"Beautiful vintage Yamaha CS-40m in excellent functional and cosmetic condition. For a synth of it's age, this unit is in remarkable condition. The minor exceptions to perfection are: the tiny led indicator for memory slot 9 is missing but the memory still functions; The right rear corner of the wood trim is worn and there are a few small chips here and there on the edges of the wood finish. See photos. The CS-40m is a 2 voice version of the CS-20m. In unison mode you have 4 VCO's for a really massive sound. It also gives you 20 slots of patch memory. It's built large and solid so the shipping cost reflects it's 46 lb bulk. Comes with original owner's manual and power cord."

God's Box Humpback meets Akemie

Published on Oct 9, 2015 vcoadsr

"Eurorack modular jam/experiment seeing how the 'Humpback' SEM-style filter by God's Box plays with a digital input oscillator, in this case the ALM Busy Circuits Akemie's Castle."

iTunes: FlexyKick - Yann Jubelin

"FlexyKick is an electronic kick synthesizer that also can be used for sub-bass sounds, it has a simple looper recording up to 10 seconds.

Audiobus and inter-app audio compatible.

It allows you to shape the sound using the touch and motion of the device and reacts in similar way to skinned percussions.

It has a special sliding mode for performing sustained sounds."

Neon Opto-modulator and Full system demo

Published on Oct 9, 2015 karl welty

"Demo of my optical modulator for a neon lamp ring oscillator. Also a full system demo. Been building many neon synth modules lately but exposed board build with 200 volts is not a wise idea with a curious kitty. I built a see through lid for when I'm not near to discourage her. This represents the first time I've been able to run them indoors.

Video section one - The ring oscillator using four segments hard sync as a low pitched squarewave. As the light spins it changes pitch through the sync chain varying the pulsewidth. Subtle chorusing vibrato, the effect can also be applied to the solo voice if the ring is used as a modulator into it.

Video section two - Arbitrary demo of four elements, pretty much as the knobs happen to have been set. The ring oscillator as a low drone, the base five module being modulated by the LFO, the second squarewave oscillator being modulated by the random pattern generator, and the solo voice run from the keypad with modulation from osc 7 of the ring."

Drip Hop | Modular Beats Patch

Published on Oct 8, 2015 r beny

"Something a little different than my usual ambient/experimental stuff. Made this patch on my Eurorack system the other night and thought it was cool enough to document. I recently got a Beatstep Pro and have been loving the drum triggers.

Crude Patch Notes

Kick: Make Noise STO with envelope from Maths
Snare: Bastl Noise Squre digital out with envelope from Maths
Percussion 1: Mutable Instruments Elements with mallet and strike timbre being randomly modulated by Make Noise Wogglebug
Percussion 2: Make Noise Mysteron with type being randomly modulated by Wogglebug, going into Elements resonator-in.
Percussion 3: Mannequins Three Sisters self-oscillating. Mutable Instruments Tides Parasite in 2-Drunks mode is randomly modulating frequency. High, low and centre outputs are going into the Make Noise RXMX where the Beatstep Pro triggers the strike input.
Chord drone: Make Noise Telharmonic H out going to the Pittsburgh Modular In/Out and then an Old Blood Noise Endevours Black Fountain Delay pedal and a Digitech Polara Reverb pedal.
Melody: Mannequins Mangrove formant out to the In/Out and into the same pedals as above. Enevelope from Make Noise Function.

All sequencing handled by the Arturia Beatstep Pro. I fiddle around with the release time on the melody (the fall time on Function) and the formant and barrel on Mangrove."

Our Distant Home

"A pastiche blend of Berlin School and Blade Runner soundtrack vibe.

The bass line is sculpted with a pair of Arp 4072 style filters. The Yusynth Arp 4072 and the STG Soundlabs Post Lawsuit Low Pass Filter are tapping a pair of Q106 VCO's and run in parallel to a mixer. The Yusynth filter is routed through a Behringer Space-C CC300 Chorus pedal prior to the mix.

The sequencer for the bass line is the STG Soundlabs Voltage Mini Store. Timing for the bass line is from the STG Soundlabs Time Divider in dotted quarter notes.

Master clock time is within the modular from an SSL TapTempo LFO.

A mix of dotted eighth and sixteenth notes against some triplets and straight time notes round out the various sequencer clocks.

The manually played parts (E.Piano and Strings) are on a Casio Privia PX-5S and a Novation ReMOTE (flutey Mellotron) from a SampleTron vst in Cubase.

All recorded in real-time stereo track to Cubase. Video edited in Final Cut Pro.

If it isn't obvious, the inspiration for this track came from a (weak) combination of Redshift's "Aquamarine" off of "Fracture" and some more recognizable Tangerine Dream rips as well as the blatant Vangelis "Blade Runner" blues scale renderings. It's all in my head but rarely comes together in a way which can be presented (not that this is in any way "presentable"). Certainly an amateur-ish nod and wink, but regardless - my thanks to the various true artists for providing the great musical inspiration."
