Moog Circuit Bending Challenge 2014 Entry by George Gleixner

Published on Feb 22, 2014 George Gleixner·104 videos

"Here's my Circuit Bent Hing Hon EK-001 squarewave keyboard, built into an upright style synth, which runs on four AA batteries (6V). Three months of semi-constant work for the Moog circuit bending challenge of 2014 :] I hope you enjoy. In this demo I try to run over some of the more pertinent mod combinations while keeping the demo time to a minimum. All sounds in this video are raw.

NOTE: At 19:22 Youtube REMOVED THE AUDIO. It was a song by Squarepusher to demonstrate visual feedback from an external source. For a demonstration of this mod, follow this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=du6Ve...

Highlights:

0:35 - Distortion modulation on rhythm
2:00 - Engage drum glitch switches
4:30 - All LFOs in use with keys
6:20 - Short demo of hex keyboard (and optic theremin)
8:30 - Rhythm skip/LED based optic theremin mod, then LFOs added
12:41 - Optic theremin for dist. modulation controlled by hand movements
13:30 - Vibrato touch contact
14:05 - Crude CV input (TR-626 playing rhythm, x0xb0x as CV source)
17:13 - Black and white visualization output demo (keyboard sounds)
18:20 - Audio input distorted (x0xb0x as audio source)
19:18 - B&W visualization output (from external audio input)
20:25 - Video input distortion
22:23 - Link opens a treasure chest! (hex keyboard)

Published on Feb 22, 2014 benweichiba·70 videos

"Live recording of a pattern controlled by midi sync from Ableton Live 8 , to my unfinished track "Hooked up" already containing 4 more tracks of MicroBRUTE.
The track ran out so I finished off with an analog tap dance outro.
I filmed the video using the GoPro Hero3 black edition."

Catherine's blAckNUSHRI - Mutable Instruments Black Anushri, noise, dubstep, drums, overdrive

Published on Feb 22, 2014 heodesalciphron·184 videos

"** Anushri built by Catherine, yellow girl in the polaroïd picture **
my second Anushri, first one found a new home
drum tweaked with CC (via a nordmodular patch), mixed separatly
Anushri synth, overdrive/not overdrive, drone, sequences, dubstep total noob performance

00:00 intro noise
02:00 drum - can get very nice drums when you start tweak with CC
04:20 noise again, playing with the LFO to Filter
05:30 sequence - so dark, so black, so distored, but still so sweat wow
07:08 noise again, calling friends on other planets, morse code and more
09:30 dark sequence again, still sooooo ahhhhhhhhhh wow"

Randomized Gates (modular self-generating patch)

Published on Feb 21, 2014 alternatingbitmusic·59 videos

"I'm still exploring the concept of the self-generating patch, and having a lot of fun with it.
The centerpiece of this track is definitely the Club of the Knobs C 1680 Analog Delay, with gate triggers (SSL V-Gates & Moon Modular 563) affecting the delay rate & feedback."

"Buchla clocks the Volca Beats and sends a sequence and some modulation to the MS-20 mini. No midi. No effects, just some Altiverb."

korg VOLCA &GUITAR live SESSION - AMBIENT CHILL LOUNGE JAM (volca beats bass keys Xbase09 Juno 60)

Published on Feb 22, 2014 VolcaRock·11 videos

"KORG VOLCA Series & Guitar on an CHILL AMBIENT LIVE SESSION with Roland Juno 60, Jomox Xbase 09, Waldorf Microwave I, Nord Modular, Doepfer MS 404 (at the end). Main synths are Volca Keys, Bass (sorry a bit too loud in the mix...) & Beats with individual Hi Hat Output. I have described in the video (filmed with 3 cams), what Synths are playing/muted. So you don't have to guess the different sounds.

First time I added to the whole track Video material from Street scenes in Dresden, filmed with Leica and canon with a very old Zeiss Jena Biometar 80mm with Tilt-Adapter for a different look

Yamaha RM1x is only used as sequencer and MIDI-Clock Master, Beats has MIDI-Out Mod and syncs my Boomerang III Looper. Recorded without overdubs, Noise Reduction and mastering in just one take.

ENJOY LISTENING AND WATCHING :-)

KORG VOLCA SET UP:
Volca Keys signal left channel into MFB-Filterbox and right channel straight into the Submixer, with heavy use of Delay
Volca Bass into the sub mixer
Volca Beats into the sub mixer
