Torso Live Session #9: Anton Friisgaard

video upload by torso electronics

"torso electronics presents a live session recorded at torso electronics hq in Copenhagen.

In this episode, Anton Friisgaard moves between future grime, choral music, ambient techno, post-dubstep and broken beat. His set brings together ethereal, mechanical textures with a lush, melancholic atmosphere.

The S4 is the centre of the setup, with a set of macros that Anton uses to shape the samples and introduce glitchy fills and momentary variations. His material comes from an archive of sounds recorded on analog synths and acoustic sources, often processed through tape or digital means.

The structure is planned in advance, with each segment chosen to shape the set’s overall dynamic. A sustained choir loop, sampled from Kringsatt Av Fiender by Nordahl Grieg and Otto Mortensen through Anton’s tape-loop system, creates a heavy, historical moment between two more modern-sounding sections.

Within that structure, the S4’s processing and macros leave room to improvise. By bringing together samples from different contexts, Anton lets unexpected relationships emerge, guided by his own taste.

About Anton Friisgaard

Anton Friisgaard is an electronic musician and composer whose work brings acoustic and electronic sound worlds together. His practice spans classical collaborations, tape-loop experiments and Teratai Åkande, a six-year project created with Balinese gamelan musicians. He has released music through Flau, Janushoved, Vaagner and Stroom, and performed at Roskilde Festival, Intonal, Copenhagen Jazz Festival and ALICE."

Fingerlab Introduces BloopMachine - Acid Bassline

video upload by Fingerlab

"BloopMachine is a monophonic synth-sequencer built for acid lines, glitchy textures and generative electronic music. Inspired by the sound worlds of Aphex Twin, Autechre and Morton Subotnick, it behaves like a TB-303 pushed way past the edge: squelchy, alive and gloriously unpredictable.

Get it now for free on the App Store:
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/bloopma...

At its heart is a wavetable synth with a resonant filter, driven by a deep step sequencer that can automate every parameter. Lean into the machine's love of chaos: the Mutate function reshapes your entire patch in one tap, turning simple sequences into organic, ever-shifting patterns that always stay musical.

Shape your sound with a 5-effect FX section: Ring Modulator, Distortion, Chorus, Delay and Reverb, and sequence or mutate those parameters too, for movement and grit that evolves bar after bar.

Build full tracks with 48 patterns and a Song mode that chains them into a timeline. Save your favourite machines as presets, then capture the result with real-time audio recording.

Run it standalone or as an AUv3 plugin inside your favourite host, on iPhone, iPad and Mac.

BloopMachine is free to download and explore. Unlock the full version with a single in-app purchase to use the complete FX section, access all 48 patterns, build tracks in Song mode, save and manage your own presets, export your music with real-time recording, and enable Undo."

Maciek Polak "Remaining exercises For Synthi AKS Solo" - Master 49

video upload by analogia pl

"In 2016 and 2017, while working on the debut album for my band Pin Park, I recorded a few hundred tracks. Around 200 survived the first cut, and that number was eventually trimmed down to 50. These recordings were literally rescued by Marcin Bociński from legatomastering.pl after I had forgotten about them for quite some time.

The setup I used was extremely limited: an EMS Synthi AKS (occasionally a VCS3), an EMS Vocoder 1000, and three Boss pedals (looper, reverb, and distortion). Everything was recorded onto a low-quality Zoom device running through a substandard mixer. Each track was captured in a single take with no overdubs, which meant there was no real possibility for mixing. Marcin’s mastering work was nothing short of amazing, bringing these raw recordings to life.

In 2018, Apekwolf Records released 14 of these tracks. The remaining 36 were never made available—until now. Enjoy!"

Expander for the M-Vave FM-1: firmware switching, song library, MIDI out & sync (demo)

video upload by Oficina de Sonido

09:28 Sync in: Clave as master
10:29 Wrap-up

You can find the M-VAVE FM-1 on Amazon.

"The Expander is a small companion box for the M-Vave FM-1, by Oficina de Sonido. It plugs into the FM-1's USB port and adds what the FM-1 can't do on its own:

▸ Install and switch firmwares (SLOOP, X0X, CTL-1, stock…) with no computer, from its microSD card

▸ Song library: back up and reload songs on firmwares that support it. Switching firmware no longer costs you your work, and you can play a whole set live without a laptop

▸ Two TRS MIDI outputs: sequence other synths from the FM-1, with MIDI channel filtering for devices that receive on all channels

▸ Sync in and sync out: the FM-1 can lead or follow Volcas, Pocket Operators, modular synths and drum machines

In this demo: firmware install, loading songs, sequencing a MicroFreak, and syncing both ways with Clave, the Euclidean drum machine by Oficina de Sonido.

What you see is a prototype, user interface included: we're already working on the PCB, the front panel, the enclosure design and the UI.

It will be open source: schematics, PCB and firmware will be published once it's finished.

More info: https://www.oficinadesonido.org/expan...

Built on the great work of the developers of SLOOP, Felucca, X0X and CTL-1. Thank you!"

New G-Storm Sound Patches for Isla ASYX Virtual Synthesizer Demo 01

video upload by gstormelectro

"Audio + Video by G-Storm Electro c. 2026

Today I am auditioning some of the presets I made with the ASYX virtual instrument plugin from Isla Instruments. ASYX is an emulation of the Andromeda A6 synthesizer. All of my previously released patches made for the Andromeda have been ported over to ASYX, and are included in ASYX with my expressed permission. This video exhibits previously unreleased new patches made on the ASYX during beta testing. It's been a dream to once again lose myself programming sounds - often times forgetting that it is a virtual instrument. As usual audio is recorded direct, no post FX except normalization, listen w/ quality monitors or headphones recommended, watch your levels - some sections have harsh noise and high-frequency content. In full disclosure no money has been paid to me for promotion, product placement nor sponsorship to this video content."

ORRERY - by Recluse Studios, ORRERY Generative Modular by RedtailWorks, and ORRERY by Kepler

video upload by RedtailWorks

Three different apps based on celestial mechanics. Above is RedtailWorks ORRERY Generative Modular posted just today. No additional details are provided.

Directly below is Recluse Studios' Orrery from about two months ago. You can find Kepler's Orrery in previous posts here dating back to 2007. As always, dig and explore.

Orrery by Recluse Studios First Look

video uploads by Recluse Studios

https://reclusestudios.net/orrery.html

"Orrery is a generative music environment where wires carry theory, not audio. You don't write every note — you set the rules, and the machine obeys them forever. Gravity becomes a tonal center. A wormhole becomes a canon machine. A supernova becomes structure.

This is the celestial canvas playing a real piece: three minutes born from a single brief — start in A minor, move to E phrygian, end in D lydian. Bells, soft pads, percussion. No supernovas. One wormhole. All sounds generated in-engine.

Orrery is deterministic by contract: the same file, the same seeds, the same performance — every time, on your machine, offline. No black box, no cloud, no subscription. The composer stays the composer. The machine does the paperwork.

Built by Recluse Studios.

#GenerativeMusic #Orrery #MusicTech #RecluseStudios #CompositionTools" Playlist:

1. Orrery - First Look
2. Orrery - Ouroboros
This is the celestial canvas playing ouroboros — the first demo, and the one that shows what the clock really is. A single voice walks D, F, A, C, E while the tempo itself orbits: 40 bpm, up to 280, and back down, forever. Because the clock's own rate is fed back into the clock. The snake eats its tail.

3. Orrery - Canon in Em
This is Orrery's celestial canvas playing Canon in Em — a strict three-voice canon in E minor, doing exactly what the docs always promised. One theme, eight bars, an original line. It enters, and two wormholes swallow every two-bar phrase and return it unchanged, on time: the same melody at +2 bars, and at +4 bars, forever. Pachelbel's ground, translated — i, v, VI, III, iv, i, iv, v — in natural minor, where the dominant stays minor and the cadence stays modal. 80 bpm. Four minutes. No scenes, no supernovas, no shortcuts: the form is the canon.

4. Orrery - Undertow
One static texture, three rhythms braiding against a bar.
The piece: a Glass-style additive ladder climbs D5→D6, a tresillo thumps on the grid, and a 2-in-7 euclid pattern laps at the beat but never quite lands — the one voice that refuses the bar. The polyrhythm is the entire form. In the middle section the ladder learns to breathe — ties, rests, an accented held apex — before the machine returns, unchanged.

GRAVITY IS A CHORD.
WORMHOLES ARE CANON MACHINES.

You drop bodies into a sky and wire their ports together. A clock keeps time. A key holds the tonality. A progression walks the changes, a voice-leader smooths them, and a gravity well bends everything nearby toward its centre. Wire a body's output into another's input and the second one starts listening.

Beads sit on the wires and do the arithmetic — scale, offset, clamp, curve, lag — so a die roll can drive a filter sweep and a slow contour can nudge a whole section. The machine has no opinions. It has a clock.
