sync thing in a gameboy (two gameboy sync)

YouTube via RustyNex — May 28, 2010 — "this is a gameboy i built for a customer, i was a be reluctant to build it as it uses my sync thing which isn't fully developed yet. but the results were better than i had expected. this video shows how the system can be synced with another gameboy and pass its effects onto that gameboy as well. this is running as master

the gameboy was very difficult to build, i was designing it as i built it because the sync thing wasn't finished yet and so i had to add bits as i built it to make it work and i was running out of room. in the end i had to loose the headphone jack and internal speaker"

Quicken Moon Concert - Performance of 月伸1 by Amar

YouTube via catsynth — April 11, 2010 — "Performance of 月伸1 by Amar at the Luggage Store Gallery on February 25, 2010. The video features his "wondercat" Luna. The live improvised performance uses the Octave CAT vintage analog synthesizer, Korg KAOS pad, Dave Smith Evolver., and Monome controller."

This one brought a smile to my face.
You can find more videos as well as additional details on CatSynth here.

On this particular piece: "Of course, the highlight of the set was the premier of 月伸1, featuring improvised electronic music set against a video of Luna. Musically, I focused on the Octave CAT (seemed appropriate) with the other electronic instruments in a supporting role.

The music was improvised live, with some prepared guidelines. In this way, it was reminiscent of the live music performances from old silent films. I kept the music relatively sparse and maintained the focus on the visual elements, which moved back and forth between clips of Luna and abstract visual elements (you can read more about the video production here [see link above]). The audience clearly responded to the video of Luna and the music, and their laughter at very points reminded just how funny a piece this was."

The Travel Bug By Ben Houston - Folktek Arts

via this auction
"This custom piece is part of a folktek series entitled "philanthropoid"". Known simply as the Bug series. Also in the series on the site and around the world is the Mantis, dronescape sequencer, the book of sound, the moth, the growling insect, the bug, the octa-hedra, walking stick, pendulum translator and others. The sound is phenomenol and continues to amaze us. It is a sonic symphony of nasty and grimy sweetness, endless layers of sound possibilities emenating from High quality OSC originally based on high tech speech synthesis. Seemingly random bits can be rediscovered time and time again and then there are those moments that you will most likely never rediscover. Endlessly captivating, this piece WILL provide sounds that you will not find in other synthesizers and will astonish you every time you turn it on.

This particular piece features a custom hardwood box with lid, four patchable knobs, and a twelve point magnetic patchbay. This allows you to determine function and provides tons of flexibility. In addition, two more knobs (global knob control and power kill) , glowing lamp power indicator , 2 folktek button/switches for activate and freeze mode sections, reset, 1/4" output, basic manual of function and layout. You'll be able to cipher through waveforms and textures with extreme sensitivity in thousands of ways. Waveforms (individual, or multiple layers) can be captured and maintained, often intermodulating in beautiful and/or disturbing ways. Super sensitive knobs let you filter through tons of sounds and glitchscapes. Albums are waiting to be created here as the sound is quite different from anything else you'll find..

Includes DC adaptor"
