Divisions is a MaxForLive MIDI Effect. Use various drawing tools to draw walls that balls can bounce off of. You can create up to 32 emitters to launch balls with different settings. When a ball bounces off of a wall, a MIDI note is output based on the settings of its emitter. Use Divisions to create various different MIDI effects in a less conventional way! Whether a sequencer, arppeggiator, melody/counter point/chord generator, note delay, and whatever else you come up with!"

Songbird - MaxForLive Instrument

video upload by Dillon Bastan

"Get it Here:
https://dillonbastan.com/store/maxfor... [also at Isotonik Studios]

Songbird is a MaxForLive audio instrument. It features a simulation of a flock of birds, each bird having its own model of a syrinx (a bird vocal organ) as well as a model of a simple birdbrain that controls the syrinx to create different syllables. Each bird’s position, speed, angle, etc in the flock can be mapped to various parameters as modulation sources. This device yields anything from textures, drones, rhythms, harsh/haunting/noisy/pretty tones, generative soundscapes, odd melodies, and of course different sounding bird calls!

The design of Singbird is a collaboration between myself and Alina Kano (alinakano.com)

The Mojave Desert Modular Experiment: Dillon Bastan

Published on Jul 22, 2019 Perfect Circuit

"In the Mojave Desert Modular Experiment, we worked with local artists to create modular systems suited to their own styles and workflows...despite the fact that none of them had ever used modular synths before. Each artist/group had two weeks to get to know their system and prepare a performance.

Dillon Bastan normally works with Max and Ableton Live, so although he hadn't used eurorack synthesizers he was familiar with modular signal routing from the Max software environment. Dillons system was based around a Mutable Instruments Marbles for sequencing drums from an Intellijel Plonk and synth sounds from Instruo's CS-L complex oscillator.

Come by our showroom to try out these systems for yourself, and keep an eye out for more results from the experiment each Monday this month! Read more about Dillon's system and get links to his music here: https://www.perfectcircuit.com/signal..."

Dillon Bastan - Ecosystem MaxforLive Modular Synthesiser

Dillon Bastan - Ecosystem MaxforLive Modular Synthesiser - Demonstration from Isotonik Studios on Vimeo.

"Ecosystem is both a Max for Live Instrument and Audio Effect (2 devices). Ecosystem provides you with 3 different types of modules: Sound generators, basic audio effects, and controllers. Modules can connect together, sending audio or control signals to each other. Within its environment you can create soundscapes, textures, experimental synthesizers/effects and looping. It is a semi-modular device, and may be used however you imagine!"

"The three categories of modules/organisms are:

Sound Generator: a collection of basic waveform oscillators and a looper

Sine, Tri, Saw, Rect, Noise, Buffer/Looper
Sound FX: a collection of signal processing effects (ie filter, delay, vocoder, etc)

Plus, Multiply, Filter, Drive, Delay, Vocoder, Envelope Follower, SaH, Monitor
Controllers: a collection of modules used strictly for control values (ie sequencer, envelope, etc)

Knob, Sequencer, MIDI Note, Envelope, Automation
Other Features

Connections (<= 10 per module) to various parameters per module mode Macro mapping for visibility in Live (for MIDI mapping, automations, Max for Live, etc) LCD interface for semi modular connections"
