SPHERICAL SOUND SOCIETY Introduces OMNICYCLONE - A Generative FM Beat Machine
Launching OMNICYCLONE. A Generative FM Beat Machine video upload by SPHERICAL SOUND SOCIETY
"OMNICYCLONE is a unique take on generative synthesizers. It's primarily focused on percussive phrases, but it can also create melodic content.
At its core lies a Yamaha OPL2 emulator that has been extensively modified to achieve things the original chips couldn't – like a fully stereo image and a complete revamp of sonic possibilities.
We've taken some of the most interesting features from WINTERMUTE, expanded the emulator further, and hybridized them with OPERA ROTAS features to birth a new generative beast that sounds surprisingly retro and modern at the same time.

"OMNICYCLONE is a unique take on generative synthesizers. It's primarily focused on percussive phrases, but it can also create melodic content.
At its core lies an OPL2 emulator that has been extensively modified to achieve things the original Yamaha chips couldn't – like a fully stereo image. Some Yamaha chips of that era only offered hard-panned stereo (just center, left, or right). OMNICYCLONE provides 256 possible stereo positions, which sounds probably awesome.
We've taken some of the most interesting features from WINTERMUTE, expanded the emulator further, and hybridized them with OPERA ROTAS features to birth a new generative beast that sounds surprisingly retro and modern at the same time.
In this new incarnation, we've added volume bars for each channel, providing a clearer visual understanding of what's happening under the hood.
The synth is controlled by 2 banks of parameters, plus a fully-featured global LFO and global parameters for controlling each of the ADSR stages. It also includes a variety of new generative strategies that are explained in the manual.
OMNICYCLONE runs on the Fluorine hardware, meaning you can flash Fluorine's other firmwares (there are 4 different ones to choose from) in addition to the OMNICYCLONE firmware. This gives you multiple synths in one piece of hardware.
There's also a new firmware that turns the Fluorine hardware into a USB MIDI Controller with 2 banks of potentiometers. This means you essentially have multiple synths plus a MIDI controller in one device
The OMNICYCLONE firmware is closed source. Existing Fluorine users can order the digital files to easily switch between their other Fluorine firmwares and the OMNICYCLONE firmware. The USB MIDI Controller firmware is also free for Fluorine users, but the OMNICYCLONE firmware has a small fee to support its development.

"Sound: Ambient Drone Sample Pack https://akihikomatsumoto.sellfy.store...
A cinematic atmosphere made of sound, not melody.
This is not a collection of loops. It is a carefully curated archive of long-form drone textures, each exceeding five minutes, sculpted for those who create without the need for rhythm, harmony, or resolution. Designed for deep listeners and sound designers.
From seasoned ambient producers to experimental filmmakers, this pack speaks to those who understand that sound can live and breathe without a beat. Built from legendary hardware units and bespoke digital tools, these drones are not simply sounds. They are environments.
What you get
152 Long Drones
Each drone is a sustained sound object, stripped of melodic intention, tonal center, and conventional structure. Yet within that restraint lies a world of motion, tension, and resonance. Ideal for background atmospheres, immersive installations, or the subtle shaping of sonic space.
Crafted with attention to sonic texture
Every file in this pack was created by hand. Each layer was tuned for grain, depth, and movement. This is not the kind of material you will find in generic libraries. It rewards slow listening and detailed placement. If you care about the feel of sound as much as its function, you will feel at home here. Always growing, always free to update
If you have already purchased this pack, new files have already been added at no additional cost. If you are still considering it, now is a good time. Ambient Drone (Sample Pack) is in constant evolution. Once you own it, every update is yours.

Dreadbox Artemis | Six ambient sketches

Exploring the Dreadbox Artemis in my way. All sounds from the synth, with no additional effects on the master (other than a little compression and limiting for volume).
00:00 Super slow envelopes
03:29 Exploring bass sequence w/ effects
05:08 Modulated osc drone magic
11:06 Stereo bass arp
15:30 ???
15:38 Cover song on modulated pad
17:24 1980s pad
Full disclosure: while I have bought many, many Dreadbox synths over the years, Dreadbox did send this one to me for free.
Here, I explore the Artemis for the first time, mainly initializing patches and seeing where they lead me. I find that while other demos have done a great job of showing off the wild and weird, the Artemis mainly leads me to two places: slow beautiful expansive pads, and bouncy unison basses.
There are a few things that elevate this device over other table-top modules, like the Nymphes: the spread of stereo voices (for both unison and polyphonic patches), effects (very decent sounding delay and reverbs, for example), and an internal drive for shaping the character/personality. Plus, all of these patches took just a minute or two to set up; the Artemis has a fast and friendly interface for exploring.
There are at least three ideas here that I might potentially develop further, which is quite a high hit rate for a first exploration of a synth. I can't wait to get back to the city and put the Artemis on the table with some friends.
There is one notable shortcoming to the Artemis as of today (4th July 2025): its envelopes have something that occasionally makes them get very clicky at onset of gate/note. I'm not sure what's causing it, but contributing factors seem to include using the internal drive, and not just at very fast attack rates. In any case, it's a bummer. I've read online that Dreadbox are currently working on this in terms of a firmware update, but I don't personally have any firsthand information. The clickiness really can interfere with a project, so know if you're thinking of buying, you should plan to work around this shortcoming. (My personal opinion: don't buy gear for promised or hoped-for firmware updates, because they may never come, and they may never solve the problem.)
But otherwise, Artemis is a great synth. Lots of personality, strangely well behaved at times, very good at bouncy basses, and very easy to design interesting sounds with.
Thanks for listening.
The cover song is one of my very favourites, "Poor Edward" by Tom Waits."
Presumable (Digitakt2 + Vermona PerFourMer mk2 + Strega) Performance Version
video upload by Music4screens
"Performance film version of 'Presumable'.
All created and performed on Digitakt 2, Vermona Perfourmer mk2 and MakeNoise Strega.
Digitakt was the sequencer, the glitch drums and texture inspiration.
Vermona PerFourMer the bass king of the track with two bass tracks and the melodic lead.
Strega is the sci-fi synth line abusing on the filter, the activation interference and the pitch knob. This was effected by Hologram Microcosm for space.
I enjoyed so much in the making and performing it for the video."
