Genki Instruments Katla #5 | Winterdagen
video upload by Winterdagen
"Time for a new video on the mighty Genki Instruments Katla lava synthesizer! While last rays of a setting sun were hitting my living room window, I was playing around with Katla's stereo CMOS distortion, and this beautiful gloomy pad emerged. You can drive Katla in no less than four different places. This took a little getting used to for me, but it makes for a super flexible synth engine. I've never heard internal drive sound this good on a synthesizer.
As always, thanks for having me Genki! I'm not getting payed to say nice things about Katla, and I think its beautiful sound speaks for itself:)"
New maker sbrk devices Introduces zerua nahasi 4-voice granulator eurorack module
From the creator: "My name is Dani and I am about to release my first Eurorack module, which I have been working on for the last few years: it is called zerua nahasi, and it is a 4-voice granulator with multiple internal and external modulation options, various ways to combine and synchronize the 4 voices, multiple grain engine types (varispeed, (paul)stretching...), and an integrated convolution reverb with custom impulse responses. You can learn more about it at sbrkdevices.com.
The module will be released in automn this year, but in a few days I will be showing it at Superbooth in Berlin. If you plan to be there, you are more than welcome to come visit us, we are in the headphones only area, at booth W241."
Additional details via sbrk devices:
zerua nahasi is a polyphonic granular synthesizer for the eurorack modular format, with a wide range of granulation possibilities. it features 4 stereo granular engines that can be used independently or in combination, opening a whole palette of possibilities. samples can be loaded from an SD card, or recorded via the stereo audio input. each granulation engine can use the same or different samples as sources for granulation. a live mode is also available, where the device works as a granular delay. zerua nahasi aims to work as a granulation l a b # r & t @ @ !.
furthermore, this device also includes a stereo convolution reverb, with some built-in impulse responses with barcelona's most iconic spaces, and the possibility to load custom IRs from the SD card.
- features -
4 stereo granular engines - each slot can hold over 20 seconds of audio.
the 4 engines can be synchronized and combined in multiple ways.
main granulation parameters with CV control and randomization: grain position, grain length, density, pitch/speed, envelope shape, stereo image.
multiple granulation modes: varispeed, stretching, and more to come.
onset/transient detection.
granulation sources: stereo input audio (live or pre-recorded), or samples from SD card.
integrated convolution reverb. IRs can be loaded from SD card.

The Terminal Island Freeway (CA 47 & 103) | Synthesizer soundtrack
video upload by CatSynth TV
"We return to Terminal Island to explore its freeways anew after several major construction projects, starting with California highways 103 and 47, which form the Terminal Island Freeway. The island and its surroundings are at the southern end of Los Angeles, and host the massive ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. This gives the drive an industrial, surreal, and delightfully dystopian vibe. The music, which combines metallic sounds with a sense of solitude, reflects the experience.
The Terminal Island Freeway begins at an intersection near the southern terminus of Interstate 710 and heads north, crossing the Commodore Schuyler F. Heim Bridge onto the mainland, where 47 and 103 split. We stick with CA 103 and the freeway, passing by some large industrial facilities and CA 1, and ending at modest intersection with Willow Street in Long Beach.
Synthesizers used:
Arturia Augmented Persia and CMI V
Yamaha RX5 vintage drum machine
Anukari 3D physics modeling synth
Cherry Audio DS-2, Spirit, and Filtomika
AudioThing Wires
EastWest Fab Four, Stormdrum 3, and Orchestral Percussion"

GreyScale-GeneratePulse #kosmos #renoise
video upload by plantssystem
"GreyScale has released their latest project, "GeneratePulse," which fuses intricate rhythmic structure with an intense visual experience.
The core sound production of this work utilizes Renoise, a leading tracker-type DAW. Fully leveraging Renoise's unique step-based precision sequencing capabilities, a tight, glitchy beat is constructed, themed around "Pulse," as the name suggests. Tracker enthusiasts will undoubtedly appreciate the meticulous programming that conveys a sense of vertical energy.
For visual effects, the hardware video visualizer QuantumVJhd is employed. It converts audio signals into glitchy video in real time, creating luminous visuals perfectly synchronized with the sound pulses.
A fusion of sharp pulsed beats and abstract, high-brightness visuals that respond to the dynamics of the sound.
This work, where the mathematical beauty of digital trackers intersects with analog-like glitch visuals, can be considered a pinnacle of contemporary audiovisual works."
