Wind Recordings and Lo-fi Pitch-shifted Prophet-10 | Platform 2^5 2025-11-19 by atnr
video upload by atnr
"This piece combines field recordings captured in a windy park with sounds from the @SequentialLLC Prophet-10, processed through @ChaseBlissAudio MOOD MKII, LOST+FOUND, and @strymon blueSky.
The Prophet-10 is connected to all three effects units.
During the performance, synth pads are played while the filter is opened and closed to create movement. The MOOD MKII adds delay, and its CLOCK control is adjusted to introduce pitch shifting.
The LOST+FOUND provides additional lo-fi character using the GEN-LITE effect, and further pitch shifting is applied with ORCHESTRAL SWELL.
Finally, the blueSky is used to add reverb.
Additional layers from the MOTIF-RACK ES and Massive X are arranged within the DAW to complete the atmosphere."

Anthony Marinelli Music Synth Studio Revealed | Studio Tour 2025
video upload by Anthony Marinelli Music
"I finally agreed to make a video showing my synthesizer studio. I'm NOT a collector, so you'll see the instruments I've used for over four decades to do my work. It's also my space for composing. In this deep dive studio tour, I walk you through every corner of my space, showing how everything’s connected for performing, recording, and creative flow.
You’ll see icons like the 'Plantasia' Moog Modular IIIc, Synclavier II, Rhodes Chroma with Expander & Enabler, Oberheim Four Voice, Elka Synthex, Roland Jupiter 8, Sequential Circuits Prophet-5, ARP 2600s, Korg MS modular synths, some classic Minimoog — plus a few modern synths I’ve added as I look to the future. Alongside the synths are vintage drum machines, string machines, and rare electric keyboards including a 1973 Fender Rhodes Suitcase and Hohner Clavinet/Pianet Duo.
We'll also explore racks of outboard gear, vocoder units, tape echoes, and a vast array of my custom guitar pedal options, efx pedal boards and studio effects racks that make this room endlessly inspiring. I'll also reveal how my entire studio is designed for instant creativity, featuring 48 channels of synth drivers and stage boxes, so any synth can be patched and recorded on the fly."

Ambient Music with Prophet-10 x Nord Lead Pelle Mode x OP-1 field | Isthmus 2025-11-03 by atnr
video upload by atnr
"This piece was created using @SequentialLLC Prophet-10, @NordKeyboards Nord Lead, and @teenageengineering OP-1 field. Set against the sound of flowing water, it features the distorted tones of the Nord Lead’s Pelle mode and softly resonating harmonies, forming a tranquil ambient composition.
The Prophet-10 is connected to the @strymon blueSky, adding rich reverb to its sound.
The Nord Lead is played in Pelle mode, producing a warm, distorted tone. Its output passes through the @strymon NIGHTSKY for reverb and filtering, and then through the @ChaseBlissAudio GENERATION LOSS MKII, which adds a subtle tape effect.
On the OP-1 field, environmental sounds containing water ambience are played continuously using the HOLD sequencer. The playback position is adjusted to vary the texture of the loop throughout the piece."

OP-1 field x Modular synth x Prophet-10 | Minimal Electronic | Daily Quest 2025-11-01 by atnr
video upload by atnr
"This piece was created using @MAKEN0ISEMUSIC MORPHAGENE, @teenageengineering OP-1 field, and @SequentialLLC Prophet-10. It unfolds as a quiet minimal ambient composition that gradually converges into a distorted piano loop.
In the modular synthesizer, a sampled piano is played back on MORPHAGENE, with its output split into two paths. One signal passes through a Clouds clone, while the other is processed through @ChaseBlissAudio GENERATION LOSS MKII, adding saturation and a tape-like effect.
On the OP-1 field, a sequence is played using the ENDLESS sequencer, with manual filter adjustments opening and closing the tone throughout the performance.
The Prophet-10 is performed with reverb applied through the @strymon blueSky, adding depth and atmosphere to the sound."

The Florian Schneider Collection to Be Auctioned at JULIEN*S November 19
Note: links to listings are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.
via JULIEN*S
"THE FLORIAN SCHNEIDER COLLECTION
Auction to be held at Musician's Hall of Fame & Museum, Nashville, on November 19
An incredible collection of more than 450 artifacts from the life and career of Florian Schneider, co-founder of the pioneer electronic band Kraftwerk."
Pics and videos featuring some of the gear below, and his Lederhosen for good measure (thanks greg!).
Update: the post has been fully updated with all the synth related gear. This may just well be the longest post to be featured on the site. I wanted to capture all the pics for all of the details including notes, scuffs, and of course serial numbers. It's an interesting look into what he used, the condition he keped his gear, in some cases, how he actually used his gear. Note the phonetics on the keys of the Casio CZ-101 and DX-100. Note the Midi Switch Box with a built-in speaker? What's that about? Note the camouflage key strap on the Korg RK-100 Remote Keyboard. Did he pick it out himself or did the keytar just come with it? Note the repeat midi controllers and the MIDI saxaphones. Wind was his primary instrument. You'll find a ton of the acoustic gear he used in the other listings. This is a fascinating insight into both what and how he used his gear.
Side note: there is no affiliate compensation for this post. The note at the top automatically shows for all posts with the Auction label.

Rack Mount Sennheiser VSM-201 Vocoder
Starting Bid $5,000
Estimate $20,000 - $40,000 USD
A late 1970s Sennheiser VSM 201 Vocoder with no serial number from the personal studio and collection of Florian Schneider of Kraftwerk (see images). While it’s said that only a few dozen of these Vocoders were produced, a few examples made it into the hands of forward-thinking musical artists including Herbie Hancock, Daft Punk, and of course, Kraftwerk, who used a VSM-201 like this on their albums Man Machine (1978) and Computerworld (1981). The VSM-201 has an intelligible sound that has not yet been bested by modern gear. Includes power cable. This VSM-201 has been removed from its wooden enclosure (which bears the serial number plate) and modified with a metal rack mount casing, presumably for live use. Requires 240v, IEC power cable not included.
Dimensions: 19 x 9 x 9 inches
Category: Kraftwerk, Equipment
Provenance: PROVENANCE From the Estate of Florian Schneider

Tenzin Choegyal x Matt Corby - Improvised Session (Live from Happy)
video upload by Happy Mag
"✨ Matt Corby & Tenzin Choegyal Improvise for Live from Happy ✨
We’re still floating after this magical improvised session with the legendary Matt Corby and Tenzin Choegyal 🎶🔥
Two worlds collided, Matt’s soul-stirring harmonies met Tenzin’s transcendent Tibetan melodies, and wow, did we witness something special.
A raw, meditative, genre-defying moment that only these two could create. 🌀🙏 (And yes, we’re still recovering.)
Huge thanks to Pig Hog Cables for powering the magic behind the sound. ⚡️🔌

Lichtmaschine
video upload by Jörg Schaaf
"Bauhaus 1930
I visited the Bauhaus Museum in Dessau and stepped into this beautiful machine from 1930 - The Lichtmaschine. I had no tripod and filmed it with my mobile phone only. I created the soundtrack with the Prophet X sample synthesizer from Sequential and some of my own samples."
Prophet X - Epic Vol.4 | Super Jupiter Plus (SF2 available)
video upload by Espen Kraft
"A collection of the absolute best Roland Super Jupiter MKS-80 AND Sequential Six-Trak samples and patches inside your Prophet X.
A fat powerful VCO collection ready for your P X.
I've layered and multi-recorded 32 sounds from a Super Jupiter MKS-80 (Rev.5) and 18 of my best custom sounds from the Six-Trak.
All put into 50 epic multi-samples/instruments for your P X.
These are not sample-stretched sounds nor is there any overlap from the Epic Vol.1. These are all new samples. Total filesize is about 1.32Gb.
The price for this pack is $30USD (or €30Euros if you're in Europe) and considering you'll get the absolute best patches and samples ever made for these synths, directly onto your Prophet X, I think the price is fair. I've spent a lot of time making these sound absolutely stellar.
My CONTACT email address is this: espenkraft69@gmail.com If you want to purchase this pack please send me an email and I'll give you instructions on how to order. If you want a bundled (discount) price for multiple packs just let me know. I will only sell Prophet X packs directly through email.
Full installation notes included in the download.
All the multi-samples are also available as *sf2 (TAL sampler and Logic compatible) if you're interested. Price is the same.
I've included some patches to help you get going and you have two options of transfer: Bank U3 P41 – P59 or Bank A4 P41 - P59.
If you want to transfer the patches SOMEWHERE ELSE on your own PX, you can do so manually, by editing the individual sysex files."

J3PO's "Funk & Fusion Classics" Prophet Rev 2 Library -- Official Sounds Demo
video upload by Julian "J3PO" Pollack
"🔥 In this video, you can listen to all 28 patches 🎛️ included in the new J3PO 'Funk and Fusion Classics' patch library for the Prophet Rev2 🎹
I designed these patches for playing several shows with Herbie Hancock at the Hollywood Bowl. Sharing the stage with Herbie and the original Head Hunters was one of the most surreal and meaningful experiences of my life, a true full-circle moment as a lifelong fan.
These sounds were designed for tributes to Wayne Shorter and Weather Report, Herbie, Joe Zawinul, Stevie Wonder, Chick Corea, and more. From 'Chameleon' to 'Black Market,' these are stage-tested patches built for funk and fusion. This is the third volume in my 3-part Rev2 series, completing User Bank 4 (001–128) across all three packs. If you already have Vols. 1 and 2, this finishes the set. And if you’re new, you can now grab the full bundle. Check the link below for more info.

About the artist: Julian “J3PO” Pollack is a Los Angeles-based keyboardist, producer, and sound designer, renowned for his virtuosic yet soulful blend of jazz, fusion, hip-hop, and electronic music. Still Underrated? Prophet X in 2025
video upload by No Time to Play
"The Prophet X was one of the first hybrid synthesizers I got. It combines two VCOs with two sample engines — a structure that was truly groundbreaking. Whether any successors will match it remains to be seen. It’s a fascinating and versatile instrument, though unfortunately it has been discontinued. The tool used for importing samples was developed by a third party, and honestly, it’s quite difficult to use. I think it’s a real shame — the lack of a truly user-friendly software companion held the Prophet X back. Otherwise, I believe it could have continued to sell well.
This video showcases some of the key features of the Prophet X. Hope you find it helpful!"
