"More fun with the M-Audio Venom. Note this is not a proper demo. I am creating a TouchOSC template for all editable parameters in single mode of the Venom and I thought I'd throw this video up. The Venom is turning out to be a surprisingly deep synth. In this video I'm just tweaking the distortion parameters in the Insert FX page of my editor. Wireless control is via The Missing Link. Sliders from left to right: Depth, PreGain, PostGain and High Cutoff. The bottom end drops out in the video as I am still using the mic in on my Canon T2i. No time to sync audio and video just yet. Trust me, it sounds MUCH better live. The more I play with this synth the more I am impressed. I don't want to give too much away before my proper review, but it sounds really, really good. There are things you can do with this synth that you simply cannot do with others. This is a deep and powerful synth. Note this is Single mode with only one patch. The Venom supports Multi mode with up to four patches active."

Marsynth Nomad Beta Demo 1

YouTube via Uploaded by marsynth on Mar 10, 2011

"This is the first demo of the new Marsynth Nomad: a high quality tremolo paired with a unique and complex feedback system.

In this video, I am simply running a guitar through the Nomad with not other effects. You can hear a bit of a hum in parts of the demo which is a result of me using a single coil pickup guitar (not an artifact of the Nomad!). The Nomad equally handles other inputs like vocals, synthesizers, and other sound sources, some of which I will include in another demo. Of course, the Nomad is just as fun with no input at all, wandering off into self-oscillating bliss.

Beta units are being tested now, and production units will be available within a few months.

Keep up to date on Nomad updates as well as other Marsynth news here: http://www.marsynth.com/

Thanks for watching!"

"Octave rounding already lets you arpeggiate and run scales very fast. I made a change to the rules that simplifies pentatonic runs so that those are easy to play very fast as well."

Agony

YouTube via Uploaded by attorks on Mar 10, 2011

"About 2 weeks ago I bought a second hand Doepfer A-189-1 Voltage Controlled Bit Modifier. I build a +/-15V to +/-12V converter to power the module (though not necessary I understood) and now it's working. And yes, I now can reproduce that beautiful Mark Shreeve bass sound with that metal edge to it. Anyway, this is a new improvisation but I heard some elements of the Warriors Theme I did before.

The Synthesizers.com Modular , which is connected to the Doepfer A-189-1 module, initially does a 4-step sequence and after a while I switch that to an 8-step sequence. The sawtooth output Ian Fritz Teezer Through-Zero VCO is modulated by the GCS Steiner filter and drives the Blacet Miniwave. This produces a modulated sound. This procedure is described on the Muff's forum by Volt and is called 'MiniWave Table Tilting'. The self-built Modular does a 4-step sequence. The theme is played on the Roland XP-80 doing the Mellotron strings. The Waldorf Q Keyboard produces some agonizing sounds and the odd solo is performed on the Clavia Nord Lead 1.

You can download/see/hear the video and music from my website soon."
