A Delightfully Lo Fi Eurorack Time Machine (Modular FX) // 3 patches with DRADD by Pladask Elektrisk

video upload by DivKid

"Here we have DRADD from Pladask Elektrisk. A Eurorack module that builds upon the Pladask pedal line, specifically the Fabrikat pedal, with 3 FX algorithms that in their own ways bend, stretch and invert time. We have highly modulate-able (plenty of CV - yay!) and characterfully lo fi granular time stretching, tapped delay networks into diffused reverbs and a digital tape style sampler for octave and playback direction shifts. Good fun and good sounds!

This video is part of my "3 patches" video series that is literally just 3 example patches. We take a look at DRADD, run down the features and take a exploratory paced looked at what the module can do."

TipTop Audio ART Modules

video upload by Luca Longobardi

"Last series of tests before the imminent commercial release of the Tiptop Audio ART modules.
In this session, of which I recorded a small jam, I configured the system so as to have a good comparison on polyphony tracking.

One of the two ATX1 analog oscillators (bass line) is managed via CV through the ART V/Oct Quantizer, the other analog oscillator and the digital one (Vortex) are instead managed via Midi, all via the Korg Sq-64.
The Roland S-1 is routed in the Morphagene, the Just Friends uses the Mutable Instruments Ripples Resonance to ping it on the melody line entrusted to the digital oscillator and the Pladask Elektrisk Dradd adds some glitchy vibes via its Tape function. TX-6 for delay."

Creative modular sampling patches | SebSongs Sampler

video upload by Tom Churchill

"This video is about the SebSongs Modular Sampler. It’s a new DIY kit available from Thonk, who kindly sent one over for me to check out. It’s a simple 12-bit mono sampler with about three and a half seconds of memory and a beautifully crunchy, lo-fi sound inspired by vintage machines like the Akai S612.

In this video, I’ve put together a small case with a few of my other favourite modules - the Blukac Endless Processor, the Serge VCFQ and Resonant EQ, the Pladask Dradd effects unit and the Xaoc Devices Sarajewo BBD delay - and I've built a few simple patches that explore some creative uses of sampling."

DRADD is an experimental time-based audio processor for the eurorack system. The module can stretch, bend and invert time through granular synthesis, modified sample playback and tapped delay lines. Intended as a tool for adding synthetic and unnatural ambiance/coloration to your synth patches.

The Roland E-4 as a lowfi synth glitch machine

video upload by Richard DeHove

"Roland calls the E-4 the "Voice Tweaker" but here I use it exclusively as a glitch effect on the DB-01 synth. The DB-01's output is split with the dry sound going direct to the DAW and the other going to the E-4 mic input (which is overloading of course). The DB-01 is also providing a clock for the E-4 "scatter" effects. The result is a bit like the Fabikat Pladask pedal and some other grain and glitch processors.
After a bit of talking at the start I just twiddle the knobs and run through a few of the scatter programs. Each one has a slightly different combination of short stutters, reverse effects, delay and lowfi bitcrushed processing. As there are about 200 scatter programs this is just a short taste of what's on offer. You can also change the clock rate per beat from 1 to 24 and this also has a huge effect on the sound. Here I stay at 4.
In future I'll explore more complex setups with the harmonizer, autotune, vocoder and clock rates but hopefully this gives a little taste of the unit outside of its 'voice tweaker' role.
Probably also worth mentioning that - unlike most other E-4 demos - I actually bought this machine and paid full price.
