March Of The Generators

"March of the Generators" is a modular-synth composition using both 5U/Eurorack modules and Nord Drum 2 sound-module. Pitch-shifted reverb comes from Eventide Space.

Here is a short description of track:

1. Basic melody comes from Modcan Touch-Sequencer controlling Endorphin Furthrrrr Generator (dual analog VCO)
2. Snare march-rhythm comes from Nord Drum 2 which is triggered with Touch-Sequencer
3. Generator sine-waves go thru MOTM-120 sub-octave multiplexer inputs A and B. MOTM-120 is in cross-mode when each sub-octave is ring modulated with each other. With faders each sub-octave is opened one at a time (4 sub-octaves)
4. When every sub-octave is sounding starts Nord bass-drum. Bass drum trigger from Touch Sequencer goes thru Rebel Technology's Stoicheia euclidean sequencer which generates the variation to this rhythm
5. Then starts the modulation of melody/harmony. This is done with random CV going to Touch-Sequencers CV-input which modulates pitch-information with an internal quantized scale
6. Korg MS-10 plays some extra bagpipe sounds
7. Sequencer stops and the sound is manipulated manually with Endorphin Generators frequency modulation knob"

"The Chronos mk II is a dual tap-tempo clock with dual tempo synced LFO. Let Cherif talk you through some of its functionalities."

"Χρόνος is an advanced time-keeping module with dual tap tempo clock, and dual tempo synced LFO. The first function is tap tempo: tap the push button to generate a clock, and adjust the tempo with the knob. The second function is two tempo-synced, low frequency oscillators, each with two waveforms. One LFO provides bipolar sine or triangle wave, the other ramp or sawtooth. Two toggles let you switch between waveforms and one-shot mode.

The two functions can be linked or used independently. By default the LFO is synced to the tap tempo, but an external trigger can be used instead. In one-shot mode it works like an envelope, and the trigger input starts one full period of the LFO.

Χρόνος is Greek for Time, transliterated to English as Chronos.

"A little musical exploration in the studio on a gloomy Sunday afternoon, with the Eurorack modular system keeping me happily distracted :-)

Tech notes if you are curious - Intellijel Metropolis is the engine driving the melodies, with the Verbos Complex Oscillator and Endorophins.es Furthrrr Generator Oscillator creating the melodies. These are filtered through a Cwejman DMF-2 Filter, a Doepfer A-124 Wasp Filter, and Schippmann VCF-02. The Furthrrr Generator runs through the 2hp Freez to offer up these tricky little melodic runs. The percussion comes from the TipTop Audio ONE sampler. A Rebel Technology Χρόνος modulates the Verbos timbre. The random radio samples appear live from the Befaker ARRadio, and everything is mixed into the Intellijel Linix and Mutamix. The reverb is in the DAW itself, Ableton Live, a combination of AudioDamage EOS and Soundtoys Echoboy."
