Meet the M0SS 101 Synthesizer by Andrew John March
M0SS 101 DEMO video upload by Andrew March
"A quick demonstration on how to build a patch with the M0SS-101 synthesizer."
From the creator of WVR, the the M0SS 101 virtual analog monosynth is currently seeking funding on Kickstarter.
"M0SS-101 is a virtual analog monosynth built for a pure, hands-on subtractive synthesis, packed into a compact, rugged guitar pedal enclosure.
With 26 buttons and a single encoder, M0SS-101 gives you intuitive access to a deep 42-parameter virtual analog synthesis engine. Press a button to select a parameter, turn the encoder to modify it, and monitor your signal flow via the LED system.
Using a MIDI controller, you can map any parameter via simple MIDI learn, making it easy to integrate into your setup. Up to 17 presets can be saved and recalled for quick access to your favourite sounds.
The 26 RGB LEDs use colour and brightness to represent signal flow, modulation paths, settings and selections. A separate row of 11 LEDs at the bottom gives you instant visual feedback on the currently selected parameter. I aim to offer an affordable, compact, and versatile instrument, without sacrificing features, ergonomics, or most importantly, fun. I hope you'll enjoy playing this synth as much as I have :'-)"

【Machine & Performance】Behind the Mask's symbolic Synth Sound with novation mininova
video upload by nicolai maruhama
"This is the demo of mininova.
This time is about the synths sound of Behind the Mask.
I like the LIVE at THEATRE LE PALACE in 1979 of YMO.
It was sensational live for me was at 14 YO.
Akiko Yano's intro sound of OB SEM 8Voice, R. Sakamoto's polymoog and VP-330 sound, still everything have been shining.
At that time, SYNTHESIZER was so expensive but nowadays, even cheap one can sounds gorgeous!! But on the other hands, it's difficult to recreate the Analogue sound. So, I tried recreate the vintage sound with mininova because of this machine has a lot of special function on Oscillators and Filters.
Please Enjoy thanks!

ROLAND JUPITER-8 - Sound FX, Noise & Textures | Synth Demo
Published on Mar 29, 2020 synth4ever
"Roland Jupiter 8 analog synthesizer demo featuring some experimental sound FX, noise and ambient textures on vintage Jupiter-8 synth from Roland.
In this Roland Jupiter-8 demo I go through a few patches featuring LFO and pitch modulation, oscillator cross-modulation, as well as white noise textures and soundscapes.
The Roland Jupiter 8 an 8-voice polyphonic analog synthesizer from Roland which was released in the early 1980s. The Jupiter-8 was Roland's flagship synth at the time, and features discrete analog circuitry including 2 VCOs, 2 LFOs, a 12/24fb LPF, HPF, 2 ADSR envelopes, osc sync and cross-mod, portamento and arpeggiator.
The Jupiter-8 has a sweet analog sound, a colorful and inviting front panel layout, and is an all around versatile analog synthesizer. The Roland Jupiter 8 synthesizer has attained legendary synth status and has been used by countless musicians and has been played on many hit songs over the years. The Jupiter 8 commands very high prices on the second hand market these days.
This Roland Jupiter-8 synthesizer demo was filmed at Synth Palace music studio in Montreal, Quebec Canada (http://www.synthpalace.net)"

ARP RHODES CHROMA Analog Synthesizer - Sounds, Patches & Ambient Soundscapes | Synth Demo
Published on Jan 25, 2020 synth4ever
"ARP Rhodes Chroma analog synthesizer demo featuring various sounds, patches, presets and ambient soundscapes. This Rhodes Chroma synth demo covers a variety of sounds on the Chroma and features some effects from Strymon Big Sky. Filmed at Synth Palace (http://www.synthpalace.net) in Montreal, Canada.
The Rhodes Chroma is a vintage analog synth originally designed by ARP, and then completed by Rhodes in the early 1980s. Only 3000 Rhodes Chroma synths were manufactured, making it fairly rare today. Its sound can be described as big, brash, powerful and aggressive in tone, but also refined, harmonically rich and organic.
The ARP Rhodes Chroma uses VCOs and features 16 voice mode (1-osc per voice) and 8-voice mode (2-osc per voice). The synth engine architecture is very powerful and allows for complex sound creation, parameter routing and modulation. The Chroma uses an Electronically Reconfigurable System which allows the VCOs, VCFs and VCAs to be reconfigured, or "patched" like modular synthesizers, but without the patch cords.
For example, filters can be arranged in series for 4 pole or band-pass response, or in parallel for notch filtering. In addition, some configurations feature oscillator synchronization, filter frequency modulation or ring modulation.
The Rhodes Chroma has 16 LFOs (1 or 2 per voice) which are digitally generated -- shapes include: sine, cosine, offset sine, half sine, saw, square, lag square, 2 x triangles, random and 6 x patterns. The filter can be set to 24dB/oct low-, high-, band-pass or notch modes, or 12dB/oct low- or high-pass modes. It also has digitally generated ADSR envelopes.
The ARP Rhodes Chroma has a 64-note keyboard, which is velocity sensitive and weighted action, with optional polyphonic aftertouch capability (if installed). It can store 50 programs, is 2-part multi-timbral, and can also be expanded up to 32/16 voices of polyphony via the separate Chroma Expander unit (also quite rare).
In its standard configuration, editing the Rhodes Chroma in real-time is very difficult as it uses membrane panel buttons and a single data slider for changing parameters. However, today there are Behringer BCR2000 sysex templates available for download, as well as custom controllers available for purchase from manufacturers like StereoPing (https://www.stereoping.com/synth-prog...) and Red Shift Consulting's "ENABLER" (http://www.redshift-consulting.com/en...) which give you direct hands-on control via knob-per-function design.
I hope you enjoy this demo of the Rhodes Chroma by ARP. It is a colossal synth and versatile instrument, and sounds magnificent to this day. The raw power and tone from the Rhodes Chroma is something which must be heard in person, as some have suggested it is essentially a polyphonic ARP 2600. Needless to say, I was very impressed with this beautiful synth and its sounds. Hope you enjoy the demo."

MOOG MEMORYMOOG - Presets, Sounds & Patches 【SYNTH DEMO】
Published on Dec 5, 2018 synth4ever
"Synth demo of the Moog Memorymoog analog synthesizer, filmed at the Synth Palace in Montreal, Quebec Canada (www.synthpalace.com or .net).
Introduced in 1982, the Moog Memorymoog synth has 6-voices of polyphony, MIDI and is well known for creating huge and powerful sounds. It is often described as being 6 Minimoogs in a single unit, and some may consider the new Moog One synthesizer as the spiritual successor to the Memorymoog.
The Moog Memorymoog features 3 VCOs per voice (Curtis CEM 3340), 1 LFO, a resonant 24dB Low-Pass Filter, 2 ADSR envelopes, arpeggiator, unison mode, digital pink noise, patch memory and more. For example, VCO 3 can be used to modulate various parameters to create FM-like timbres.
Some Moog Memorymoogs have a history of being unstable/tuning issues, but there have been upgrades including the Memorymoog Plus, and the LAMM rebuild from Lintronics which completely modernize and resolve such issues.
This Moog Memorymoog synth demo features some ambient sounds, patches and presets from the Memorymoog analog synth from Moog including pads, leads, noise, and soundscapes.
All sounds are from the Moog Memorymoog synthesizer with some delay from Strymon El Capistan effects pedal."

ROLAND JUPITER-6 - Presets, Sounds & Patches 【SYNTH DEMO】
Published on Nov 30, 2018 synth4ever
"Synth demo of the Roland Jupiter-6 analog synthesizer, filmed at the Synth Palace in Montreal, Quebec Canada (www.synthpalace.com or .net).
Introduced in 1983, the Roland Jupiter-6 synth has 6-voices of polyphony, MIDI and is well known for creating cutting leads, buzzy drones and techy blips and beeps.

Many people consider the Roland Jupiter-6 to be the little brother of the Roland Jupiter-8, but the Jupiter 6 stands on its own two feet and has its own distinct sound.
This Roland Jupiter 6 synth demo features some ambient sounds, patches and presets from the Jupiter 6 analog synth from Roland including leads, arpeggiator, pads, LFOs, noise and resonance.
All sounds are from the Roland Jupiter 6 synthesizer with a touch of delay from Strymon El Capistan effects pedal."

An Interview with Barry Schrader
Hi everyone! As you know Barry Schrader will be giving his farewell concert at CalArts on September 26. The following is the beginning of my interview with him. I opted to post the questions and answers as they come in. New QAs will get a new post so you do not miss them and they will be added to this post so we have one central post for the full interview. This should make it easier for all of us to consume in our busy lives, and it will allow you to send in any questions that may come to mind during the interview process. If you have anything you'd like to ask Barry, feel free to send it in to matrixsynth@gmail.com. This is a rare opportunity for us to get insight on a significant bit of synthesizer history, specifically with early Buchla systems, and I'd like to thank Barry for this opportunity. Thank you Barry!
