Philicorda GM 751 Valve Organ from 1967

video upload by Vintage Keys Studio

"Steve Christie from Vintage Keys Studio demonstrates a fully working* Stereo Philips Philicorda GM 751 Organ in all its glory.

This organ came to our studio in need of repair and has been fully restored by Steve. It is a valve/transistor hybrid from 1967. Later models were solid state.

Comes with a LDR based swell pedal which attaches to the base of the organ via a DIN plug. It has two internal speakers that face out left (source signal) and out right (source signal / reverb switched) for a stereo effect.

The organ is mounted on a sturdy iron frame with attractive wooden supports, and comes with its own equally attractive music stand.

Valves: 8 x ECC83, 1 x ECL82,
Neon Lamps/Diodes: 5 x Z70U, 68 x ZA1001, 1 x ZZ1000
Transistors: 3 x AC125, 2 x AC128, 4 x AD149

This organ has been used in sessions for many years and continues to remain a reliable keyboard with a wonderful variety of sounds which can be modified using the 5 filters and their combinations, 3 organ registers, Vibrato circuit and Reverb (called 'Reverbeo') - on German models this is labelled 'Hall'

Steve and other session musicians from Vintage Keys are available to record this organ for you as a layer to add to your own project. Please contact us at https://vintagekeysstudio.com for more details."

iPhilicorda - Vintage Organ for iOS & Mac

video by Fingerlab

"iPhilicorda is an emulation of a vintage organ from the sixties, the Philicorda, created by the Dutch company Philips.
If you search a warm and precise organ sound, iPhilicorda is for you.
By using the 3 octave registers and the 5 Vox sound, you will be able to create a wide palette of sounds.
Plus, the embedded spring reverb and vibrato will brings depth and character to your songs.

At Fingerlab, we used Philicorda since now 15 years in our musics, and we always had this dream of make an app with it, to be able to do music tour with a simple iOS device rather than with a nice but bulky organ.
So we recreated faithfully the original Philicorda sounds, and created a nice and graphic interface so you can get the same feelings than with a real Philicorda organ.
We also added so new features that expand possibilities, such as AudioUnit, ADSR envelope editor, 4 FXs and a Farfisa-like Bright mode.

iPhilicorda is an universal purchases, meaning once you bought it, you got it for iPhone, iPad and Mac.

In iPhilicorda free version, you will get only 3 factory presets and some features are locked (see * in features list).
Get the « Full Version » IAP to get all the factory presets and all features unlocked.

Low End Hi End

"High end meets low end. My new CS-80 and my trusty old DR-55. Other intruments are MiniMoog, Philicorda and Jupiter-4.

The first thing you hear is the Philicorda 754, then the JP-4 is doing a polyphonic rhythmic thing, MiniMoog doing lead as well as bass."

"An exceptionally-clean example and unusually for sale complete with original stand, pedal, music stand and manual in its folder. Working very well indeed - just back from a complete service.

The condition is very good overall - there are some scuffs to finish, mostly on the edges of the woodwork, and one ding to the top left rear corner, but overall this is in exceptional and complete condition. Click on the photos to zoom in and see more shots.

Model number on the bottom is Type 13GM751 15T. it's a sold state (transistorized) unit.

Philips Philicorda GM751Demo

Published on Jun 27, 2015 noddyspuncture

"Here is Jake's Philicorda GM751 - finally up and running and working 100%. It's been a mammoth task and quite a challenge - it's been here for over a year - but I seem to have gotten there - eventually. I just need to clean and replace all the keys and cut some pieces from that silver strip and engrave them with the lettering for all the rocker switches...!"

"Approx 83cm wide x 53 cm deep x 79cm high.

Clean unit in good working order with a couple of faults (see below).

Features include great Spring Reverb and Vibrato and Chord button (which activates 17 pre-programmed chords)

Comes with foot pedal and shelve underneath organ which is connected to back legs.

Line out and other connectivity are on underside of organ although it also has it's own loudspeaker on underside.

Nice soundtrack and psychedelic organ sounds.

GM754 has been used by the likes of Portishead and Clinic.

Really enjoyed using this fantastically warm and authentic sounding organ, I just need to make room for new equipment.

Known Faults:

two of the keys take a while to return once depressed. (the 3rd e, 3rd f)

2nd b makes no sound at all.

These could be simple contact/cleaning problems but I'm not sure.

Slider cap is missing from vibrato but does not affect function. (see pics).

On the right hand side some of the veneer is peeling slightly.(see pics).

Couple of other very small blemishes but overall really good cosmetically considering age.

Owner & service manual can be found here"

"Philips Philicorda GM-754 Analogue combo organ with spring reverb and vibrato. Comes with pedal and shelf on the underside.

Capable of some very synthy and soundtrack style sounds.

Portishead are big fans: [link]

In excellent cosmetic condition for its 46 years apart from one missing slider cap (vibrato) This doesn't affect operation. A few of the keys take a while to return once depressed but I think they could just do with the contacts cleaning."
