capabilities of my SCMRCD module - a combination of the Shuffling Clock Multiplier, the Rotating Clock Divider and their associated breakout boards from 4ms Pedals. I don't really scratch the surface of what this thing can do, just using the built in clock generator and the knobs and switches - no outboard cv's or anything. Still you can get an idea of the potential, and enjoy a light show at the same time."

Foob-oor

Youtube Uploaded by sduck409 on Mar 16, 2011

"there was a big earthquake and then my dog died and then I wrote this song

a bunch of feedback loops - 3 MOTM 300's, a MOTM e350, a wogglebug, and an Ian Fritz DoubleDekka VCO. You're hearing the output of the DoubleDekka through a Blacet Time Machine on the left, and a Triangle output from one of the 300's through the Neural Agonizer on the right. Some knobs were wiggled near the end."

Sorry to hear that sduck409. Stay safe.

doubledekka slider demo

YouTube Uploaded by sduck409 on May 16, 2011

"A quickly made sloppy video that was made by request - just to show off the sliders on the DoubleDekka VCO and their effect on the sound. I managed to figure out how to do picture in picture in final cut express for this, but still haven't figured out lots of other things, so it's pretty basic. The shots of my scope were made with my flip camera, which was hanging in a hastily arranged contraption, so forgive the wobbliness at the beginning. And my 21$ scope either isn't very good at this sort of thing, or I don't really know how to use it right, or both, so again, forgive the way the waveforms jump around. The sound was recorded direct into the computer, so at least it's done fairly well."

2 dual wogglebug ramp up sound

YouTube via sduck409 | June 25, 2010 | 1:23

"So by chance I happened to have two of my dual wogglebugs in my modular at one time. I was spending some time patching up various odd patches, and came up with this one - but, along the way I noticed that these dual bugs have a pretty long start up time, and wanted to see what it sounded like, and well, it's pretty bizarre. The one on the left starts up a lot faster than the one on the right.

For those interested, there are 3 of the ring outs being heard - and one is going through the MOTM 410 filter. There are also two of the child tone outs also being heard. The rates of each wogglebug is being cv'd by the smooth out of a different bug. No other filters or processing. Because I don't have a fancy mixer, everything is panned hard left and right."

Korgasmatron II demo

YouTube Published on May 15, 2012 by sduck409

"This is a basic demo of some of the things my DIY version of the Korgasmatron II VCF will do. Design of this circuit is by David Dixon, who kindly provided me with the pcb's to make this. What you're hearing is a (boring) sequence created by a Klee sequencer, driving 3 Synthesis Technology MOTM 300 VCO's into a MOTM 830 mixer into a MOTM 190 VCA. Recorded in real time, no effects, audio straight to computer. I don't explain all the knobs and normalizations and such - sorry."

soundbite

YouTube via sduck409
"watch over my shoulder as I tweak some settings on this large modular synth patch. 3 different voices, using a motm 510 wavewarper as twisted mixer. Mostly synthtech MOTM modules, and a Blacet Binary Zone, Wogglebug, and a MusicFromOuterSpace sequencer. Sorry about the low audio quality, this was just a quickie job, otherwise it might never get done."

"In which the monkeys in my synthesizer express their outrage at the unfairness of their captivity

Basically the same patch as my last video. Still just 5 modules used. The Dual Wogglebug is doing a lot - modulating things left and right and putting out the wobbly clock that's driving the Klee Sequencer, which driving the pitches of the cross-modulated Buchla 258 Dual VCO clone and the frequency of the Korgasmatron III VCF which is in bandpass mode. The Wogglebug is also flipping the panning of the Yusynth Mixer/Panner around. And it's all going through a Eventide Space with a really basic Hall setting. Recorded straight into the computer, no audio editing afterwards. Copyright 2012 Stephen Drake."

PT Audio Dual Digital Oscillator

flickr by sduck409 (click for more)

"Here's my build of the Dual Digital Oscillator, blacked out version. PCB is from Lazerkind/PT-Audio."

And some details from Muff's:

"It is based on DSS (Direct digital synthesis) and is running on a ATMega 328p chip.

Both oscillators share a set of 4 * 8 Wavetables that can be interpolated.
It has 8 modes of operation:
- 1. Phase mod 1->2, 2->1
- 2. Saw mod
- 3. SampleWrap
- 4. BitCrush
- 5. PhaseCrush
- 6. Bitkill
- 7. And/Or
- 8. Sync 1->2
(still not 100% set in stone as so many variations sound cool)

pitch tracking is 5 octaves, 1V/oct. And can be offset +5 octaves with the coarse/fine controls. Additionally the pitch can be modified by the pitch mod inputs +/- 5 octaves.

Osc1 can be switched down one octave, and osc2 switched down 8 osctaves.

Osc2 can either follow osc1 or run free, by flipping the link switch.

All CV inputs are 0-5V but the pitch mod that is -5/+5. All inputs are protected against voltages outside that range, but inputting a non expected voltage may result in unexpected behaviour"

And some audio demos:

I believe this is the first PT Audio post.
