"Just do I.T."

A new release via supporting member, VONDERFUeL, who had the following to say, starting with a quote from Apollo astronaut Edgar Mitchell (synth info starts in the fourth paragraph):

"'You develop an instant global consciousness, a people orientation, an intense dissatisfaction with the state of the world, and a compulsion to do something about it. I suddenly experienced the universe as intelligent, loving, harmonious, what has been described as an ecstasy of unity.'
Apollo astronaut Edgar Mitchell, who saw Earth from the moon in 1971

If our Universe is a simulation being run on a giant quantum computer, by someone from an intelligent civilisation in a different dimension, it wouldn't just be a computer game to them. It would be more like a religion. They would worship the life and diversity that exists on Planet Earth, and they would have great faith in humanity to create peace and unity on Earth. So should we. Across all borders. They would celebrate Planet Earth every Sunday, by praying for us and by playing modular synths and traditional drums, singing and dancing around the fire, sharing the love and compassion they feel for each other and for the life that they have created within the simulation on Planet Earth.

So, as the theory goes, this raises the possibility that we are actually living inside what could be described as a genuine love machine!"

Update: player set to start with track 9. Rainbow per VONDERFUeL:

"I spent six months in 2019 working on my album 'Sapiens', and after completing this, things started flowing well. I composed the album 'Religion' in four weeks around xmas2019/new years, so the spirit of the holidays defiantly made its way into the music. Drums and mixing has been completed recently. The synths used for 'Religion' includes a Matrix 1000, Marion ProSynth, Korg Triton Classic and a Korg Monologue. Drums from Halion Sonic SE/Groove Agent SE in Cubase.

The Oberheim Matrix 1000 and the Marion ProSynth are cousins, both designed by Tom Oberheim, and they are both excellent synths. For me, the Matrix 1000 is, generally, best for pads while the Marion ProSynth is better at short sequenced sounds. The Marion ProSynth is pretty much the same as the Marion MSR2, which I owned before, just without expandability. The name Marion comes from Tom Oberheims daughter. The Matrix has 800 presets + 200 user patches where you can save your own sounds, while the Marion should be programmed (also 200 user patches) to get the best out of it, although it comes with a few good presets swell. The Access Matrix Programmer is great for tweaking presets on the Matrix, which can then be saved into the one of the 200 user patches. I feel a lot of respect for Tom Oberheim, and 'The Spiritual Machines' that he has created for us

'Religion' by Vonderfuel is now available to stream and download.

Korg Prologue 8 DX FM Pads Analog Digital Hybrid Synthesizer Rik Marston

Rik Marston Official

"Finally I get to demo the Korg Prologue 8! It's so beautiful!
Perfect Analog / Digital / Hybrid synthesizer power!
I am working on a new ambient electronic album due out in
spring 2021 called "Into The Earth", it requires a ton of digital
and dark metallic textures. Music & sounds from within Earth.
Currently I'm using a Nord Lead 1, Yamaha TX7 (DX7 module),
Korg O1W/FD, Roland Juno-DS & now the Korg Prologue 8.
They are PERFECT for my new recordings!
I have a Sikhote Alin iron meteorite from Russia on the Prologue 8 :)

Vermona'14 & ARP2600FS with Arturia FX Collection

coyotesynth

"The Vermona'14 is a great keyboard controller for the ARP2600FS.
In this video, the Sequencer is used to control both synths, with a random gate. ModWheel control frequency cutoff on both synths.

Vermona'14 is on the left channel, ARP2600FS is on the right channel, providing a stereo sequence.

After 3'17" minutes of tweaking on both synths (cutoff/resonance), some Arturia FX from the FX collection are used."

Tipped 200k Posts Today

Apparenlty I tipped over 200,000 posts on MATRIXSYNTH today. I wasn't planning on posting anything but I figured I should at least account for the milestone in a separate post. I also wanted to let the natural order of posts flow for the day vs. hijacking the 200,000th post.

The site has been running non-stop since July 20 of 2005, so roughly 15 years and five months. I've only missed a single day posting at the very beginning back on August 6 of 2005, when I had no idea there would be something to post every single day, and before the days of decent hotel wifi. Note 2005 was two years before the first iPhone was launched.

The crazy thing some may not know? Every single post on the site has gone up by hand. There is zero automation. That's over 200k manually created posts to date. :)

Thank you to everyone who has stuck around all this time, supporters of the site, and of course the banner sponsors you see to the right and Sequential up above.

Happy Holidays everyone!

P.S. The 200,000th post? "WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD". It came in at just the right time and up it went.

GLASYS: Can I Write a JRPG Theme... In An Hour? (From Scratch #1)

GLASYS

"Watch me succeed (or fail miserably?) at composing & recording a JRPG-style tune in one hour. (I didn't actually plan on writing a video game style theme, I just hit record and that's what came out).
So, I've been wanting to do this for a long time - get over my own perfectionism and create something as quickly as possible, without the ability to redo stuff or get into the details. Obviously it's far from perfect, but I actually had a lot of fun doing this - it's very liberating!
I would love to make this a weekly challenge. Let me know if you enjoyed watching this, and if you have any ideas for future episodes (could be anything from a certain style, a mood, or even a cover that I create in one hour)."

I put this mix together for the Liverpool based "Emotion Wave TELETHON" held on 20th December in aid of The Trussell Trust, who provide emergency food and support to people locked in poverty.

If you'd like to make a contribution to their work, you can do that here: https://www.trusselltrust.org/make-a-...

You can also find the rest of the stream here: [below]

There are lots of great artists on the stream and it's really worth checking out. The whole event was a lot of fun.

Happy Nerding - FX AID XL - Stereo Effects Demo

Sound Isles

"I explore the sounds of the FX AID XL by Happy Nerding in a non-talking demo. The FX AID XL runs 32 effects algorithms arranged in 4 banks of 8 effects. You choose and customize the effects / banks on the FX AID via their editor page / app (https://fxaid.app/). There are over 100 high quality algorithms including amazing emulations of classic reverbs, delays, pitch shifters and original effects combinations all with a Stereo signal path.

The XL grants separate CV modulation inputs for all three effect parameters plus a Sample Rate Reducer (SRR) input. FX AID XL has four user storable presets that store the selected program and all three controls. CV assign, presets and the last used effect are remembered and always available after power offs.

Notes:
Using the Arturia Keystep Pro to sequence + play a range of sounds from the 4MS - Stereo Triggered Sampler and Rings in an alternate FM Voice mode. Pamela's NEW Workout is applying some simple modulation to CV parameters. Life is Unfair Devices - Potential Joystick Controller makes an appearance.

Thanks to Happy Nerding.
