Uploaded on Oct 16, 2019 Analogue Pocket Nanoloop Demos

via Analogue Pocket

"Pocket has a digital audio workstation built in called Nanoloop. It’s a synthesizer and a sequencer. Designed for music creation and live performance. Shape, stretch and morph sounds. Capture music or play and sculpt live.

Head over to www.analogue.co for more details on Analogue Pocket and Nanoloop.

*Video and audio footage is not captured on an Analogue Pocket and is showcased for demo purposes only. The final version of Nanoloop for Analogue Pocket is in development and subject to change.*"

Pocket is shipping in 2020 for $199.

What's key here is the following:

"Pocket is designed for development. We added a second dedicated just for developers to develop & port their own cores."

Should be interesting to see if any new synth apps are made for it. Sunvox, Electroplankton, and Korg DS-10 come to mind.

John Carpenter's Halloween soundtrack performed on the Dave Smith Instruments OB6 synthesizer

Published on Oct 16, 2019 Sean Christopher Evoking Emotion with Synthesizers

"It's October, so I thought some classic synth horror movie soundtrack music was in order, so I present to you John Carpenter's iconic Halloween soundtrack music.

John Howard Carpenter is an American filmmaker, screenwriter and composer. Although Carpenter has worked with various movie genres, he is associated most commonly with horror, action, and science fiction films of the 1970s and 1980s....including 1978's classic Halloween and its subsequent sequels.

These pieces were multitracked to Cubase entirely from the OB6. I did use some Valhalla reverb though, as I do love their reverbs."

Elektron Analog Heat Dirtying Up a Model:Samples + Digitone

Published on Oct 16, 2019 Perfect Circuit

"Sometimes your digital drum machine or groove box is just a little too clean sounding, and the Elektron Analog Heat MKII is a great option for either roughing up the sound or completely destroying it. The Heat is a distortion with 8 modes from a subtle boost or saturation to fuzzes. It also features a multimode filter and EQ as well as envelope followers and VCA so it can be used as a compressor.

The recent OS version 1.2 update for the Analog Heat allows it to be used as a class compliant USB device. The sound sources for this video are the Elektron Digitone and Elektron Model:Samples."

"This VSynth XT features 3 virtual analog sound engines including the VC-1 which is the classic D50 synth and the VC-2 vocal designer-basically you can create your own background vocals from your own samples, mapped across the keys; no chipmunk effect with this option selected. You have to hear this to believe it...

Analogue Solutions Impulse Command Synth

"Impulse Command is a compact true analogue synth in a neat, smart, package. When we say ‘real analogue’ we mean that the entire audio path (aside from the post effects of course!) and all modulation are entirely analogue, using circuits based on awesome sounding vintage 1970s designs. Their circuits are not locked down by CPUs. Controls are not quantised and read by CPUs. With the exception of the essential digital elements (that is MIDI conversion, sequencer control and digital delay/reverb), Impulse Command really is analogue and the sound benefit is immediately apparent!

The synth has been designed by Tom Carpenter, a musician and a big fan of electronic music. He knows how to program a synth and what should be expected. It was not designed by an engineer or steered by committee or men in suits. Design wasn’t constrained in order to bring maximum profit to share holders! So, the modulation choices and range of sounds they produced have all been carefully thought out and quickly give you those sounds you want: huge bass, synth leads, percussion, effects, modular style sounds."

"Kastle is a mini modular synthesizer with a headphone output, 2 in/out ports for interfacing other gear and it runs on just 3 AA batteries. It is DIY friendly and ideal for beginners in modular synthesis, but it will add some quite unique functionality to any modular synthesizer system. It delivers the fun of modular synthesis at a low cost and fits into your pocket so you can play it everywhere!"
