DC1drumcomputer functions demo Mar2014

Published on Mar 11, 2014 Davide Mancini·27 videos

"Some other DC1drumcomputer functions as the product grows!
Here you can see song mode (several types available in the final product!), the load/store capabilities (in the first public revision you will have 64 pattern memories), the individual track length and so on...
Sorry for the slight offset of the synth line :)"

Shruthi Poly Demo

"This is a demo of 29 different sounds played polyphonically on 6 different Shruthi synthesizers, from Mutable Instruments, using a MidiPal to assign notes to each monophonic synthesizer. There are 2 ladder filters (from TubeOhm), 2 4PM filters, one SMR4 MK1 filter and one SMR4 MK2 filter in the group. If you listen carefully (or not so carefully on some of the samples), you can hear the variations caused by the different filters.

I just played whatever came into my head when I heard the patch, and it’s one take per sample, no overdubbing (mistakes and all that). There’s a bit of Saffire reverb added, and recording was done with Reaper. The patches are from the stock set, FunkyFli’s bank, TubeOhm’s bank, some stuff from Gadget Fiend and a few others.

Some of the patches were edited slightly by me to help them work polyphonically. Use headphones if possible, the six instruments are panned across the stereo field and bounce around a bit.

Volca Beast II Free Drum Sample Library (Link for one-shot samples below in description)

"Volca Beast II free sound library revisits the sound of Korg's new analog drum machine with expanded sonic capabilities.

The Volca Beats was put through boutique sound processing to create even more depth and range. From quick thumpy sounds for techno and like genres, to beefy Hip-Hop style rhythms, Volca Beast can easily fit into most productions.

Samples labeled with a lower-case letter after them are multi-samples. This gives you the choice of randomizing each hit so you keep some of the analog integrity.

All sounds are offered in 16 and 24 bit resolution, 44.1kHz wave files.

If you would like to contribute to the hard work it took to make these samples, please visit our store at www.darksideofthetune.com and purchase one of the many sample libraries available.

"* semi-modular analogue synthesizer
* dual oscillator, dual multimode-filter
* separate inputs/outputs for both filters
* 18 patch connections in signal chain
* two LFOs with „One Shot“-function
* CV/Gate and MIDI control

The two oscillators have the four waveforms triangle, sawtooth, square and spike. VCO 2 instead of the spike has a noise generator. VCO2 can be detuned about plus or minus one octave compared to VCO 1. About a patch connection can be the oscillators sync with each other. In addition, the signal can be tapped off separately from VCO 2 can be used to filter modulation.

The two 12-dB-state-variable multimode filter feature of the operating modes low, band and high-pass and notch (bandstop). The filters are connected in series, thus with the same mode of operation results in a greater slope. This value is variable, since the two cutoff frequencies can be shifted via Space-controllers against each other. With the combination of low-and high-pass results in a band-pass with variable width and separately controllable resonances. About a patch connection, a parallel connection of the filter is possible. Then two offset bandpass filters, a notch filter with variable width or a low-or high-pass with projecting bandpass can be realized. The response can be regulated for both filters up to self-oscillation. The cutoff frequencies are jointly regulated or controlled by envelope. They also can be moved on the Space controls against each other. The modulation via LFO or the mod input acts together either on filter 1 or both filters.
