Rock Band 3 Guitar is a MIDI Controller

Not only does the keyboard have MIDI, but the guitar as well. Via Create Digital Music where you'll find the full scoop.

"Since the very first Guitar Hero game, musicians have found ways of converting game music controllers into genuine music controllers, through various hacks and tricks. But now, no hackery is needed: Rock Band 3′s new “Pro” controllers ship with actual MIDI DIN ports on the back. With the help of Harmonix, we get to look inside how that MIDI implementation works."

This is an excerpt from a 12 minute piece.
For the synthgeeks, the multiple MC-202 sequences were tape-synced and all JP-8 tracks were individually performed onto an old Tascam 1/2" eight-track tape deck."

See the Halloween label below for more. BTW, if you have anything you want to send in for the holidays, send it to matrixsynth at gmail.com. The general rule for posts is they have to demo specific synths you can identify, but for holiday posts I'll typically make the exception as long as they are remotely synth related.
