"Just got this synth (on loan) yesterday and I've spent the day exploring its functions. So far I'm loving the built in spring reverb (watch/listen to what happens when I shake it!) and the voltage controlled panning. Here is a very short clip of some spooky halloween sounds. Looking forward to using this in some tracks and for some FX in the upcoming Simonsound podcast mix.

Don't forget, The Simonsound cover of Tour de Mars is out on the 2nd of November!!!!"

Moog Halloween Theremin Videos

You might remember Moog's Halloween Theremin Video Contest. The following are the entries. Enjoy.

"A circuit bent "relaxation" device. It has a classic clock bend, with floating voltage, three clock electrodes, and a volume knob on the front. The 1/4" output on the back cuts off the speaker when a cable is plugged into it."
Only relaxing on Halloween...

via Gregor on the Analog Heaven list:
"This unit was originally modified by Sebastian Niessen, a technician who did a lot of modification stuff for Kraftwerk. It includes a Keyboard-MIDI which emulates the original Keyboard action via MIDI and allows velocity-sensitive Filter modulation separately for each SEM (see the 4 pots below). The four jacks on the bottom are for the external inputs of the SEMs. If no Jack is inserted, an internal noise generator is routed to the EXT input."

Teenage Engineering OP-1 to Have Built In Radio

"So. This is what this day's massive blog contribution actually is about. The first preview of Op-1's built in FM Radio! What you hear in this demo are some simple effects added and some channel selection in the end. There's also a sequenced beat playing parallel. Remember that this is a very early experiment. We still have some home work to do to fully explore the full potential of having a synthesizer with built-in FM radio (!)"

Listen to it here. Click here for more samples of the OP-1 that just went up.
