"Welcome to the semi-official guide for Djupviks The Qu — a Eurorack modular phaser inspired by the legendary Lovetone Doppelganger but expanded for deep audio experimentation.

"A sequel to my Mannequins Silhouette ( • Silhouette by Mannequins // What is i... ) intro video. Pulled together all of the Mannequins by Whimsical Raps modules into one case, and created these 5 ambient drone patches, with a little help from Norns and some Intellijel utilities.

Intellijel 1u VCO, Duatt, Stereo Mixer and 62hp Palette Case.
No external effect processing used, apart from some dynamic processing to bring it all up to level. No reverbs / delays etc - everything comes from the case.

"Off screen, the SH-101 is acting as the sole sound source. That's fed into both DJupviks phasers (The Qu and Neo Tokyo), which are modulated by Bristol Bloodhound Mk 2 and Tangram. Bunker Archeology smears it all up. Soma Cosmos and Walrus Audio Slöer make everything dreamy again."

"Welcome to the latest Mannequins module by Whimsical Raps: Silhouette.

OK so please excuse a few things here.

Firstly, I think this is genuinely the first vid posted with Silhouette outside of Mannequins official launch (I have no cheat sheet except the WIP manual!), and so some of the function descriptions aren't super crisp - if you like this video then I will record a follow up with more of an in-depth look.

Secondly, there's only one patch here, and I haven't yet even got around to trying mixing CV!

Finally, I have a horrible cold, and so apologies for the mouthbreathing. Not even a noise gate could filter it out!

That said, here's my first day intro to Silhouette by Mannequins. YMMV!"

"The red skiff is alive! A full 104hp of ‪@vikingsade‬ Djupviks modules, with my latest additions being Clot and Bunker Archaeology.

These modules crave audio rate modulation, and so ‪@atovproject‬ Dual Harmonic was on hand to provide, along with the LX-Euclid for gate sequencing the Djupviks Beneath the Bush of Ghosts lofi sampler. ‪@Dreadbox-synths‬ Nymphes also as a sound source alogside the DHO.

With apologies for the mouth-breathing - not over my winter cold.

"I often find myself using Borderlands Granular on the iPad as a sketech pad for new ambient compositions. It's such a great use of the screen and the touchpad - it might just be my favourite granular instrument.

I wanted both Mannequins modules to run through Shakti and Dradd, and so I realised that Quadratt could be used as a small submixer too - super helpful.

Here's what's happening:

1 voice from Just Friends, sequenced by Norns’ Awake script, via Crow.

These go into NCL Clump, whose matrix is being modulated by øchd and Sloths. These outputs feed Nautilus, Data Bender, Arbhar, Dradd and Sealegs.

RIBN on the iPad modulates Just Friends and Sisters.

‪@atovproject‬ 16n Faderbank controls the mixer levels on Vortices, and the feedback levels on Nautilus and Sealegs."

"Following Thursday’s fun playing the Elmyra directly, I wanted to try triggering a sequence. I’m using the Polyend Poly 2 to split the midi from Keystep over 4 CV/gate outputs - hence the spaghetti of wires dangling from the big case. Atovproject’s excellent cLFO is modulating various parameters on Elmyra, keeping the drone evolving. Microcell and Cosmos for texture.

Off screen, CXM 1978 and OTO Boum finish things.

"Trying out a new format. The first 4 minutes or so is the patch, the last minute is a quick patch explanation by yours truly.

Organelle into Mutable Ears. Ears envelope out into Nautilus resolution. Ears audio out into Arbhar scan input. Arbhar out into Data Bender and Nautilus then Vortices. Norns l_ll__l_ with some ambience.

Sidraxia! Glitch inputs go wild with Palmelund Controller 🎮🎛️🤘

"The Sidrax glitch inputs, according to the manual:
'Two green jacks, that are 'glitch' inputs. They cause the boundary conditions of each oscillator to wire to the output of another. A modulation inspired by circuit bending.'

If you modulate the oscillator that is wired to the one with the glitch input (if you get my drift), you can get wild results. Off screen, Microcosm and Cocoquantus add to the fun.
