Djupviks Bunker Archaeology II - First Look.

video upload by Lesjamusic

"Djupviks Elektronik's Bunker Archaeology II is a Eurorack "bunker simulator" - an overdriven digital reverb feeding a frequency-driven tremolo circuit. Inspired by Paul Virilio's photographic documentation of the abandoned Atlantic Wall fortifications, it's lo-fi, grainy, and full of character. The MkII addresses the rough edges of the original: a proper wasp-style filter with resonance and CV control, CV over feedback, a rebuilt static circuit that actually responds across its full range, and a clock output for those irregular rhythms.

This isn't your pristine shimmer reverb. If you want transmissions from a crumbling concrete structure on the Normandy coast, this is the territory.

Fieldtone Weaver Eurorack // The Happy Accidents Module // Full walkthrough and patches

video upload by Lesjamusic

Pedal version previously featured here.

"The Fieldtone Weaver is a two-second sampler with a single knob, no undo, and no going back. Now it's in eurorack.

Weaver captures two seconds of audio - via the built-in microphone or audio input - and instantly randomises it into evolving loops, rhythms, and textures. Every turn of the knob generates a completely new variation. Nothing saves, nothing recalls. It's the ultimate happy accidents machine.
The modular version adds individual level control for three loop elements, trigger outputs that double as a random rhythm generator, a pitch switch, clock sync, and CV control - which works differently to what you might expect. I go into detail on all of this.

The Gas Club, Episode 1 - Hugh Jones, Fieldtone Instruments.

video upload by Soundgas

"Welcome to our new series, The Gas Club. Where we meet people who make things - be that music, recording devices, or instruments.

In the first episode Tony meets Hugh Jones of Fieldtone Instruments at the Soundgas HQ to explore the history of Fieldtone's celebration creations. They take a deep dive into Hugh's journey from musician/engineer to designer/builder of the Box of Uncertainty, The Weaver one knob handheld sampler and brand new Weaver Module plus a sneak peak at what to expect next from Fieldtone in 2026.

Tony and Hugh discuss the joy of sonic adventure and gear designed to produce happy accidents and the experiences of bringing new creations to the world."

A few pics and details on Weaver Eurorack:

Weaver Modular from Fieldtone is a Eurorack format version of the highly in demand Weaver handheld sampler that featured in music tech tastemaker Andrew Huang’s year round up as his Favourite Desktop FX module of 2024. The modular edition builds on the functionality of the original by adding a variety of additional control.

The Weaver is no ordinary audio sampler, it is a meditation on impermanence and chance. With a single, enigmatic knob, it embraces randomness as an artistic principle, reconfiguring two-second sound bites into hypnotic loops and evolving textures. There is no undo button, no way back once a sound is captured; the Weaver insists that you move forward, shaping the unpredictable into rhythm or texture with nothing more than a twist of the wrist or control voltage change.

New functionality on the device includes separate level controls of different elements of the loop, as well as 3 x trigger outputs which turns the device into a random rhythm generator for which you don't even need to be using the sampling capabilities. You can trigger the Recording start via CV, allowing you to keep replacing the sample whilst the loop continuously plays - something that works beautifully with acoustic sound sources such as guitar or voice, as well as electronics. A switch has also been added to select between Random or Root note sympathetic pitch playback.

Features:

Single-knob audio sampler focussed on randomness and exploration

Capture sound via built-in microphone or input jack

Fixed two-second sample time

No undo function, every knob movement generates a new loop

External sync via Clock input

Stereo output on separate L&R sockets with rich spatial movement

Separate level controls for 3 different elements of the loop

3 x gate outputs for triggering other sources

Toggle to switch between Texture and Rhythm modes

Toggle to switch between Root or Random pitch

Gate/trigger input to control Recording start

Gate/trigger input to control Weaver knob

Can be used as random rhythm generator without needing to use the sampler

Whimsical Raps Atrium // Monome Norns // 36 Minutes of Uninterrupted Ambient

video upload by Lesjamusic

"My friend Simon (aka mosaictapes on Instagram) came over the other day, and we were toying around with the Sines app on Norns. We added some noise options, including modulating the frequency with noise, giving this lovely instability to the sound. Then added two sequencers: One wave based and one stochastic drift based. Here the drift sequencer slowly plays the sine waves, represented by the bars in the Grid (sorry about the cable in the way!). DM me on IG if you would like a copy of this edited script.

I added an evolving bass drone on Atrium - something that's super easy to do with the internal gestures and LFOs. Cocoquantus has a little loop of the Norns, then there's Oto Bim and Boum, and Walrus Audio Slöer just off screen. There's no talking here, and no changes in the patch - I just thought I would leave it running for you to enjoy / mong out to 🫠🫠🫠

Nexus - New Generative Sequencer for Norns // Nymphes // Oto Bim & Boum // Chase Bliss Onward

video upload by Lesjamusic

"Nexus is here. A generative chord-based sequencer for monome Norns that I've been teasing in recent videos.

In this demo, Nexus is driving a Dreadbox Nymphes via MIDI. The signal chain: Nymphes → Oto Bim → Oto Boum → Chase Bliss Onward → Chase Bliss CXM 1978.

Nexus lets you select from a 15-chord diatonic palette while a probabilistic engine triggers notes from within each chord. Two rows on the Grid let you play along in the current scale. There's also bass and sub-bass sequencers that fire root notes on chord changes.

The script outputs MIDI and Crow CV/Gate - so it'll work with pretty much any setup.

Polynomial - Norns Synthesizer built with AI // Oto Bim & Boum // Chase Bliss Onward

video upload by Lesjamusic

"Polynomial - a new phase modulation synthesizer for Monome Norns featuring Chebyshev polynomial waveshaping, instability systems, and deep modulation capabilities.

Built using Claude code. This 24-minute piece explores the sonic range of Polynomial through its preset system, moving between clean melodic tones, textured drones, glitchy rhythmic patterns, and layered ambient soundscapes.

Signal Chain:
Monome Norns (Polynomial) → Chase Bliss Onward → Oto Bim → Oto Boum → Chase Bliss CXM 1978

The performance uses Polynomial's 12-preset Grid system to shift between radically different tones - from warm pads to aggressive leads, chaotic textures to pristine bells. Long delay times on the Onward allow sounds to layer and evolve, while quick preset changes create glitchy, stuttering textures.

Polynomial Features:
Phase modulation synthesis with 4 operator waveforms
40 Chebyshev polynomial transfer functions for harmonic shaping
Multimode filtering with envelope and keyboard tracking
Dual LFO modulation with chaos/feedback control
Instability system for organic variation
Sub-oscillator, noise source, lo-fi bit crushing

Djupviks Gats // Grainy Reverb // Angry Filter

video upload by Lesjamusic

"‪@vikingsade‬ Djupviks Gats is a grainy reverb feeding into a wasp-style bandpass filter, with sample-and-hold modulation built into the signal path. By default, it samples your incoming audio to modulate the filter cutoff - creating stepped, glitchy textures that respond to your playing dynamics. The offset control lets you shape that response from aggressive ducking through to keeping the filter permanently cracked open.

In this video I walk through the module and show a couple of patches demonstrating what it can do.

Features:

Grainy reverb into wasp-style bandpass filter
Internal sample-and-hold with adjustable clock
S&H can sample audio or external sources
Bipolar offset control for shaping filter response
Pre/post feedback switch
External clock sync"

Djupviks Systral: MS-20 Filter Gone Feral

video upload by Lesjamusic

"Djupviks (‪@vikingsade‬ ) Systral is an MS-20 topology stereo filter that refuses to behave. Built with red LEDs instead of the traditional green (because Djupviks), this dual-channel chaos machine gives you shared frequency cutoff with independent resonance per side, a continuously variable blend control between low-pass and high-pass, and analog noise normalled into the CV inputs that whispers instability through every self-oscillation peak.

🔴 KEY FEAT

URES:
Dual MS-20 topology filters red LED nonlinearity
Shared frequency cutoff, independent resonance per channel
Blend control: morph continuously from LP to HP
Analog noise normalled to CV inputs (audible at high resonance)
Independent gain controls per channel
Stereo tension 😵‍💫"

When the Spec Becomes Code: Building a Norns Instrument with AI

video upload by Lesjamusic

"Building PolyNexus: A Complete Norns Instrument, using Claude AI

I used to struggle with "vibe coding" - throwing prompts at AI and hoping for working software. Then I discovered the article "When the Spec Becomes the Code," and everything changed.

Spec-driven development (SDD) transformed my workflow. Instead of generating code through endless prompts, I focus on creating clear specifications first. The spec becomes the blueprint, and Claude AI helps compile it into working code.

PolyNexus is the result of this approach - a complete generative polyphonic instrument for Monome Norns that evolved far beyond my initial vision. What started as a chord sequencer grew ambitious: I built PolyVoice, a custom 6-voice synthesizer engine in SuperCollider, based on three Plaits oscillator models with wavefolding, sample rate reduction, and comprehensive modulation.

The best part? Spec-driven development gave me the confidence to tackle SuperCollider synthesis, something I wouldn't have attempted with traditional "vibe coding."

🎹 PolyNexus Features:

PolyVoice Synthesis Engine: • Custom 6-voice polyphonic SuperCollider engine • Three Plaits-inspired oscillator models (morph, waveshaping, wavetable) • Wavefolding for harmonic complexity • Sample rate reduction for lo-fi textures • Independent LFOs and envelope control per voice

Generative Sequencer: • 16-chord harmonic palette (monome Grid row 1) • Probabilistic note retriggering engine • Random chord sequencer for compositional surprises • Bass and sub-bass sequencer for rhythmic foundation • Real-time playable notes (Grid row 5)

Analog-Style Effects Chain: • Tape character: flutter, wow, saturation, tape noise • Tape-style delay with feedback and rate control • Multi-mode filtering for tone shaping

🔗 Resources: • Jean Bovet: "When the Spec Becomes the Code" - / when-the-spec-becomes-the-code • PolyNexus (coming soon to lines community) • monome Norns - https://monome.org • Mutable Instruments Plaits • SuperCollider synthesis language

⏱️ Timeline:
0:00 - Introduction: The Struggle with Vibe Coding
01:51 - Discovery: Spec-Driven Development
04:33 - What is PolyNexus?
12:37 - Live Performance

Want to try spec-driven development? Start by describing what you want to build in clear, detailed language. Iterate on the specification until it's crystal clear. Then let AI help compile it into code. You'll be amazed at what becomes possible."

Ambient Performance // Polygene II // Torso S-4 // Onward // Lossy // Slöer

video upload by Lesjamusic

"Nine and a half minutes of synthy washy reverby goodness. Using the upper touch keyboard of the sublime ‪@genesynths‬ Polygene II gives such lovely raw oscillator tones. ‪@ChaseBlissAudio‬ Lossy + Onward + ‪@walrusaudioeffects‬ Slöer breaks, shifts and widens the sound. There's 4 different loops on the ‪@torsoelectronics‬ S-4, two of which make use of the filterbank, which can take field recordings and turn them into something harmonic. No talking on this one, just synth, synth, synth ❤️"

"Pladask ROM is the Eurorack sibling of the Stereo Dradd — a reverb that doesn’t simulate real spaces, but invents new ones. Closely related to Pladask's DRAUME pedal. With three algorithms (HALL, FRAME, GRAIN), clock control, random modulation, and stereo unpredictability, ROM excels at turning static sounds into restless, living textures.

If you enjoy experimental sound design, modular weirdness, and reverb that goes beyond realism, ROM is a perfect tool for your rack."

Djupviks Spektrum // What is a 'Switch Capacitor Filter'?

video upload by Lesjamusic

"🎛️ Djupviks Spektrum: The Filter That Clocks Itself 🎛️

Spektrum isn’t just another Eurorack filter. It’s a switched capacitor stereo filter that uses your input signal as its clock, turning audio into rhythmic glitches, stutters, and pulsing textures you won’t find anywhere else.

In this video, we break down:
✅ What a switched capacitor filter actually is (in plain English)
✅ How Spektrum turns your audio into patterns and sequences
✅ The unique stereo behavior and control layout
✅ Patch examples to unleash Spektrum’s chaotic beauty

Spektrum reacts to everything you feed it — arpeggios become glitchy basslines, noise turns into crunchy percussion, and waveforms transform into evolving rhythmic patterns.

If you’re looking to add a truly unique, reactive, and chaotic filter to your rack, Spektrum might just be the perfect machine.

Spektrum is available to buy as a kit from Thonk in the UK and Europe, SynthCube and Modular Addict in the US. SynthCube will be stocking some pre-built versions soon too.

Introducing Mörser: Djupviks’ Stereo WASP Filter with Digital Noise // Part 1

video upload by Lesjamusic

"Part 1 of a 2 part series introducing the Mörser filter from ‪@vikingsade‬ Djupviks Elektronik.

Mörser takes the wildest analogue synth filter from the the EDP Wasp, and dials up the noise, grit and chaos to 11. In stereo.

Mörser is a stereo filter with low pass, band pass, independent resonance and shared cutoff (and CV). There’s distortion outputs for some extra gnarl, and a clocks digital noise source, hardwired to both the inputs and the CV.

This video explores the basic sounds and functions paired with an analogue VCO. I’ll share a video next week with some more creative patching and different sound sources."

Beyond Phaser: Djupviks The Qu's Wild Sonic Mutation

video upload by Lesjamusic

"Welcome to the semi-official guide for Djupviks The Qu — a Eurorack modular phaser inspired by the legendary Lovetone Doppelganger but expanded for deep audio experimentation.

✅ Optical Phaser Technology: Organic, throbbing modulation via LEDs and light-dependent resistors (LDRs).
✅ Dual CV Inputs: Easy stereo modulation or complex, independent control.
✅ Distorted Output: Diode clipping adds gritty, wavefolded textures.
✅ Dry Signal Bypass: Switch from phaser to vibrato and glitchy experimental textures.
✅ "The Qu" Mode: Inspired by an obsolete telephone tracking chip (LM567), it creates chaotic, unpredictable soundscapes, blurring modulation and synthesis.

Named after the alien species from C. M. Kosemen’s speculative evolution book, All Tomorrows, The Qu module embodies radical audio transformation—visually enhanced by Kosemen's own front-panel artwork."
