Update via pinkster in the comments: "had one of these in the mid 70's, this may well be the coolest feckin' pedal of all time. lucky enough to have found one via a friend, who's had it in his garage for the last 30 years, pick it up next week. this isn't a synthesizer or a guitar effect, it was meant as an interface unit to process audio thru the control voltage inputs on classic analog synths...you could put vocals, drums, sax, damn near anything thru it and process to your heart's content. luckily for guitarists, it is very guitar friendly...but sadly few specimens exist anymore, most were shipped to school electronic music programs in the late 60's and sadly many were discarded. while they are well worth the price when you can find one, don't expect it to be more than what it is. it features wah, pedal controlled formants, phasing, fuzz and a hefty preamp among other interesting and uncommon sounds. caveats are the mushroom shaped footswitches are impossible to find, however they can be repaired with modern dpdt or 3pdt footswitches. if you can find one, it's not hype, it is absolutely the coolest effect unit possibly ever produced. pink jimi photon"

Update 11/18/22 via pinkster in the comments
" hi guys,
as it turned out, my friend had MY original pII, and i have re-aquired it.

that said, myself, r.g. keene, dino and brian from the diystompboxes forum have CLONED the pII, the first working prototype is working, and the first set of boards has been ordered.
soon, any diy'er handy with a soldering iron can build their own for their private use. the entire project is available on r.g.'s geofex.com website, so get them guns warmed up and whip out the credit card...as in addition to cloning (and a LOT of the info on the schems was wrong compared to the three units me and dino came up with) we've updated to more modern parts where applicable, and it sounds dead on like the originals...i highly reccomend this project to interested parties, looking at about 100$ american for the parts.
peace

YouTube via virtualoberheim | January 20, 2011 |

Playing some famous 80ies songs with the SonicProjects OP-X PRO-II virtual analog VSTi synth. All heard sounds are coming from several instances of OP-X PRO-II, except for drums which originally were programmed in Cubase with Steiberg Groove Agent and then imported into ProTools 8.

So the only two instruments involved are SonicProjects OP-X PRO-II and Steinberg Groove Agent. No external effects have been used. The used presets of OP-X PRO-II are all available in the "FAMOUS" bank. OP-X PRO-II has been wrapped to RTAS with the Fxpansion VST-To-RTAS adapter.

Featured Songs:

1. Howard Jones - New Song
2. Duran Duran - Save A Prayer
3. Queen - I Want You Break Free
4. Queen - Radio Ga Ga
5. Madonna - Holiday
6. Barclay James Harvest - Life Is For Living
7. Barclay James Harvest - Victims Of Circumstance

The making of 'Missing You'

YouTube via attorks | January 20, 2011 |

music comes in at 4:14

"Last Monday evening I made a video with the title 'Missing You'. But for some reason I am not able to upload it to YouTube. I tried 4 times but after a while I get the message 'Failed (upload aborted)'. So this evening I thought, let's make a video explaining the actions I did in that video. I had to keep my voice somewhat low because my daughter was sleeping in a room on the floor below me. The video 'Missing You' and the music of that video are available on my website." http://www.attorks.nl/html/main.html - video link on the left.
