New ERD/BREATH & ERD/LICHT Eurorack Modules

via ERD

"ERD/BREATH is designed for the precise voltage control (CV) of heat and thus smoke production within a modular, eurorack setting. ERD/BREATH allows for controlled summoning and nourishment of (artificial and benevolent) demons, for the offering of sacrificial vapours, and for any modular use of multiple incenses or other smoke-producing resins, herbs and natural substances.

ERD/LICHT transforms and amplifies the oscillations and perturbations of photons into the massed movements of electrons, thus electricity and perhaps only then into sound waves. There is one amplified output and one gate output (2ms 0-5v), corresponding to the rising edge of a dazzling approach (a disco strobe for example).

Both modules are released in a first batch of 20 units each, within an edition of 50 for each.

MFB Synth Pro Sound Demo

Published on Jan 23, 2020 Maison Vague

"Sound demonstration of the MFB Synth Pro 8-voice polyphonic analog synthesizer. For me, the sound is reminiscent of a vintage 80s Roland Jupiter-6 or MKS-80. It can do a lot more than either of these, however, especially with the ability to use its dual filters in either parallel or serial configuration. I’m only scratching the surface here. I’m hoping to make a follow-up video demonstrating some of its other features in the near future.

Additional equipment used: Arturia Keylab Mk2 MIDI controller, tc electronic d-two multi-FX processor, Apogee Ensemble audio interface, Ableton Live 10."

Sounds of the Roland JUPITER-Xm Synthesizer

Published on Jan 23, 2020 RolandChannel

"Since the release of the JUPITER-4 in 1978, the name JUPITER has marked the pinnacle of Roland sound and playability. Roland synthesizers with the JUPITER name carry our most advanced sound technologies, are supremely playable, and are built from premium materials.

JUPITER-Xm combines classic Roland design and premium build quality with a powerful new synth engine. It faithfully recreates sought-after instruments from our long history of genre-defining sounds. And with multiple layers, loads of polyphony, and deep hands-on control, you can craft huge, spacious sounds that have as much sparkle as they have warmth and punch.

In this video, David Ã…hlund introduces the Roland JUPITER-Xm with an overview of its design, a demonstration of the Model Banks that include JUNO-106, JUPITER-8, JX-8P, a polyphonic SH-101, XV-5080, RD piano and more. There is also a demonstration of the new i-Arpeggio, designed to provide immediate inspiration with drums, bass and more at the press of a chord. David also demonstrates some of the effects on board with over 90 to choose from.

This video also takes a look at the new ZEN-Core Synthesis System which embodies nearly five decades of historical know-how gained through the development of our most famous analog, digital, and virtual analog synthesizers."

The Galaxy Electric - Cosmic Tape Music - Improvised Modular Performance - Air Chrysalis

"Thanks for listening! Come on a musical voyage with us where we'll send you a new song every day, a cosmic story, and a chance to earn space treasure: https://thegalaxyelectric.lpages.co/5...

This improv's theme was done in honor of Podular Modcast's patch challenge : Air Chrysalis

For those not familiar, this is a podcast dedicated to covering the global modular synthesizer scene. It is hosted by Tim Held.

Every week he encourages the guests to create a patch inspired by an adjective and noun of his choosing. They get a few minutes and then they have to perform their patch on the spot.

In his episode 88 on Monday January 13, 2020 he turned it around on his audience and gave his listeners the words Air Chrysalis. We took the challenge and went live on Facebook and Instagram and started the patch from scratch.

Thank you Tim for creating such a fun way to challenge our patching skills.

Equipment Used:
Mellotron 4000D Mini
Roland RE-20 Space Echo Pedal
Pigtronix Infinity Looper
Buchla Clones: 266r Source of Uncertainty, 291r Dual Voltage Controlled Filter, 280r Quad Function Generator, 292c Quad Lopass Gate
