Sequential Circuits Prophet 5 Synthesizer with Plastic Overlay

"Sequential Circuits Prophet 5 original vintage analog polyphonic synthesizer. This is a Revision 2 board that has been upgraded to Revision 3 specifications, including MIDI added and memory banks upgraded to the full 128 offered in later revisions.

Cosmetically it is in Excellent Condition. There is a protective plastic cover on the face which has kept the graphics perfect and helps keep dust from getting inside the board. Corners are all great as shown in photos.

Functionally it is great with the only issue being that a few of the keys 'stutter' sometimes when pressed. I'm told this is an indicator that the key bed or contact wires need cleaning. I've had this in my studio since I bought from the original owner about 3 years ago, but have not used it much for the past year so I can see that. No other known issues. But I am not an expert on these machines and I don't want to dig into it myself so I am selling it 'as is'. Like all these machines the tuning drifts when on for awhile and that is why the automatic TUNE button is right on front in this revision."

Synthrotek MST VCO Now Available!

You've seen the videos first here and here. The Synthrotek MST VCO based on George Mattson's Mattson Mini Modular VCO design is now available here. This completes the Synthrotek MST eurorack line of modules and offers a complete system. Previously a George Mattson system was only available in the proprietary Mattson Mini Modular format along with a few individual eurorack modules from Division-6.

The new MST VCO is available in complete, kit, and PCB/Panel form.

Here's what Synthrotek has to say about the release:

"The circle is complete!

We are super stoked to announce that we now have the first very complete Eurorack monophonic voice in both kit and complete form. The VCO was the last of the modules that are essential to this complete voice. Customers can now build or purchase complete this module to either make a very complete monophonic ‘east-coast’ style voice or add this 100% analog beautiful sounding oscillator to their current system. Like most of the other modules in the MST line, the VCO was designed by synth legend George Mattson."

Using Moog Werkstatt-01 with Arturia Beatstep Pro

Published on Aug 29, 2015 Metatron's Cube

"I have seen people using many different configurations to connect with their Werkstatt using the CV expander board. Here is an example(several combined) using the Beatstep Pro that I posted on Facebook in the Moog Werkstatt group. I thought maybe this would help by uploading it to YouTube as well. Description of hook-up below.
I have both keyboard and CV in tune and matched(according to a crappy phone app tuner). Here were my settings and CV hook-ups:
Pitch CV out-VCO EXP FM IN, Gate CV out-GATE OUT(acts as a gate in for no clicking), and Velocity out-EG OUT(acts as an input, but can be left out, but sounds better/right in). VCA mode switch to EG, Sustain switch off, VCO mod switch to LFO, dest to PWM, VCF mod source to EG.
There is no clicking this way making it far more usable for recording. All of the knobs still function this way too, the attack and decay can be adjusted as well as all the other fuctions. I've noticed when hooking the CV connections up differently it works far worse and gets rid of/breaks some of the functions on the Werkstatt. Thanks for watching/listening!"

TTSH ARP 2600 Clone with Gate Booster Mod

Published on Aug 28, 2015

via this auction

"For sale is a hand built, perfect circuit clone of the infamous ARP2600. The synth was professionally built by an electronics technician, with 15 years of experience in synthesizer repair. This synth was built with all of the rare, originally used electronic parts. Additionally, built into the case is a new spring reverb, built with the same specs and by the same company that provided the original reverb units for the ARP2600. There are two modifications that have been added to improve on the original designs. There are 3 separate VCO sub-regulator boards which further regulate the power delivered to the VCO’s; this corrects an original design flaw in the ARP2600 by providing added pitch stabilization. Also added is a gate/trigger booster so it can be used with modern synths, such as Eurorack modular, Arturia Mini/Microbrutes, Arturia Beatstep, etc. The gate/trigger booster has been normalized to the traditional input jacks such that when unplugged it uses the traditional ARP +15v triggers, when plugged in it can accept any trigger from +3v and up; thus making it compatible with virtually anything that outputs gate/cv. The case was professionally built by a kitchen cabinet company and is solid maple, stained black.

This unit is 75% the size of the original, measuring 25”w x 16.5” h x 8” d and weighing 28 lbs..."
