Hideaway Studio S-VX Hybrid Library for Kontakt Featuring Novachord & More
"Complex Analog Oscillators with 12-bit Crunch into Curtis Filters…
For a while now I've been curious about the infamous AKAI S900 into VX90 combo and after building a 13 pin connection cable and installing an HxC virtual floppy drive in the S900 I decided to give it a go.
The results were very promising so I decided to put a new sample library together offering complex warm analog oscillator sources transposed over 5 octaves with a touch of 12-bit crunch shaped with classic Curtis VCFs and VCAs!
Raw complex oscillator sources were sampled in 12-bits on a recently refurbished AKAI S900. Sources were mainly 1976 Minimoog model D but also included ARP Omni-2, Philicorda GM751, 1939 Novachord, Juno-106 and three tube oscillators fed into a tube waveshaper.
32 complex oscillators were captured on the S900 and stored as virtual disk images on SD card.
Patches were programmed into the VX90 to modulate the Curtis filters and VCAs and the results multi-sampled as a library of 376 generously long 24-bit samples.
32 instruments were programmed up in Kontakt to form the basis for a 4-voice layering engine complete with scripted user interface.
32 example editable patches were created.
Here is a link to more background, sound demos and download page for what I think you will all find is a very tempting Christmas offer of £10:

The listing is from the author Peter Forrest who states this is likely the last set. These are great books and imo the most comprehensive. Click on the pics to get an idea of what they are like. Peter also has other items listed including The Museum of Synthesizer Technology and Synthesizer von Gestern II.

VINTAGE 1970 PHILICORDA GM 754
Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

"MADE IN 1970
EVERYTHING IS WORKING FINE EXCEPT FOR THE FOLLOWING.
1. THE POWER ON/OFF BUTTON DOES NOT STAY IN.
2. 3 OF THE WHITE KEYS DON'T MAKE A SOUND WHEN YOU PRESS THEM.
3. 1 OF THE BLACK KEYS DOSEN'T MAKE A SOUND WHEN YOU PRESS IT.
I THINK THIS IS A PROBLEM ON THE KEY CONTACTS, AS THEY DO SOMETIMES MAKE A SOUND WHEN YOU PUSH THE KEYS RIGHT DOWN HARD.
4. SMALL AMOUNT OF WHITE PAINT ON FRONT PANEL BY THE RECORD BUTTON WILL COME OFF (SEE PICTURE 4)
ALL OTHER FUNCTION ON THE PANEL ARE ALL WORKING CORRECTLY.
COMES WITH ITS PERSPEX SHEET MUSIC STAND (THIS HAS GOT SOME PAINT ON IT)
ALSO COMES WITH ITS ORIGINAL FOOT PEDAL."

Some synth spotting via Atomic Shadow: "Here is a quick look around the lab. The mic on my camera is having a spasm so no narration. Yes, I do wear the lab coat sometimes.
I have a new collection of recordings coming up. Please find Atomic Shadow on Facebook for links to free downloads. Thanks!"
Regarding the xylophone controller and double manual organ: "It is a Wernick Xylosynth, which despite the synth in the name is really just a midi controller. The organ is a Philips Philicorda GM-760."

"This is a test video of my hilltreefilter for the dutch synthforum. For the rest of the world... this is a cheap and easy to make diy filter. It works on line level so you can make it as a module or a stompbox. See for more projects ,or the schematics of this project, my site. http://www.groenewoudnet.nl"

Synths in Den Haag Art Museum, Holland
via adrian
"I'm just back from den haag in holland (I was playing in the jazz festival), and, while visiting the art museum, I found some interesting stuff. there are some rooms about music, and instruments. There was a clavia G2, but also a sort of small synth made of 5 modules oscillator, filter, enveloppe, lfo, and effects. each module had a button, to trig the sound, and make people understand the use of each module (of course, vco switch trigged the pure vco sound, on filter module, it played only vco + filter .....). There also was some touch screen, where you could sequence some sounds, and you had choice among many sampled instruments.
I was really amazed to see Ondioline among these instruments (I doubt samples I heard where really coming from an ondioline, I could not recognize its special character). There also was among many other instruments, minimoog and philicorda samples"

Korg Polysix, Sequential Circuits Prophet-5, Yamaha CS6X? What's under the Prophet-5?
Update via Hans Peter in the comments:
"I'm quite sure the keyboard below the Prophet is a Philips Philicorda. I used to have one back in the days, painted mine black and gave it a PPG-blue frontpanel.
You can see a picture of mine here
It's in the top photo, in the middle below the Teisco 110F. "

Psychedelic Philicorda
Title link takes you to shots pulled from this auction.
Details:
"This is a non-working Philicorda, believed pretty much complete except for the panel underneath the keyboard and one switch top, but making no sound. It would be possible to repair it, or replace the innards with another example, because the whole point of this is the superb psychedelic painting on the case.
It's the work of Alistair Campbell, aka The Great Unknown. He has been painting in this style for thirty or more years, including doing the cover art for a classic book on psychedelic bands, but generally only sells art to friends or gives it away. www.eclipse.co.uk/sweetdespise/libertycaptions/ tells you a bit more about him.
This amazing image is the result of about 50 hours' work - and a lifetime of mystical experience."
