"The Dopefer MS-404 MIDI Analog Synthesizer was developped and produced around 1994 by Dieter Doepfer. It is a nice monophonic synth. The drums are shaped by a Crayon Full Range Overdrive. It's a nice overdrive as it won't cut as much high and low frequencies as other overdrives do, I guess that's why it is marketed as "full range". The 404 is fed through a Boss RV70 Digital Stereo Reverb, also produced in 1994.

The event's organizers have accumulated years of experience at NAMM since 2018 by setting up a shared guitar pedal booth (that this year will be at booth #5239 and involve over 30 builders), but this is the first year they'll also give small synth builders the opportunity to be at NAMM at a fraction of the cost through this shared synth booth.

"The envelope is a container. It’s the thing you place the message in before you send it. The envelope of a sound is its shape, or as Pierre Schaeffer called it, the “profile.”
In a modular synth, you can use an envelope to "envelop" any kind of sound, including one that already has its own envelope or profile!
Born and raised in New York, Anthony Baldino is an LA based composer and sound designer whose work spans an enormous range of production avenues. The likelihood that you haven't heard his work is nearly impossible, with music and sound design in too many trailer campaigns to list, including Tenet, Prometheus, Interstellar, Ex-Machina, Star Wars: Rogue One, and Avengers: Infinity War and End Game just to name a few. From there, his work ventures to the opposite pole of production with custom sound design based compositions for Dolby Labs mixed in Atmos, beautifully glitched out remixes, and continues on to mind-bending modular synthesizer performances.
"Quick demo of five Augmented Voices patches I've made. Augmented Voices, along with Augmented Strings, are two of the new synths included in the just released Arturia V Collection version 9. Similar(ish) programming interface to Pigments, each patch has two layers, one "voice-y" layer and one "synth-y" layer, and each of those has two sound sources, kind of like oscillator equivalents. In a way they're simple to program but they're at the same time pretty deep as well. Lots of flexibility and all sorts of things you can do with the controls. Looking forward to spending more time with the Augmenteds.
Note that this is the very short version of this video just to demo the patches. There'll be a longer version in a few days that shows two of the patches being made start to finish.
