"The legendary Roland TR80*8 up against the *Roland TR-8S and the Behringer RD-8 Looking only at the sounds - or listening to them! - do they come anywhere close?
The TR-8S uses Roland's ACB technology, which is the same as the TR-8, Roland Cloud plugins and the Boutique TR-08 - so this has you covered for all of those. I'm using the RD-8 Mk2 - you cna tell because its got the black buttons, Mk1 had white.
I've gone through all the sounds (forgot the maracas in the demo bit) and showed how they differ. Taking into consideration no 2 808s will be identical I think they both stand up very well to the orginal TR808.

"The SH-2 has some kind of power over me. I can't get away from it. Not that I want to!
This is the first time I've tried adding a 3rd oscillator to the SH-2 by running a single Roland System-500 512 square with PWM into the external audio input. I thought this would naturally lead to making a massive 3 detuned osc + sub monosynth sound, but instead I gravitated to something much more melodic, by setting up each oscillator at a different pitch, making chords with nice intervals. With the ability to set the bender to VCO 2 only, I can change the interval of one of the notes easily, either up or down, without disrupting the vibe at all. The T-Rex Replicator tape delay adds some echo and gritty texture, and then the Make Noise Mimeophon delay fans it out into the stereo field. The sequence of notes is a simple 4 note arp that I transpose with the NiftyKeyz. The mod wheel is assigned to tape delay time, and the arp clock output is fed into a 2HP clock divider, which drives the kick, though half a beat behind because that's how clock dividers work I guess. The kick is a simple decay envelope routed to the G-Storm Electro SH-2 VCF with a moderate amount of resonance and saturation. There's an additional percussive element with some noise going to the G-Storm SH-5 VCF, through the LP first and then the dedicated bandpass which is being swept by an LFO.
The Blade Runner-ish lead sound is of course the Black Corporation Deckard's Voice, paired with the Rachael ring modulator, though it's not being used as a ring-mod, but rather a second sawtooth oscillator. 2 saws are essential to the BR sound, and therefore the Rachael is a required addition to Deckard's Voice. The output runs into the Happy Nerding FX Aid Pro set to the Black Cloud reverb algorithm, which completes the sound.
There's just a tiny dash of master reverb in post that serves as the final glue to hold it all together."

This version, launching next week, represents the essence of Roland Cloud as a super instrument encapsulating 50 years of Roland's legacy into a single plugin. Matt explained how Galaxis allows you to search 23,000 sounds across its interface, making it effortless to find the right sound without delving into every piece of hardware.
New features in version 1.5 include the ability to save and export scenes and custom set lists, along with two new effects: the Roland JC-120 and a new modulation delay.
He highlighted the plugin's capabilities like stacking layers called scenes and using macro controls for mapping multiple parameters. Each macro also features a dedicated LFO for enhanced sound manipulation. Galaxis 1.5 will be available at the end of January through the Roland Cloud Ultimate subscription."

Players can take creative command with a generous selection of hands-on controls for real-time sound adjustment. Dedicated buttons offer direct access to 16 sound categories, while Dual, Split, and Super Layer functions are available to combine tones or assign different parts to the left and right hands. With Favorites, the user can quickly recall tailor-made sounds for every song on the setlist.
JUNO-D also provides powerful tools for developing musical ideas and playing with backing tracks. There’s an eight-track sequencer with TR-REC step input and real-time recording options, plus eight phrase pads to trigger rhythm patterns or mute tracks to shape arrangements on the fly. Arpeggiator and chord memory functions are easily accessible to generate even more creative possibilities.
JUNO-D players can add vocals to their performances using the built-in mic input and professional effects, including compression, EQ, reverb, and noise suppression. Auto pitch and vocoder effects are also available to add the modern colors heard in current pop music.
The integrated audio/MIDI USB-C interface provides class-compliant support for a driverless connection to mobile devices and computers. Users can create and perform with their favorite music production software and infuse livestreams and music videos with pristine direct sound.
Each JUNO-D model has balanced stereo audio outputs to connect with studio speakers, a stage amp, or a house PA, plus a headphone jack for quiet practice and developing musical ideas. It’s also possible to play backing tracks and songs through the JUNO-D system from a smartphone or computer via USB-C or a flash drive connected to the dedicated USB memory port.
