"Note this JX-3P HAS the MIDI "THRU" which some earlier models lack, very handy to have in a multi synth setup!

THE ORGANIX MOD

[ See Photos to show the fitted mod - very tidy and well fitted inside ]

With this JX-3P is the great mod from [Organix] (when you can actually get one - quite rare these days), not only do you get the mod but of course it's all fitted and tested working for many years of use in my home studio. This mod, though fairly simple, has some great additions such as the ability to use your PG-200 at the same time as MIDI, full software control over the JX-3P via MIDI CC and you can of course use any programmable midi knob box INSTEAD of having to find/use an expensive original PG-200. Without this mod the JX-3P can not use Midi boxes (only the PG-200). I have used this myself with a BCR2000 and a Novation Remote Zero - both worked great and imo were somewhat less fiddly than the PG-200 which has rather small knobs and quite clustered together (yes I owned a PG-200 at one point too). I particularly like using the remote zero as you can make the LCD strips show what feature you are controlling and the zero's faders work great with filter sweeps etc (better than the PG-200 knobs imo).

On top of this you get a Windows Software editor for the JX-3P that comes with the organix mod. While I rarely used this myself as I preferred the hardware knob box approach, it's cool to have. For full list of mod additions please visit the link above and see what it contains. I think the mod was around £100 or so when I bought it (with shipping) and factor in fitting costs (they wouldn't be cheap as it's quite a long job inc some soldering) and it would soon add up. Here this 3P has it already and is ready to be programmed from any midi box that sends control change msgs

Do NOT underestimate how much better it is to program the JX via knobs and sliders - you can pick up a BCR very cheaply these days 2nd hand and it will plug straight into this organix modded 3P and after setup (telling it which CCs to use or 'learning it' from the software editor/or 3P by sending out the CCs from the paramaters) - will work.

YOU CAN NOT DO THAT WITH A STANDARD/STOCK JX-3P!

List of features:
- simultaneous use of the MIDI Input and PG-200 (Usually PG-200 use will disable MIDI input)
- control the JX-3P realtime with standard MIDI CC messages. (i.e. with a MIDI-Knob controller or Sequencer).
- all knobs and switches on the PG-200 send out standard MIDI CC messages (record into Sequencer!)
- select the MIDI channel on the JX-3P as 1, 2, 3 or OMNI (usually unselectable)
- velocity sensitivity (MIDI input only, not the keyboard)"
