Louis Cole - “Bank Account” Synth Cover (Oberheim OB-X8)
video upload by Emilio Rivera
"Hey everyone! It’s been a while. I can hardly believe it’s been over 3 years since my last video and I want to apologize for my lack of activity. To be honest, I’ve had a love-hate relationship with music for a long time and I thought I had quit for good, but thankfully my friends didn’t let that happen. Praise God! So here I am with a short video of a silly little Louis Cole song that I decided to learn. This one is harder than it looks but it was really fun and satisfying to play once I got the hang of it. I hope you enjoy it!
I also want to say thank you to everyone for continuing to support my preset packs and watching my videos. It really means a lot to me. Lord willing, I’ll be back again soon with another video! Until next time :)
-Emilio"

Turning the SUMMIT or PEAK into an Oberheim
video upload by Starsky Carr
"Its remarkably easy to do the Oberheim thing on a Novation SUMMIT or PEAK I attempted to recreate a few of my favourite OB-X8 patches and the SUMMIT sounded amazingly close.
So I've looked a bit deeper and come up with some simple rules to stick within the limitations of the Vintage Oberheim to get those classic tones.
.. and it works a treat :)

Creating Sounds on Oberheim Style Synths/Plugins // OB-X8 Tutorial
video upload by Starsky Carr

Update: new video due to "COPYRIGHT CLAIM on a section of this... Paul Alexander track Raar at 31:19 minutes?!!! Never heard of him or the track. This can be soooo frustrating. What a shambles the whole copyright nonsense can be. I've disputed, but its upto the claimant to decide if they keep my money!!! Its actually chords from another one of my old tracks, so maybe I should put in a counter claim..."
"The fundamentals of programming any Oberheim style synths or plugins. And if you've got an Oberheim OB-X8 and want more patches... you've found the right place too!! Obvs it works for any subtractive synth as well.
I run through how to create basses, from simple and effective to massive and dirty devils.. lush and beautiful pads, sync leads and basses as well as big unison sounds and huge sweeps. If you watch this you'll be able to tweak presets to your liking, or start from an initial patch.
At almost 2 hours its by far my longest demo ever!! And it will gove you all the tools you need for a head start on any subtractive synth"

"Lived and Not Yet Lived" synth jam w/Perkons, Moog Labyrinth, OB-X8
video upload by Tim Grogan
"I like attributing significance to everyday things and then setting a mood to it sort of like scoring a film. Today's subject was my ceiling fan.
A synth jam I envisioned laying in bed this morning while drifting mentally through various scenes. Wanted to follow the visuals. Here's the result"

Novation Summit + Peak // Recreating Classic Vintage Patches
video upload by Starsky Carr
"Classics Vintage Patches from The Novation SUMMIT and PEAK Just a bit of fun... not meant to be identical, but I attempted to recreate some of my favourite patches on my Juno 60, Minimoog, Prophet 5, DW-8000 and OB-X8 - and it was going so well I ended up creating a soundbank.
These were selected to give a nice wide range of tones - single, dual and triple, VCO, DCO and digital oscillators
It can't do everything, obviously, but it gets really close on loads of tones - I was not expecting them to be identical but it can get close to the characters.
For this I created a few wavetables for the Summit/Peak from the DW-8000 waves and also the stacked waves from the Prophet 5. You can select multiple waves on the Prophet, but you can't on the Novation's so it was simple enough to create a wavetable to give all options.. saw+sq, saw+sq+triangles etc.

"Through Hills From Sky" synth jam w 0-Coast, Starlab, Arbhar, OB-X8, DFAM, Hydrasynth, Keystep Pro
video upload by Tim Grogan
"Live recorded DAWless synth jam into Pro Tools for mixing purposes only. I wanted to do some music that felt uplifting at a time that I know is emotionally draining and challenging right now, especially for those of us in the U.S. who don't belong to the political cult that's currently in existence.
'Through Hills From Sky' is really meant as a way of saying we'll get through this if we keep our heads up and stay positive, focused on a bigger picture."

Oberheim OB Xa - the monster for deep, fat, dark analog tones
video upload by Sergio Man
"The Oberheim OB-Xa is an absolute monster for deep, fat, dark analog tones—perfect for haunting drones, growling basslines, and eerie pads. Here’s why it stands out:
Why the OB-Xa is Perfect for Dark, Fat Sounds:
π₯ Oscillators – Two massive CEM3340 oscillators per voice, capable of thick detuning, deep PWM, and sinister saw waves.
π₯ Filters – The Curtis low-pass filter (12dB or 24dB) gives it a dark, creamy, and moody resonance. When pushed, it can create growling basses and sinister sweeps.
π₯ Unison Mode – Stacking all voices together creates earth-shaking, monstrous basses.
π₯ LFO Modulation – Slow, deep LFO modulation can bring ominous movement to pads and leads.
π₯ Vintage Drift – Since it's full analog, slight imperfections give it that organic, alive feeling—like a demon breathing in your mix.
Dark Sound Design Ideas:
π Evil Bass – Low-pass filter, resonance at 40%, slight detune, Unison mode.
π«️ Cinematic Drone – Slow LFO to filter, subtle PWM, a bit of white noise.
π Haunting Bell Pads – High resonance, slow attack, some reverb and delay.
⚡ Aggressive Leads – 24dB filter, medium resonance, quick envelope decay for punch.
Similar Dark & Fat Synths
OB-X8 (2022) – Modern reissue, true to the original OB series.
Sequential Prophet-5/6 – More aggressive and raw, but in a similar analog spirit.
Moog One – Thicker and darker but with a more modern feel."

OBERHEIM TEO-5 | ANALOG poly-SYNTH | MUSIC DEMO - NO TALKING πΉπ₯
video upload by FutureMusic.es
"The compact OBERHEIM TEO-5 synthesizer resurrects the legendary analog-polyphonic sound of California...
#oberheim #teo5 #synthesizer
The OBERHEIM TEO-5 is a huge analog polyphonic synthesizer in the vein of the golden age of American synthesizers. We're talking about the legendary original designer, and the same architecture and circuitry that sculpted thick, memorable lines of American analog polysynth in the 70s and 80s.
But a lot happened along the way for us to see the OBERHEIM TEO-5 in its full glory today. Today, OBERHEIM is a revered brand that has regained its status as a rightful contemporary of that golden age of synthesizers.
Signature acronyms, premium electronics, and a huge sound
This sweeping instrument features the exclusive and visionary craftsmanship of Thomas Elroy Oberheim – TEO, hence the name of the device.
And one of the interesting strengths of the OBERHEIM TEO-5 is that it "perfectly combines classic analog warmth with the modern versatility that today's musicians demand", according to the brand's statements.
"I'm very proud to be able to create a synthesizer like this... Compact and affordable, the Oberheim sound for 2024", says Tom Oberheim, founder of the company that bears his name, as well as a legendary designer
In its mission to make Oberheim's classic tone palette "widely accessible", TEO-5 encapsulates decades of analog engineering experience on a musical instrument that is "as innovative as it is visionary."

Space Oddity on Synthesizer featuring the vocals of David Bowie - Synth Oddity OB-X8 and Trigon-6
video upload by Sean Christopher Synthesizers
"I present to you David Bowie’s SYNTH ODDITY. Space Oddity has always been one of my favorite non-synth songs but always thought that it would sound killer with some analog synth goodness. I used only the Oberheim OB-X8 and the Sequential Trigon-6 for the arrangement, so it truly is a Synth Oddity for sure. This version features the incredible vocals or Mr. Bowie from the original song stems. I also have the instrumental version, but on a separate video, so that I may hope to earn fifty cents from the video. LOL That version can be found on the link at the end of this track. I hope that you all enjoy my effort. π"

"Christmas Card 5" this year's musical Christmas Card feat. OB-X8, Moog Matriarch, OB-6 and more
video upload by Tim Grogan
"Every year I write a piece of holiday themed music and they're kind of my musical Christmas card to everyone in an attempt to spread a little magic and joy. I'm slowly creating enough to put out a record of them but here's number 5 for now, along with my mostly performance video showing the gear and the parts. I guess when I do put them out as a collection, I'd better find proper names for each tune, huh.
Hope you enjoy a little taste of the season that's not the standard Jingle Bells and such (although I do use some jingly hand percussion)."
